“Fatherly review of my daughter's (Mady) animal experience: Our family has always considered ourselves "animal friendly people". Well, little did we know just how many animals that would become! From the start was a dog Bizzy and cat (Kitty) just a year older then herself who she loved very much. Our family grew to having rats (intentionally), lots of fish, and even a large rabbit! Years later and she has moved on to more varieties including more dogs, lizards, hedgehogs. She is also working with an animal education show farm, with more animals then i can list, and a dog daycare center! Now, as it comes to care, the overall care i have observed is phenomenal. The animals needs have always been met and beyond. The love and care she provides and the connection with animals is an uncommon trait to have, and I'm very proud of her!”

About: I've been around animals all my life, from guinea pigs and rabbits, to cats and dogs, to even giant sea turtles! I worked in the veterinary industry for about 10 years as well as a summer at the Milwaukee County Zoo in the Aquatic and Reptile Building. I am comfortable with medication for most animals, fear free handling if needed, but I'm also willing to take my time with more shy pets. I currently have a lab mix who is about 70 lbs, two cats with different medical concerns, and an 11 year old rabbit. As far as my own pets, I do all the care for them in my home. For my working schedule, I am available most mornings after 7:15 am until 2 pm during the week. I am able to do some weekends as well, depending on the situation. I know dogs who are runners well, as my dog very much one! We do not have a fenced in yard, but I have a tie out for my dog, as well as a leash and harness for her for walks and car trips (as well as a seatbelt!). I understand the stress of putting someone in charge of your pets and the care that must be taken. I will always put your pets safety first and make sure all the clips, locks, and bolts are secure before leaving the home.

“Mackenzie was willing to learn how to give my cat sucutaneous fluids (IV). She came over in advance to learn and did a wonderful job taking care of our senior cat with chronic kidney failure. She sent me daily updates and pictures and took notes on the food our kitty was eating each day. I was nervous to leave my cat and his special care with someone else while I was away, but Mackenzie made it easier. She was reliable and timely. Her communication was amazing. She shared a care for my cat and an enjoyment of his snuggles like he was her own. I would highly recommend Mackenzie if you are looking for someone to help you with your pet care.”

I work from home on a small hobby farm, so I’m always around and able to stay on top of things for the animals in my care. My own pets are a big part of my day, whether I’m checking in on the farm animals or taking my dogs for walks and playtime. Since I’m home throughout the day, I have a lot of flexibility when it comes to scheduling drop-in visits or overnight stays. With a little notice and depending on distance, I can easily fit these into my routine and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, even while you're away. Having my own animals at home also means I’m constantly in tune with their needs, and it’s easy for me to stay organized and keep track of any special care requirements. I’m always checking in on them and adjusting as needed, which allows me to provide consistent, reliable care for both my own pets and those I look after. When I care for pets, I try to stick to their usual routine as much as possible. At my place, my pets have free access to the house while we are home, but I know not all animals are comfortable with that. If needed, I’m happy to crate a dog or set up a quiet, safe space where they can relax. I also make sure they have fresh water, comfy bedding, and some toys or something familiar to keep them occupied. When I’m watching pets in your home, I follow your guidelines for feeding, exercise, and anything else that helps your pet feel comfortable. I try to keep things as close to their normal routine as I can—whether that’s sticking to their favorite spots for naps or making sure playtime and walks happen just like usual.

Unfortunately, Vicky is no longer with us but Megan’s ability to take care of her pets and others is unmatched. I have yet to see one animal shy away from Megan, regardless if it’s her pet, a family pet or a complete stranger.
