From puppies full of energy to senior dogs needing gentle attention, I provide safe, reliable, and loving care. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. Pet parents can count on me to be responsible, punctual, and attentive to their dog’s unique needs. I’ll always do my best to work around your pet’s routine so they feel comfortable and cared for. Your pet’s safety and happiness always come first with me. “Emily treats your fur babies like her own! My girls absolutely love spending the day at doggie daycare with her and her sweet pup, Gertie. I get the cutest playtime videos throughout the day, which gives me total peace of mind knowing they're safe, loved, and having an absolute blast while I'm away.”

“Kaya really enjoyed her first visit with Elizabeth!! This was the first time she’s had dog sitting in a sitters home and it went really well! I felt very comfortable with Elizabeth and Kaya really likes her 😊”
About: I am an animal lover, through and through. Dogs, cats, hedgehogs, birds… you name it. I treat my guest animals like my own and love on them as much as possible. I enjoy taking cute portraits of the pets in my care and I send lots of photos and written updates. I currently have a female Aussie/Pit mix, currently fostering a female Blue Doberman, and have had Doberman Pinschers in the past from puppies through old age until the rainbow bridge. I’m patient with puppies and elderly animals. I check to see which commands they know and how they have been trained to keep them consistent in my care, and have experience administering medications to them. Before joining Rover, I frequently dog and cat sat for friends and family. I am currently fully remote and based at home. I have a lot of flexibility to accommodate your pet’s schedule and needs. My schedule may change in the future but I will update my info when that happens. I have one female 7 year old Aussie/Pit Mix and one 2 year old foster female Doberman. I have a spare bedroom to host guests with their crates and belongings but during the day they are with me, within line of sight in my home. My yard is fenced (4ft) and only two steps to the yard from the door. There are no children living in my home. I live is a quiet neighborhood and can go for walks as needed.
“Danielle is AWESOME!! Roxy had a great time with her and her dogs and kids are amazing! She sent me photos during the day and let me know how Roxy was doing. She takes her for nice walks and gets plenty of exercise and fun. I'm super happy with the care Roxy gets at her house. Thanks!”

“Can’t thank Dorene enough for taking my last minute request…. On an early Sunday morning! She was great and Rambo came back tired which can be hard sometimes as Rambo is an energetic bulldog! Thank you Dorene !!!”

“Stacy has been watching Trixie about 2 to 3 times a week since I adopted Trixie at 4 months old over a year ago. She's been a godsend allowing me to work downtown and have care for Trixie. She goes above and beyond, and I'm pretty sure Trixie thinks she's her mom :) Thanks for everything Stacy!”

About: I grew up with animals my whole life, from smaller dogs to big dogs such as Akitas. I have a dog of my own almost 10 years old that I trained and have taken care of and I have had 2 cats, currently have 1 cat now age 10! I've been a nanny for years and always helped with their animals as well, from walking them, feeding them and giving them medicine! Love animals so much and honestly always wanting to adopt more. I currently am a stay at home mom, I want to expand my home to people who need care for their animals. Help checking in on them or feeding them or even having them stay if you're traveling. I have a very nice home with an acre of land to let dogs play in. I’m comfortable with walking them as well too if they need exercise!

“This was our first visit with Deanne. Doggy Daycare was a hit! Cash was happy when I picked him up. He was sound asleep on the couch within a 1/2 of getting home. I think he had a busy day with his new lil buddy!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
