“Ella was amazing. She took my booking last minute and responded quickly. Ella showed up on time and seemed eager to meet our boys. You can tell Ella genuinely loves animals. Ella made us feel comfortable leaving the boys behind in her care. We came home to happy kids and the house just the way we left it. Ella kept in contact during her stay and sent us pictures and updates often. I would definitely book Ella again! Highly recommended!”

“Polly was absolutely fantastic. She sent us photos and notes everyday which really helped our anxiety leaving him. When we came home we new right away that Chester loved her. She played with him, gave him his medicine, and even bought him a few toys. Exceptional care. This is the first time we used Rover and wish I had found out about it before! We hate leaving him behind when we travel, but knowing that we now have Polly to rely on, it makes is so much better. My only concern is now everyone will want to book her and then she is not available for us. We could not have asked for better care for our gentle giant.”

“Complete peace of mind! Amie is a wonderful pet sitter! She stayed in our home and took care of it like her own. We had total confidence that our pets were safe and loved. She sent many pictures and updates and was easy to communicate with. Don’t hesitate to book with Amie. You won’t find a better pet sitter”

“Morgan was amazing with our cat and dog while we were on vacation. She sent us daily updates and was quick with communication. Our dog had a minor injury right before we left and Morgan was great at administering his medicine and making sure he adhered to the vet recommendations. We would definitely book with Morgan again.”

“Troy did a fantastic job sitting for our Golden Retriever, Dory, while we were away for the weekend. He also took care of feeding the fish in our aquarium and attending to a few household items that went above and beyond what we expected him to do. So glad to have Troy on call through Rover to help with our pet sitting needs.”

“10/10 no notes for Sunnie. Dogs are happy and house is immaculate. Sunnie communicates everything that’s going on with the dogs—good and bad. She’s totally transparent which I really appreciate! Already booked her for my next trip! Thank you Sunnie!!”

About: Hi! I’m Jeff I currently have 8yo black/white male Husky named Thorik and a 5yo red/white female Husky named Willow. Willow is actually my sisters dog and stays with her, but her and Thorik are together every day out at our family’s place. They are both well balanced dogs and will get along with anyone who decides to come for a visit. They will kiss you to death though so be prepared! I live on my family’s 180 acre old farm in the country just outside of the Otsego/Alamo area. I am out there every single day, especially in the Summer months, so that Thorik has a safe place to play and swim if he wants. Should you decide to book with me, and with your permission, your pets can enjoy unlimited fenced in yard time along with as much swimming as they’d like! I currently work for a Petcare provider here in Kalamazoo. My week consist of multiple visits for multiple clients a day, this does however allow me plenty of time throughout the day to return home and take care of anything I need to, your pets included! Out at the farm I do have a fenced in backyard away from the road that provides the dogs, a safe, secure place to play. Any time the dogs are not outside playing, or they are at my apartment in the evenings, they are inside the house with me free to do as they please.
“Lexie took such great care of my pets while we were away! Even my shy cats came out to let her pet them because she made them so comfortable. She also sent pics of my dog each day. Thanks!”

About: I have experience with just about every type of pet regardless of age. I have experience with kittens and puppies as well as rescues with high care needs as well as their medication schedules. I began pet sitting when I was very young and have always loved it. I have special experience with caring for dogs with trauma and special situations. It is my privilege to meet those needs. I am available every weekday before 8:45 and every weeknight after 5pm. On weekends I have full day availability on Saturday and Sunday. Currently I am a happy lover of my two dogs and cats at home and my cat Tonka Truck. I usually begin my day with feeding and letting them out and repeat that after shifts. Apart from the usual litter box changes and feeding, it’s necessary to give my older dog medication in the middle of the day. These routines fit well in my life. I care for pets with a high degree of input from clients. While I do have a lot of experience with pet care, it is ultimately your baby and you know your pet best. Any suggestions, rules, and schedules are my privilege to abide by. I cannot care for pets in my own home due to the trauma needs of my own pets, but I am very conscious of house preferences and pet needs in clients’ homes. I am flexible with play schedules and meal times and have become efficient at administering medication from experience with my own dogs. I am also able to meet any sanitation and safety preferences during this time.
About: I've had dogs for as long as I can remember. My dad used to help help run a rescue for several years, and we had many dogs of varying breeds and ages in our home. I currently have one dog named Alvin who was born in 2022. He is a yellow lab with a lot of energy! I am venturing into the working world, and this is my only role. My availability is wide open and I'm willing to help when needed! I have a small fenced in area under our deck where my dog relieves himself. I go for walks and there is a dog park very close to the house. My dog has extreme crate anxiety, so he isn't created. I am comfortable helping to ensure your pet is created as necessary.

About: I have had dogs my whole life! I love working with them and caring for them all! I am also able to train them to an extent! I am currently unemployed, I am available anytime, any day! Just let me know what you want or need and I am happy to help. I will care for the dogs in any way wanted or needed. In experience with my own pets I know all dogs and cats are different from another. I live out of the city in the woods and could easily crate if needed!
About: Available for daily and extended care (overnight negotiable). This also includes running care errands such as vet visits, grooming appointments, etc. I have experience preparing raw and homecooked meals, and am comfortable assisting with both. Willing to dispense a variety of basic/common medications. Experienced and comfortable working with reactive dogs (all sizes). Potty training puppies welcome. Multi-dog/animal households welcome. I live in a multi-dog home, including several 80+lbs pitbulls, huskies, and 6lb chihuahuas. I have been caring for a variety of animals since a very young age and have owned dogs my entire adult life. I have fostered and provided services for other dog owners for 12-15 years on and off. I work full time with a fairly flexible schedule, that often allows me to squeeze in short services with limited notice. I drive quite a bit for work, often visiting several different towns in and around Allegan County throughout the day. Overnight care MUST have at least one week notice. I am happy to follow a relaxed or detailed schedule for your furbabies. I will document any behaviors or activities requested (within reason). Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Grand Junction walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Grand Junction maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grand Junction choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
