Quetzaly has been wonderful with our pets. She first sat for our cat, Gemini, and we felt like she took such great care of her that we never had to worry while we were away. Because of that great experience, we thought she would be a great sitter for our 5-month-old puppy, Sesame. My partner was out of town for the weekend and I was working nights that week, so we needed someone to watch Sesame, and Quetzaly was available on short notice. We’re so happy we booked with her—Sesame clearly had a great time! Quetzaly followed all of our instructions carefully and took great care of our girl. She kept us updated with pictures and the Rover card, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We never had to worry about Sesame while we were away. We would absolutely love to have her sit for us again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take great care of their fur babies.

About: Growing up I honestly can’t remember a time I wasn’t looking after dogs, rather they be my own or pets that belonged to my aunties. I’ve always enjoyed taking them to the park or taking them on walks / runs alongside me. I was the main one in charge of feeding, bathing and walking them when I was growing up and giving them medicine when necessary. I’m very patient and careful when it comes to pets especially those that aren’t in my household because I know how much they can mean to someone, they are like family in a way. I’m currently working part time Monday-Friday from 12-6pm so I have plenty of time in the mornings or even weekends for overnight stays if necessary. I care for pets when at clients home by making sure they have my undivided attention 24/7. My phone is only answered during emergencies and I am rarely on it while taking care of other peoples pets. I have set alarms for meal times and walk times as well.

About: I have over 15 years of hands on experience in caring for my dogs and my families dogs. My passion for animals is reflected in the compassionate, reliable, and personalized care I provide to each pet as if they were my own. Due to my current work schedule, I'll only be available Sunday, and Monday for overnight boarding. I can do drop ins and daily walks after 330pm. I also suggest bringing a dog bed and toy. I will stick to regular routine, feeding, walking and sleeping. I will communicate with you, sending pics and videos. Regularly clean food bowls. I have a fenced yard and a park that connects to our house which is also fenced. During walks I will always be on alert and use a leash.

About: I’ve worked professionally in pet boarding and daycare for 2 years, including at Holiday Pet Hotel and currently at a daycare in Poway. In addition, I’ve been pet sitting since I was young, caring for dogs, cats, lizards, birds, and other small animals. My kennel experience has given me a ton of knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and safe handling techniques. Whether it’s walking, feeding, bathing, or giving extra playtime, I make sure each pup/kitty feels safe, comfortable, and loved! My schedule works best for pet care in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I currently work part-time a few days a week, but I plan my schedule carefully around the pets I’m caring for to make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and care. I’m reliable with routines and always make time for walks, feeding, and spending quality time with each pet I provide in-home care so your pets can stay comfortable in their own space. With kennel & pet sitting experience, I know how to handle different breeds & personalities. I’ll stick to their normal routine, give them lots of attention, & make sure they’re happy while you’re away

About: I grew up with love from dogs and cats. I cared for four dogs that I grew up with while seeing them go through their playful puppy/dinosaur teething stages to their sweet senior days. My fifth dog is an Australian German Shepard with lots of energy! Energetic dogs don't frighten me whatsoever. I have much love for senior dogs as well. I love them all equally and I understand the amount of patience, attention, and love they need. I am currently in college taking online classes. My studies don't interfere with pet care. I make time for every pet and their individual needs. I care for pets daily and have weekly routines that I follow everyday to prevent any worries. When I am in a client's home my main priority is the pets safety while their parents are gone. I treat the home and their pets as if they were my own, with respect and love. I follow instructions and the pets daily routine.

About: Pets are family, and I know that firsthand! I’ve been around dogs my entire life and couldn’t imagine it any other way. Growing up, we had two energetic and lovable miniature schnauzers, Shaggy and Betty, who brought so much joy to our home. After they passed, I adopted my sweet girl, Cali, two years ago. She’s my adventure buddy—we go on daily walks and runs, and she keeps me on my toes! I’m friendly, active, and caring, and I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy looking after your pets when you’re away. Whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or making sure they’re well taken care of, I’ll treat your fur babies as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets and give them all the love and attention they deserve! Since I work fully remote, I have the flexibility to incorporate pet care into my daily routine. My own dog, Cali, is a big part of my day—we go on morning and evening walks, and I take regular breaks to give her attention, play, or just check in. This setup allows me to provide consistent care, whether it’s feeding, walking, or just giving pets the love and attention they need. I can easily adjust my schedule to accommodate drop-ins, walks, or extended stays, ensuring your pets are well cared for while you’re away! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or my client’s home, my priority is making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. In my home, I provide a pet-friendly environment with plenty of playtime, walks, and cuddle sessions. I follow their usual routine as closely as possible to minimize stress. In a client’s home, I respect their space and their pet’s established routine. I make sure to follow all instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications (if needed), and any special requests. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or just providing companionship, I always ensure that pets receive the care and attention they deserve. My goal is to make them feel at ease while their owners are away!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Grand Terrace stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Grand Terrace. On Rover:

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
