“This was our second time using Carol, and she was fantastic. She is punctual, trustworthy, communicative, friendly, and most importantly, she is wonderful with our dog, Teddy! Carol sends us regular updates and photos of Teddy, and we know he is being well taken care of whenever he is with Carol. We are so grateful to have found her!”

“Laura is professional, communicative, and wonderful with pets! We had to leave town last minute for a family emergency and were super grateful to find Laura. We had her stay at our home and were pleased to find everything clean and organized when we returned, and we got multiple pics of our pup each day! Would 100% recommend!”

About: I grew up with rabbits and various small pets. My first dog, Toto, was trained by me in elementary and middle school. Now, I spend my evenings caring for others animals whenever possible! I work 7:30 am to 3 pm as a teacher! My day does allow for a mid day visit, distance depending! Free every evening for walks and lots of attention! Experienced with crate trained dogs and more free range styles. Love building trust with animals and keeping their days typical and calm while their owners are away!
“We went out of town for a wedding and booked drop in visits for Norm. Kai and Devon were amazing. Kept us updated on norm and any packages that came to the house. Will definitely be rebooking again!”

“Angela was very attentive to the pets and kept me informed with plenty of updates throughout the day. She was very polite and professional - I will certainly book her again in the future.”

“Matthew showed up on time and followed instructions for our dog. He updated me throughout the day and night. He did great watching her and we will definitely be rebooking in the future!”

“Amy took very good care of my fur babies. She walked and fed them every day, plus stayed at the house. She even got my “scary cat” to come out of hiding. I have booked her for a second housesitting for a longer period of time. I trust her but most of all the fur babies trust her. I would recommend her to anybody.”
“There’s no words that can describe the amazing experience my dogs and I had using Heathers house sitting and dog walking services! My dogs used to go the kennel and would seem depressed and scared when getting them home. I came back after 4 days and the dogs acted like I just left. Apparently they didn’t need to miss me since they were showered with love and affection the entire time. Heather doesn’t mention it on her profile, but she sends you the most fantastic photos of your pet!! The photos you receive seem like you hired her specifically for glamor shots of your pets. I’m actually excited to take another vacation knowing that there’s an amazing soul like Heather that will care for your pets like they are her own!”

“Roxanne was great staying with my 2 dogs. Roxanne took very good care of them. They seemed to really like her. When we returned they were very happy. So sent updates and pictures. I really felt they were in good hands. Thanks!”

“Annie was wonderful with our 2 year old male German Shepard. We appreciated the daily updates, photos, and videos while we were gone. We will definitely hire Annie again.”

“Cara was so lovely to work with and took amazing care of our two pups! She was easy to communicate with and the dogs were clearly comfortable being with her! We will definitely use Cara again!”

“Chris was wonderful! She took excellent care of our dog Bailey and even brought her dog over to play. Her daily pictures and updates were very welcome and gave us a sense of well-being while we were away. We'll definitely use her services again.”

“Cole was spectacular with our older basset hounds. He was able to get both of them on walks (not easy with one being a little grumpy with new people). Both dogs while happy to see us, didn’t seem like they had been stressed while we were away- a big improvement for us! Cole also kept our home on great order, dealt with a clogged sink, and even watered my plants (without me asking!). We can’t wait to use him again for future times away- the boys seemed to enjoy his presence.”

“Ben was a great sitter for our Italian greyhound! He was very communicative with us which was reassuring - with texts, photos, and videos. He was gentle with our 10 year old pup, who was friendly with Ben right away! Ben was also really responsible staying in our home and left everything very clean. We look forward to having Ben staying with Lucy again soon!”
“If I could give Leslie six stars I would. I felt comfortable as soon as she came through the door at the meet and greet. She’s great with the dogs, her communication is clear, professional, kept us updated throughout the day with texts and photos and took great care of the house. I’m looking forward to continuing to book with Leslie.”

About: I’ve had the joy of taking care of many different dogs throughout my life. Growing up I owned my own dog, and over the years I’ve helped neighbors and friends with walking, feeding, and looking after their pets. I love spending time, playing with dogs, and making sure they feel safe and loved! I currently am a full-time student at Notre Dame of Maryland University, so I have classes in the morning and afternoon and am usually open on weekends. I’m happy to work with your schedule the best I can! When caring for a dog in a client’s home I always aim to respect and follow their rules and routines as closely as possible to keep their pets comfortable. I’ll make sure they have their food and water, have potty breaks, and some love and attention! I will also make sure the space is clean and will respect the home as if it were my own.
“Joanna was great! I would use her again for sure! I trusted her in my home, and she made me feel very comfortable being away. Her dog Hennry is very sweet as well and got along with Chloe. Thanks Joanna!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glen Riddle
This is the second weekend that Carol has stayed with Ethel, a 12 year old, extremely protective and reactive Australian Shepherd. Carol came for a Meet and Greet which turned into many until she won Ethel over which we really appreciate! She persevered, we persevered and Ethel now has a wonderful, new friend to add to her very small pack! We feel very confident and comfortable leaving Ethel under Carol's professional and loving care.
Lisa was fantastic! This was our second time working with her, but our first overnight housesitting stay. A few days before the booking, Panda had a minor injury that required medication and some extra care. Lisa was incredibly flexible and adapted to his updated needs without hesitation. She kept us updated throughout the stay, took great care of Panda, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. We’d absolutely book with Lisa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

We are so happy to have found Paige to watch our two girls, Gracie and Scout. Paige was wonderful with the girls, taking them on walks and cuddling in front of the tv, and kept us updated with texts and lots of pictures. It was such a good feeling to know our girls were safe and happy while we were away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glen Riddle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glen Riddle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glen Riddle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glen Riddle. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
