“Shanna was a great sitter! Reliable, understanding, and very helpful. It was the first time we had ever left our cat and he was not on his best behavior. That being said, he was in great hands with Shanna due to her experience and patience. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a high-quality sitter”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have plenty of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, basic routines, and giving pets lots of love and attention while their owners are away. I’m a stay-at-home mom looking to earn a little extra income doing something I genuinely enjoy, and I understand how important it is to have someone dependable and trustworthy caring for a member of your family. I’m a stay-at-home mom, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m home throughout most of the day. This gives me plenty of availability for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention. I’m happy to work with your pet’s normal routine and schedule to help them feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I have a completely fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play, get some fresh air, and have plenty of room to move around. I’m happy to follow any feeding instructions, routines, walking preferences, or household rules you have in place. I’ll provide plenty of attention, affection, and supervision, and I’m always happy to send photos and updates so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“I absolutely love Tanya and Olivia. Not only did they take care of Violet twice a day, but they gave me really nice updates along with pictures so that I could keep up-to-date on how she was doing while I was away. Truly reliable and thoughtful.”

“Absolutely great having Kylee take care of our cat. You can tell she really loves and cares for animals and it showed. She went above and beyond in her service and couldn’t recommend her more!”

“I would highly recommend Therese as your sitter! She is super responsive and sends photos during her visits. She also went out of her way to come pick up a house key when I asked her to come before hand. It is such a relief to know our two cats are safe and in excellent care while we are out of town. We will forever be booking her as long as she is available.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book. Her. Immediately. Brea took exceptional care of our FELV kiddos, Cecil and Carla, and we truly could not have asked for a better sitter. From day one, her updates were thoughtful, detailed, and downright joyful to read — we looked forward to every check-in. She somehow immediately won over our extremely shy Carla (a true miracle), and Cecil — who is known for avoiding dinner — happily ate the food Brea put out for him like an absolute champ. That alone speaks volumes. Brea has such a natural, intuitive way with animals. She built genuine relationships with our cats, gave them so much love, snuggles, playtime, and reassurance, and treated them as if they were her own. Every update left us feeling calm, confident, and so grateful. We came home to happy, settled, well-loved kitties — the ultimate sign of a fantastic sitter. We cannot wait to book Brea again, and we recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone kind, attentive, and truly special. 💛🐾”

“Stephanie does an amazing job. We had her visit our dogs on a drop-in basis. The dogs are shy but she had them coming to her by the end of reservation. Thank you Stephanie for the updates and pictures!!”

About: I have experience caring for pets of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’m very intuitive when it comes to animals and pay close attention to their body language and social cues so I can recognize what they need—whether that’s playtime, affection, a potty break, or simply a little space to feel comfortable. I’m caring, loyal, outgoing, and patient. One thing I’m especially proud of is my ability to connect with pets who may be shy, nervous, or unsure around new people. I never force interaction. I allow pets to come to me on their own terms and build trust at their pace. I’ve had pet parents surprised by how quickly their normally hesitant pets warm up to me! My home is a calm, quiet, and safe environment where your pet can relax and feel comfortable. I believe in healthy boundaries, which is why pets are kept out of my kitchen for their safety and to prevent them from getting into anything that may accidentally fall on the floor. I also never give pets human food and will follow the feeding schedule and instructions you provide. And there is definitely room for fun! 🐾 I’m happy to take your pup for walks, let them enjoy my safe backyard, snuggle with them on the couch, or get right down on the floor and play at their level. Sometimes that means I’m rolling around on the floor right along with them! I can also administer medications when needed and will carefully follow your instructions. I never use force with an animal and always treat each pet as an individual. My goal is simple: to give your pet a safe, loving, comfortable place where they receive the attention, affection, playtime, and care they deserve while you’re away. ❤️ I'm available for boarding weekdays and weekends after 3 p.m. I work full-time remote, so I can give your pups regular potty and play breaks. I have a fence yard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur babies happy. I will always have fresh water to hydrate your baby.
“Cris was absolutely AMAZING! From 2 weeks before my absence and through my absence she exceeded my expectations every step of the way! My dogs were very apprehensive of a new person but she did EVERYTHING she could thing of to make them feel comfortable and loved. My dogs enjoyed having her take care of them and they were well taken care of. I HIGHLY recommend Cris! I can't say enough good things about her, her kindness, and her absolute passion for taking care of pets.”

“When our scheduled sitter ended up being a no show, I turned to Rover and found Kylene who was willing to take a last minute request over the holidays and was absolutely amazing! She was great with our kitties and everything was managed perfectly. Can't wait to use her services again and highly recommend her!!”

“Wonderful and always communicated and sent pictures. Have already rebooked with her. Cant say thanks enough for her willingness to drive to a decent remote area of Arizona to help with my dog and cat. It takes a lot of stress off regarding my busy schedule.”

“I feel confident that my dog is in great hands. She is older and a bit fragile but I know Anne and Joaquin are attentive to her needs and are taking great care of her. I also appreciate their timeliness with communication.”

“Mckenzie was awesome! My pups loved her. She visited everyday, Just as expected. I received pictures and notes after each visit. She followed all of our instructions and communicated very well!”

About: I have been the go to for many families to take care of their fur babies for many years. I have walked dogs bigger than me, given medicine to blind cats, and helped elderly dogs find their way outside. I am an online college student who would love to have your pets keep me company while I complete my classes. My schedule is very open to be able to give your fur baby the attention they deserve. I adapt so your pet doesn't have to. I can get up early or stay up late to meet their needs. Everyone has a different schedule I can adjust to to make the transition easier on their pets.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 562 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Florence. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Florence. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
