“Kylie was so great the entire process! I initially was hesitant to have someone from this app to stay at my place and watch my pup, but she eased all my worries! She was super sweet and knowledgeable and I have already rebooked her for next month 😊”

“Emma was great! She’s a good communicator and pays close attention to detail. Most importantly, my dogs loved her! I felt so comfortable leaving my babies in her care and when I came back they were so relaxed and happy! I will absolutely be contacting her in the future to care for my dogs!”

“Noa always does a great job, and I don’t usually leave comments, but this time I felt I had to. I was on the verge of cancelling my trip because my anxiety ridden doggo was having some loose bowels in the most inconvenient and public places, after being scared of the maintenance workers that recently visited. Then upon being so excited to see his buddy, Noa, decided to release that excitement in a very stinky way. Not to get too graphic, but I need to illustrate this so you know that Noa really went above and beyond to treat my Bandit like family. Noa was right there helping me clean up in the midst of my profuse apologies. I got tons of adorable and funny photos of Bandit in his doggy diaper, and I was so relieved he was in good hands while I was away. Noa gives frequent updates, and has truly gotten to know my boys. This is why I rebook over and over and over again.”

“I would highly recommend Andrea. Andrea is an amazing pet sitter. She’s a great communicator, and she’s never given us reason to worry about her arriving on time or leaving early. Andrea has stayed in our home several days now and leaves little to no trace that she was there. Our animals love her and she follows all my notes, so they get the best care when I’m away. Because of Andrea, I can take guilt- and worry-free trips.”

“Shea was wonderful! Not only did she do this for a week before (our bad), but she was so caring and attentive to our 2 dogs. They are high energy most of the time unless they have someone to snuggle 🙂!! Thank you so much for your care! We are so appreciative! We will definitely be reaching back out to shea for further service with our dogs as she made us feel very comfortable. :)”

About: I have taken care of dogs for family and friends, I have also taken care of horses for the past 10 years. I previously worked for 2 different doggy daycares. I am currently unemployed, so pet care will be my number one priority, and I absolutely love animals so I will always have time for them. I will constantly keep an eye on your fur baby and make sure their needs, happiness and safety are well exercised during the time they spend with me.
“Patrice was fantastic housesitting for our elderly dog and young pup for a week. They had great care and Patrice kept us well-informed when one of the dogs didn’t seem to feel well for a day or so. It was a great comfort to have someone who cares so much about animals and their well-being looking after the dogs while we were away!”

About: My family has had dogs since before I was born! I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and know how to take care of fur babies of all ages :) Almost four years ago I adopted my first cat. Fast forward to today, I am now a mother of two orange special needs kitties. They are my world 🌎 ❤️🐾 I currently work part time and go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On school days, class starts at 9 and I will have an hour and a half between classes to let a pet out to go to the bathroom, feed them, or give them medication. Then I have another class from 1-3. After that, I will be totally free to assist any pets. I also work part time 3-4 days when I do not have school. These are usually 6-8 hour shifts, but I can adjust feedings/walking/medication administration around these times. And when in doubt, I have several well regarded Rover friends that are willing to help out on my longer shifts, with client approval. :-) I have space to keep a crate for overnight visits and live in an apartment complex with some green space to walk and explore. I am also only a few minutes away from five different parks, so lots of options to check out. I have two cats that are dog friendly, but can be separated if the dog is not cat friendly !

“Jacqueline was great! She provided updates and pictures on a daily basis of my dog. I could tell he was having a fantastic time with her and was being loved on. He was ridiculously excited to see her again when she stopped by the next day to pick up something she forget.”

“Nikka did an amazing job caring for our two dogs for the week. She stayed in constant contact, sending pictures every day. We never doubted that our dogs weren’t in the best of care. Highly recommend! Thank you Nikka!”

“Very pleased with Lacey's care of our home and dogs! They loved her to pieces and she was very comfortable with them even though they are big, strong , scary-looking rescue pitties! Highly recommend!”

About: I have been dog/house sitting for about 2 years. I started with a close friend of mine, who likes to travel frequently. She has a dog, Charley, that I would also watch while she was away. I made a genuine connection with Charley, and still love to visit him. I have also had a dog most of my life. I had my first dog at 5, and loved her dearly. Between both of my parents, I have two pets currently. I have a boxer, who is very energetic (and a total lap dog), and a schnauzer mix, who is very relaxed. I do well with all temperaments because I have had some experience with just about everything. My goal is to not only taking care of your dog, but also make he/she feel comfortable while you are away. I have pets of my own, so pet care in ingrained in my routine. I have a flexible job, so I am able to stop in to see your animals as often as needed. Pet care is unique to the animal being take care of. I enjoy meeting animals unique needs and not disrupting any schedules or routines that have already been established.

“100% recommend Kathleen!! She treats your pet like her own. Very respectful of our home. Took our dog on a walk every night & fed our fish. It’s hard for us to take a vaca & leave our baby at home, Kathleen made the process easy.”

“Danielle took great care of my two dogs over the weekend. She was easy to get in touch with and took the time to come meet my pups on short notice. I appreciate her help with my pups and trust in my house.”

About: My dog‑care experience was shaped on the farm by two completely different but equally unforgettable dogs — Brandy and Sandy. Brandy was the hyper one, always ready to sprint, explore, or break off the leash the moment she saw an opening. Managing her taught me how to handle high‑energy dogs with patience, structure, and safe freedom when the moment was right. Sandy was the opposite — the quiet, protective free‑roam dog who walked beside me while I fed the animals, checked the fences, or just needed silence in nature. She taught me how to build trust without words, how to read calm body language, and how to create a steady presence that makes dogs feel secure. Together, they gave me a balanced understanding of dog behavior — from managing excitement to honoring stillness — and that mix guides the way I care for every dog today. Pet care fits naturally into my life because my routine is already built around consistency, early mornings, and being fully present. I work an 8:30–5pm job, but being hybrid gives me two days each week where I’m home and able to give animals steady attention throughout the day. I’m up at 4am for the gym, so I’m always awake early enough for morning feedings, walks, or check‑ins before most people even start their day. I’m flexible with my time and willing to adjust my sleep schedule, workouts, or daily activities around an animal’s needs — whether that means medication windows, outdoor time, or simply giving them company. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze in; it’s something I build my day around with intention and reliability. When I’m caring for a pet in their space, I keep everything consistent with the routines they already know: feeding times, walk schedules, medication windows, playtime, and comfort habits. I treat their home with respect, keep their environment clean, and make sure they feel secure even while their family is away. I’m flexible with timing and fully willing to adjust my sleep schedule, workouts, or daily plans around what each animal needs — whether that’s late‑night reassurance, early‑morning energy, or extra companionship throughout the day. For me, pet care isn’t something I squeeze in. It’s something I build my day around with intention, reliability, and real heart.
“I had Abigail come to my house to sit my 3 dogs while i was on vacation. She did great with my babies and took time to make them feel more comfortable with her. She even met with me beforehand to meet the dogs which put me more at ease with using her. Abigal is trustworthy and she was respectful of my belongings. She also brought in my packages and took up my garbage cans which was a huge help. I'll definitely use her services again in the future.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Grandview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Grandview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grandview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
