About: I absolutely love caring for animals. I have a cat who gets along with just about any animal, I also live in a one bedroom if he would need it be separated. :) I have cared for others pets since I was young and I love taking doggos for long walks and giving lots of pets! I enjoy keeping the owners updated with pictures and provide a safe environment for their pets. I’m currently free quite often during the day. I am a teacher so school doesn’t start until the end of the month. Once school starts I can still watch on weekends! I live in an apartment with a dog park and I love to take dogs for LONG walks. I love giving pets and will make sure your pet is happy and healthy.

About: I have been a pet parent for over 15 years. I currently have a 4 year old German shorthair pointer named Draco and a 11 year old cat named Rubeus. Draco is a big goofy lover. Very good with other dogs. We recently lost our older dog and Draco is missing having a buddy to run around with. I am a stay at home mom so I am home most of the day. We are very active with playing in the yard and going for walks. I have a huge fenced in yard and live walking distance to a couple parks. Dogs are free to roam my home and be on furniture. Can kennel overnight if preferred.

“Melanie and family were so friendly that my dogs—a 4- and a 12- year-old Havanese—relaxed immediately. Melanie met us in the yard and the dogs trotted away with her without looking back. About: NOTE: Off during summer, but I work weekdays throughout the school year. Still available during school, but pets will be at home without me on weekdays for about 7 hours. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 25 years. I have cared for small dogs <25 pounds all the way up to large sized Great Danes > 200 pounds. I have been fostering dogs for Safe Paws Iowa for the past 4 years. I am available for a large portion of the summer because I only coach softball outside of the school year. I am very active and would love to share that energy with dogs! Walking, jogging, or just playing in the doggy pool is no issue at all. My Golden loves to play if yours does! If not, I have the space to separate dogs too. Lastly, I have experience giving dogs meds as some of the dogs in my care have different long term conditions. Please reach out with any questions! Can’t wait to meet your precious pups! Please contact me if you have any remaining questions! I am mostly free over the summer and weekends. I run errands or make plans outside of when I’m taking care of pets. Pet care is my priority while hosting! I have a fenced in yard, my own can join in play if wanted, I have gates/doors and a finished lower level where I can separate dogs if need be, and have multiple kennels. I allow dogs on furniture, but can follow owner house rules.
