My dog stayed in her house for 24 hours, I had videos and messages about how my dog is doing and eating. It is very clean place which was important to me. I know my dog had a lot of fun, she came home very happy and tired. Do not look any further, highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 9 years old, so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I grew up with the sweetest Saint Bernard and have had 5 adorable kitties over the years. I like to call myself a professional cat entertainer. In 2023, I finally got my own fur baby who is spoiled rotten and my favorite thing in the world. I pet and house sit regularly for my friends and neighbors with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and even some horses. Sometimes that means staying overnight because one pup has bad separation anxiety, so I’m comfortable giving extra love and attention. Cats might be my favorite to work with but I love all cuties just the same! I’m working full time and right now, I get off work around 2:30pm. I am available for 30 minutes during the work day on my lunch break and during the afternoon/ nights. I have a large back yard and fenced in pool area for dogs with lots of room in the house for laying, playing, or exploring. I currently do not own a dog so any visiting dogs should bring with their favorite toys for extra entertainment. I am not living in a development but have plenty of walking trails in close proximity, including Big Boyd’s Tree Preserve, Front Street, Fort Hunter, and Wildwood Park. There are 3 cats living in the house who have been acclimated to dogs. We have separate rooms for visiting cats to stay with extra litter boxes, scratching posts, an abundance of toys, and a few humans to play with and love on.

I am available at any time during the weekend. For boarding care: my wife works from home Monday through Friday and has pet sitting experience. You can be sure to receive all of the care and experience as described above! We do have 1, 85 pound neutered male German Shepherd, who loves dogs, cats, and kids, so if your dog loves other dogs, especially big ones, then we are the home for you! If you pet is required to go into a crate daily, I have crate experience and can safely put your pet into the crate when needed. I can walk your pet daily. About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember! My experience with dogs started when I was just 4 years old, when my grandmother raised Cocker Spaniels. Growing up, I was also lucky enough to have dogs and cats of my own, which helped me develop a genuine love and understanding of animals. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and I currently have a shelter dog mix of my own. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member, and I’ll treat your dog with the same care, patience, and affection I give my own. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pup, keep them happy and comfortable, and give them plenty of love and attention while you’re away! 🐾❤️ I’m currently working full time M-F and am home evenings and weekends. I have a routine with my dog so following another routine will be simple! I have a fenced in yard at my home. I also have one dog that is very friendly and loves to play with other dogs.

About: I’ve taken care of cats for 16+ years, my dog for 7 years and counting, and I briefly worked at Canine Clubhouse for almost 2 months. I am available for dog sitting, doggy daycare, and cat sitting since I am a stay at home mom to my 2 amazing boys and I have 1 dog and 2 cats. At home my cats are grazers and eat when they want to and my dog gets fed twice a day with a mix of dry and wet food and has to be let outside on a leash because our backyard is not currently fenced in.

Our dogs are completely happy with no problems while they were visiting Heather and Family. Heather is great at communication and gets back to you right away. We asked for pictures and Heather sent lots of pictures to comfort us knowing our girls were safe and well loved.”

About: We have been married for 37 years and we have always had a dog. Georgie, our Cavapoo,is our fur baby. He’s a spayed 4 year old playful male. We live very close to a dog park where we take him to play often. We have a fenced yard and an acre and a half of green space. My wife and I are retired. We are up till around 11 at night and wake around 8:30. After coffee, we usually play some tennis or lounge by our pool. We take our Cavapoo to the local dog park for outdoor playtime in the evening when the temperature is cooler. We also play indoors through out the day. We sit down to watch tv around 8:00 and Georgie is usually on a lap snoozing. Our home is a non smoking home with CO2/smoke detectors in every room, basement and top floor. Those are all linked so if one goes by off they all go off. The yard is fenced due to a swimming pool. It will be covered in October with a cover that supports my weight. We are in a rural area with deer, squirrels, and various other wildlife. Our children are all adult and we are empty nesters at this point. We are currently not watching our grand sons, though they do drop in to visit.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fort Hunter home-away-from-home, packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fort Hunter.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Fort Hunter sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
