“Exceptional Pet Sitter! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amanda was absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning, she was incredibly sweet, helpful, and highly responsive. Her communication was perfect throughout the entire stay—she kept me constantly updated, asked great questions to ensure Winnie had everything she needed, and went above and beyond by asking if there was anything else she could help with around the house. The photos she sent on a regular basis brought so much peace of mind. It’s clear she truly cares about the animals she watches. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and I will absolutely be booking with her again. Thank you, Amanda! Highly recommended!”

About: I have two dogs and a cat myself. I have always taken care of pets since I was little. I love going on walks and playing. I am currently a full time employee but I have free time on the weekends and after work to provide care to any age pets. I have a fenced in yard with two very friendly dogs and a cat who sleeps all day. I am very good about getting pets out for bathroom breaks and getting their energy out.

About: I’ve been working with pets ever since I was 12 walking them feeding them and taking care of them. I love taking care of pets no matter if it’s cats or dogs I love them all. I am currently working part-time and also a part-time student but I love being outside and going on walks with dogs and taking care of cats just by stopping. I have a pretty decent backyard that is fully gated off and I have two amazing and playful dogs yo-yo and Scooby. They are the cutest dogs ever and another small little furball named Cleo and she is just so adorable.
“Was able to book on short notice with zero hiccups. They took excellent care of our 3 dogs over the weekend— who are not entirely easy, and they made us totally comfortable with updates. Our highest recommendation and we will certainly use again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for 3 years now, and my love for animals has always been a big part of who I am. My experience includes providing attentive, loving care through daily walks, drop-in visits, feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship, and maintaining pets’ normal routines while their owners are away. I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and paying attention to each animal’s individual needs. Whether caring for an energetic pup who loves to explore, a senior dog who needs a slower pace, or a cat who enjoys a little extra attention, I strive to make every visit a positive experience. I take pet safety seriously and always make sure pets are comfortable, secure, and well cared for. I know how much trust it takes to let someone care for your beloved animal, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. i'm currently working part time, so I'll have plenty of time to play and have fun with your pups! I'm available three days a week midday to late evening I live in an apartment and can hold pets during the day, to play and cuddle! I live near plenty of dog parks and walking trails and will more than likely be on the go enjoying them with your pup.
“Paige dropped in on my dog Jax and everything went great!! She was very friendly and informative! She went above and beyond for Jax while I was gone and I would highly recommend her!! Thank you Paige ????”

“Stephanie has been a reliable and amazing dog sitter for my two pups. She is very responsive when I reach out and so understanding and patient with my anxious and shy dog. 10/10 would recommend ❤️”

About: I have had animals of my own since I can remember. I worked at a shelter (mainly bigger breeds - but all were welcomed) for 3 years. I love working with and helping all animals. I currently only do online schooling so any and all free time I have, I would love to spend it with your beautiful fur babies! I can train your pup as needed and make sure they receive the best possible care. I can also do any bathing that should need done. For the kitties, I will provide any care they may need, to include cleaning out litter boxes, washing food/water containers, feeding, playing with them and nail clipping if needed!
“Jessica was great. She managed to get my dogs to go out in the rain (which they did not want to do!). Even my cat was comfortable with her right away and he’s usually a little skittish with new people. I will definitely be booking with her in the future.”

About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I have experience sitting for all types of animals. From cuddly Pyrenees, and scary-smart German pinschers, to spunky chinchillas, their best cat friends, and curious pythons. I have been through partial behavioral training for dogs (and their humans), and have experience with animal hospice situations, as well as behaviorally aggressive dogs. I prefer to keep the animal's care as consistent as possible. The more details you have of your preferred method of walking, reward, or preparation habits, the better. Trust and care are my number one goals when it comes to animal sitting. Not just with the four legged babies, but with the parents as well. I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your care provider, and what a treat it is to know that you can trust someone with the care of your loved ones. Also, aren't dogs just perfect? I work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and am currently on telework, so my weekly availability is early morning, and late afternoon. I also volunteer at the Old Dominion Humaine Society and occasionally foster for them at my house. I have one <1 year old puppy, and I have a home with a large yard but no fence. That means all foster dogs get leash walked always and there are many mind teaser toys for rainy days. I feed in crates and make it a safe space for them to decompress.

“Sydney did a great job. She came by a few days before to meet our dogs and learn their routine. The dogs were her friends right away. Communication during drop-ins was great. Sent us pictures of our happy dogs. We’ll definitely be calling on her again soon.”

“Let me start this off by saying my animals are my babies and they are my world! From the moment this young lady walked into my home. I knew they would be in good hands! I have a house full. On this visit, Peyton was taking care of four cats and one very rambunctious dog. She handled it like a champ and my dog and my cats still look for her after her visit. I needed she was there, anything I needed to change Without batting and I she did it. She’s very warm, very loving and very responsible! My fur babies loved her! About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life including my own. Alongside our own dogs, my family and I have fostered many dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes and medical needs for 10 years. I love going on walks and showing your pup some love! I work full time during the week and nanny part time, with house sitting i fit drop ins into my schedule and am comfortable spending nights. I care for your animals truly as my own, whatever is best for them. Of course, whatever the client sees fit and their preferences in their home.
About: I grew up with dogs and cats and love them both! I am reliable and love staying active with them. I’ve worked as a dog sitter for about 3 years and I am ready to take on more. I am very responsible and my schedule is flexible right now. When I pet/house sit it is usually at the client’s house. I am clean and make sure everything is left better than how I found it. I am flexible with my schedule, I am usually out in Pagosa Wednesdays and Thursdays as an esthetician but that is also subject to change based on my appointments scheduled. I unfortunately do not accept onboarding because I live in an apartment with a roommate who has a dog. He is incredibly friendly and loving but still a puppy.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
