Yasmin and her family were nothing short of perfect. They handled and took care of my Oso as if he were his own family. They went above and beyond to make sure he was well taken care of, nurtured and always happy. He went on walks, trips and they were excellent in also giving him his medication properly and to my exact request. I 1000% recommend and am forever grateful to have found these wonderful people to watch over my beloved Oso! A+++ service an WILL rebook again!!!!

Belinda was so awesome with Ava! She was very communicative and professional. She sent updates everyday on how Ava was doing which included pictures and videos. Her home is beautiful and safe. There is a big fenced backyard. She took Ava for walks. She keeps one dog at a time which I prefer. I highly recommend Belinda. I was able to relax on vacation and know that my Ava was in good hands. Thanks Belinda!

About: I have been loving and taking care of pets for years. I worked at animal shelter for 2 years and that gave me lots of experience with all kinds of animals young ones, old ones, moody ones, happy ones, and more! I have lots of experience with challenging dogs and ones with health issues too. I am currently home for the summer and looking to fill my time loving on some animals 🐾 I do not have any restrictions on time or days. I have a fenced yard and dogs to keep your fur friend company. I have the space to crate your pup if needed, and wood floor for easy clean ups.

I booked at the last minute with Charles cuz the Cruise team and camp resort couldn’t look after my dog who was traveling with us. Charles and his wife are excellent pet sitter. Their dog, Fiona, is also very friendly and well trained. Charles also update in the middle of the sitting time. I can see Lucy had a good time with the host family. Strongly recommended!

We are so grateful for Lynette! We’ve had her take care of our 5 month old yorkie poo twice now, once for a weekend and once just for the day. The true testament to how good she is with our pup was how excited he was to see her when she came back to pick him up the second time! Lynette has been on time, very good at comminicating how things are going, and sends pictures while we’re away. She also took Dobby for walks and sent us a map of where and how far they went. I definitely recommend Lynette, she’s very sweet and you can tell how much she loves dogs and knows how to train and care for them.

Chelsey was amazing to Mozzy. She provided him with kindness, love and a wonderful nights stay. Her home was warm and inviting and she even had grace when Mozzy acted up. She kept us up to date with his behaviors and accomplishments along with several pictures. We enjoyed working with her and we are planning to use her again in the near future. I highly recommend her services for your furry family member.

Josephine recently took care of my 2 standard poodles - 12 years old and 4 years old. The 4 year old was rehomed to me a year ago and is a challenging dog. Josephine was just fantastic with both of them - taking care of the 12 year old's mobility issues and making sure the 4 year old was exercised and entertained. It was so clear from the photos Josephine sent that both pups were having a grand time and we have already booked their next stay!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my two dogs—especially during a stressful time while Beth was recovering from a broken leg. They went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable, safe, and sticking to her medication and recovery routine. I really appreciated the consistent updates, photos, and communication—it gave me so much peace of mind knowing both of my dogs were in such caring and capable hands. It’s clear they genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter!

About: From young age I've been responsible for many types of animals. I have experience with dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, cows and calfs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, iguana, fish, frogs, turtles, salamanders, etc. I currently have one medium dog who lost his litter mate in December 2023. I'm a stay at home dog Mom. We both have lots of energy for walks and hikes. I live on a 1 mile dirt, seasonal, dead end road with lake frontage and massive yard for playing hide and seek in the trees and hunting squirrels. My dog is dog friendly, loves playmates. (No jealousy). In your home care would be provided to your pets as we would discuss with a meet & greet.

My two boys stayed almost a week and definitely were the happiest they have been away from their mom. The photos and videos I got I could just see it in their eyes following her all around her home, getting belly rubs from her children! She even let them sleep with her. It was definitely a vacation for them as it was for me! Already planning their next vacation :)

She was absolutely amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter! Our plans unexpectedly fell through, and she was able to take my dog on such short notice, which was a huge relief. My dog is very anxious and timid around new people, but she was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with him, making sure he felt safe and comfortable throughout his stay. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was being so well cared for. I truly appreciate all the love and attention she gave him, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of my boy!

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Fort Drum

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 41 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Fort Drum. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fort Drum home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fort Drum.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Fort Drum sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
