“My sweet Lexi loved al the attention she received. My house was in perfect order when I returned home. And most importantly I got lots of updates while I was away. Kristi did a great job and I would definitely recommend her to my family and friends”
About: I have 5 years of experience working in the veterinary field, so I’m comfortable providing medications and administering shots as needed. I’m also able to recognize potential medical concerns or changes in your pet’s condition and know when something may need further attention.Beyond medical care, I genuinely love spending time with animals! I enjoy playing with pets, giving them plenty of attention, and I’m happy to prepare their food according to their specific needs or routines. Most importantly, I will care for your pet or pets as if they were my own—with patience, love, and plenty of attention to their individual needs. My schedule is completely open right now. Genuinely, any time of day works for me, so feel free to pick whatever time is most convenient for you! I’m able to do any at-home visits! I do have a double-fenced-in yard and two very friendly dogs. However, if anything were to take place at my home, my dogs can easily stay completely separated from your pet. I’m happy to accommodate whatever makes you and your pet most comfortable!
“You can trust Bella. She was super communicative and so organized. She even kept a journal of how many treats our 3 babies got. Our house was in better shape than we left it. Our flight got significantly delayed and Bella stepped in and stayed an extra night and took so much stress off a stressful situation. So grateful we found her. We will definitely have her take care of our house and animals again.”

About: I probably get along with dogs more than I do people. I've grown up with many, and have rescued most of the ones I have owned. Dogs are so much more than pets to me, they are family! They are such a big part of my life that I even went to school to become a vet assistant. However, life interfered and I never acquired my certificate (out of time frame, I passed my tests?). In the past two years, I’ve acquired my CCMA, and am studying now to become an RN. I love taking care of people and pets. :) I have experience pet sitting as well as working at a doggy daycare-one of my favorite jobs! Now I have bigger bills to pay, and children to take care of. However, I loved it so much that I would like to get back into doing this on the side. It’s a win-win for the both of us, because I get doggo lovings, and you get your doggo taken care of!

About: Kind, caring, responsible adult with experience caring for various animals and/Or houses. Very professional and clean sitter looking for opportunities to work with similar clients. About: I absolutely love both cats and dogs. I am willing to care for animals in my home or your home, whichever you prefer. I am available for long term and short time care. I am currently working part time but would prefer pet sitting. With enough bookings I would be able to quit my part time job. My shifts right now are mostly 3 to 6 hours. I have a small fenced yard if you prefer your pets stay at my home. My back door has access to the fenced yard. Your pets would have free reign of my home including furniture and beds.
“Debby is a wonderful sitter! She cared for our animals and our home with love and care. We have a special needs older dog and we are very careful when choosing to leave her with anyone due to her issues. Debby was willing to give extra attention to our special baby and was able to care for her needs. We are so fortunate to have found her and we hope to have her again and again with our precious girls!”

About: I recently left teaching profession to care for my 88 year old mom. My husband, Rob, was USAF grad and former 26 year Special Ops pilot. We traveled and had many animals over the years. We've been married 43 years. Now we have small farm in the country with she, hogs, dogs, cats, chickens and more. However i stay in a home currently with my handicapped mom about 10 minutes away. I recently moved off farm and into my mom's home due to her care. I care for my daughter's two dogs until she is out of nursing school next year. A 4 year old Pembroke Corgi named Cash, and a 12 year boxer named Sassy. We are located just north of Crestview, in Heritage Plantation. There is a huge yard, and a sectioned area for separation if needed and to keep main area of back yard free of "poo". Plenty of space, and company for any dogs so they won't miss owners too much. I currently have flexible schedule with substituting and real estate. I am home consistently. I will be home most days of the week. Your dog will be loved on by my mom and I. I have 3/4 acre yard which has been sectioned off into two zones for dogs to do their business and the rest for play. I also have two kennels for sleeping or separating if needed. There is a clean and soft camp mattress available for your pet at will. Plenty of toys and my daughter's two dogs are calm yet playful.
“Kerry was great to have house sit for Murphy, who is a 12 yo chihuahua. She sent pictures everyday and he looked very content! I would recommend Kerry to anyone looking in the area. I will definitely use Kerry again!!”

About: I have 3 dogs small and large. All super well taken care of and walk atleast a mile everyday. I also groom my own pets every month. I make sure that all my pups and me get our daily exercise together by taking walks or runs. I always plan my schedules for the week around my dogs and the time I need with them. I give them so much love and get all the exercise and energy they need in the day out. They are my number 1 priority
“Shelby was great with our fur babies, she is an excellent pet/house sitter. We were gone for 5 days and she texted & sent pictures am/pm. We had great peace of mind knowing that Mia and O'lover were in good hands. In fact, when we arrived home my kids looked a little disappointed it was us and not Shelby...lol. Thanks Shelby for loving up our kiddos.”

About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was 4 we recently just had to put down our 15 year old pit Bull. I have a 10 year old pit mix that I hold near my heart. I hope as you look at my profile and see me you also believe that I will treat your dog as one of my own and give them the best care while you are away. As of right now I work from home, so that means I am free all day to give your dog the love and care they deserve! I do not have a fenced in yard but i am a couple blocks down from a dog friendly park that we could walk to or even just play in the spacious back yard. I also have a friendly fur baby who would love making a new friend.
“Jordan recently house sat for us and took care of our greyhound. She did a great job! Our poor dog had just broken her toe and was in a splint, so she required extra care and medication. We could not have asked for better care. She is highly recommended and we are looking forward to using her services again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 285 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Flomaton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Flomaton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Flomaton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Flomaton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Flomaton. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
