“Annmarie took wonderful care of our dog. We received several photos, videos, and other updates during our dog's stay. I also appreciated that she took the time to meet our dog before our trip”

“My dog only stayed with Kim for one night but I am super happy with the care he got, I received multiple photos and updates that put my mind at ease. Will rebook with Kim in the future!”

“Thank you Cale for taking such great care of King and Star! I appreciate the daily photos and updates to let me know how the day went. I also appreciate all the love and care that you provided to my dogs while I was away.”

“Absolutely amazing! I have never left my dog with another person who is not family before, and I was honestly a nervous wreck coming up to my trip. However Leanne was an absolute god send. I got updates with pictures as often as I liked, my dog got to tag along on hikes & picnics, and I felt 100% at ease. My Karma was taken care of like royalty & I would recommend Leanne to everybody! 500 stars ⭐️ 10,000% would book again ❤️.”

“This was my first time boarding Freyja, and I was nervous about leaving her with someone she didn’t know. Angelle has a lot of experience with dogs and handled Freyja’s high energy really well. She sent me pictures during her stay, which helped put my mind at ease. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would feel comfortable having Angelle watch Freyja again!”

“Erica was very attentive and loving to our dog Calvin. He gets so stressed when we go out of town, which in turn causes me a lot of anxiety for leaving him. I was able to talk to Erica before our trip and ask questions, reiterate Calvin's likes and dislikes and just get a general feeling of how she would handle any situations that could potentially pop up. They got along so well that I don't think Calvin was ready to come home, HA! I received several updates throughout my trip and it was clear that she was taking care of him just as I would be. 💚”

“We used Pamela for boarding our dog Maxwell. We were so please with the daily updates and photos Pam sent. We heard our dog made a good friends with her Schnauzer, that really impressed us. We are so happy we called Pam, and will definitely use her again. Anita Nightingale”

“Darby had wonderful attention to detail and quick communication. She lives a small farm and allowed our Daisy to "choose her own adventure", which of course our pup loved! I would definitely recommend and would trust Darby with Daisy again.”

“Jordyn was awesome with our little fur baby girl. Jordyn followed instructions that we had, and gave us daily text updates on her progress. We missed our fur baby while we were gone, but weren't worried because we knew she was in good hands. We will use Jordyn's services next time, whenever necessary. Thanks Jordyn!”

“This is the third time that Michael has taken care of Wednesday for me while I have to travel. I can honestly say that I don’t know what I will do if he is ever not available. I trust him completely in her care and she does very well with him. I highly recommend Michael if you’re looking for someone to care for your fur baby!!”

“John was great with our shy pup, Bear. The photos and updates were wonderful. He was very easy to communicate with, friendly, and immediately put me at ease knowing he’s a long-time dog person. Our pup was exhausted when we got home so he got plenty of walks and all the fetch he could have wanted. I will gladly reach out to John again in the future!”

“Tiffany is great with Pickles and clearly LOVES dogs! He was so happy staying in her home and was so happy both times I picked him up after staying! Thank you, Tiffany, for your loving care for my dog.”

“Highly recommended! Our Mochi had a great time with Sanmi and June. Sanmi treated Mochi like family, and sent pics to show us how Mochi was doing. She's very conveniently located in Lacey. We'll definitely ask her to keep Mochi again! Thank You so much.”

“Ari took the best care of our 4 year old blue heeler pit mix while we were out of state for a long weekend! He took him on adventures and loved him like we do. We got updates and pictures too, which made being away from him easier. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dog sitter/boarding. We will be using him for all our doggy daycare and boarding needs! :)”
About: I am currently a graduate student for nursing and want to get a pet of my own but want to wait until I finish school. So walking other people's dogs and pet sitting is the next best thing! I grew up with pets and have been dog sitting/house sitting since high school, including house sitting for my sports coach. Looking forward to meeting your pets! I work four ten hour shifts so I am only available on Wednesdays or on the weekends. I am not available M, T, Th, or Fri I am very cautious when taking dogs on walks. I always avoid interactions with other dogs to protect the dogs I am walking. Interactions between dogs can vary and I'd rather keep the dogs safe.
“Alexis does a fantastic job of taking care of our Abbey. Walks, treats and fun! We can have a wonderful trip without having to worry about our sweet girl while she is with Alexis.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Garden City home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Garden City.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Garden City sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
