About: I have 3 dogs, two 14 year old Labrador retrievers and a 5 year old Labrador retriever. I have trained and taken care of my younger dog and continue to provide senior care for my older dogs. This has given me experience with all ages and a diverse range of doggy needs. I currently have an internship from 9-5 but am willing to do any work after 5 including dog walking, delivering care, and dog sitting. I already take care of my three dogs and would happy to accommodate any other dogs into my schedule. In my home, my dogs are walked twice daily and fed twice a day. They are treated with love and respect, helping them to enjoy their all too short life. I will treat my clients with that same respect and hopefully be able to interact with your furry friends!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and even worked at a local animal shelter for two years, giving me experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I also have experience with senior animals, especially administering any special medications including injectable medicines, as my own cat has diabetes and receives insulin shots twice a day. I’m a journalist in the horror entertainment field and I truly miss being around dogs! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, making me able to stop by and check on your pups whenever you need. It really depends on the animal and what they need to feel comfortable! I go into every pet interaction knowing that I’m on that animal’s turf and I need to get to know them before expecting them to be happy/comfortable with me.

About: I had a cat for most of my life (3 cats over many years, each lived to 16 years old) and have now had a sweet pitbull since 2020. I've always loved animals and love caring for them with respect. I work from home most of the time and go downtown two days/week but those days are flexible and, even on those days, I'd be available for a morning and/or evening or late-night walks. I'm happy to care for pets in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I'll follow your instructions closely to keep their routine as normal as possible—whether that’s feeding, walks, medication, or cuddle time. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet like they’re my own. I won't just run in and drop the food--I will enjoy spending some quality time with your pet (if they want!) You can count on me to be on time, respectful of your home, and to keep you updated with notes and photos as much as you like so you can always know your pet is in good hands.

About: I have over a decade of hands-on experience, including 9 years of working for (and eventually managing) a family pet-sitting business and 6 years working in animal welfare. I’ve walked dogs of all sizes and temperaments, provided specialized care for senior pets and shy animals, and fostered both cats and dogs—including those with special needs and those recovering from neglect or trauma. I’m also experienced with small animals, particularly rabbits and hedgehogs. With this background, I bring both expert knowledge and heartfelt care to every visit. Being self-employed, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to prioritize pet care throughout the day and week. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening visits, I’m able to adapt to each pet’s routine. I enjoy making time for animals—it’s a rewarding part of my day and something I genuinely look forward to. I prioritize creating a peaceful, calm, and nurturing environment in each client’s home. I always follow the pet’s routine closely, including feeding, medications, and house rules, and I make sure doors and gates are secure before and after each visit. During walks, I stay alert to surroundings and take care to avoid situations that could stress or endanger the pet. I focus on building trust—both with animals and their humans—by being reliable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs.

“We've had to be away from home for long days for several weeks, and Anibal has been checking in on our dog twice/day almost every day. He is absolutely reliable, communicates extremely well & has been a real lifesaver during these times we've needed someone to keep an eye on our sweet dog.”

About: Rover Hiatus: I highly recommend Stela if you need someone to take care of your furry child https://www.rover.com/sit/stelab29601 I have 10+ years of taking care/spoiling my own little furry man so I totally understand the need to make sure your pet feels pampered and loved. I currently work from home as my full time job so I have more flexibility than the average person. Whenever I’m dog sitting, I take them out for at least 3 times a day. I try to cater to each client and pets individual needs. I make sure to have a complete understanding of each pet and how to best support and foster them.

“Brendan is the best! So patient with our boy!”

Melanie P.
“Melanie looked after my dog and my cats for many years, and I can attest that the quality of her care is excellent. I've known Melanie for many years; she has always had a love for animals, and has rescued more than a few cats and dogs herself. As a person, Melanie is detailed oriented, has excellent time-management skills and has a strong sense of responsibility towards others. She is also very trustworthy, and calm in an emergency. All of these qualities make her a thoughtful, attentive caregiver for pets. Melanie started cat sitting for us in 2011; often combining house sitting (staying at our house) and cat sitting. It was reassuring to know she was in our house, giving the cats lots of attention and time. From 2013-2020, we traveled frequently, hiring Melanie to house sit for us for extended periods of time (2-3 weeks). She was extremely responsible, would email me a few times each week to let me know that all was well and that the cats were thriving. She also took great care of the house, watering plants, retrieving the mail, and generally making sure the house was safe and secure. In 2021, we moved away from the DC Metro Area; one of the hardest aspects to the move was knowing that we were too far away for Mel to cat sit for us. I can't recommend Melanie enough!”

Forest Glen dog parents share their Rover experiences
Andrea did daily walks with our dog and always took great care of her! She was always super communicative if any updates to our schedule needed to be made, and had great knowledge and recommendations for ways to improve our dogs behavior during walks. We would definitely recommend!

Olivia met up with Olga on her own yesterday, first time. Olga's a shy one at first; I really appreciated learning that she patiently coaxed her with some kibble, and persuaded her to go on her walk. The pics were reassuring, and I really liked seeing the one with Olga eating her dinner. I hope Olivia comes back to care for Olga again soon!
