“Shawn and Melissa were SO great! They let us come over and meet them and their sweet pup a week before dropping our dog off! They were more than welcoming and our dog had a blast. Thank you again!!”

“Becca was awesome! We felt completely at ease leaving our Stella with her for the week. Becca provided us with regular updates and cute pics and we appreciate the love and attention she gave our lil sweet girl! Have already booked her for another week 😊 Definitely would recommend Becca to anyone looking for a kind, caring person to look after their fur babies!”

“Alayna was excellent to work with. I have a 4 month old puppy with lots of energy. He loved visiting her house in the country, chasing bugs, and playing with her dog. I received pictures every day with little update notes. She kept up with my crate training at night, and when our flight home was delayed several hours, she was flexible with our pick up time. We will definitely be visiting her again and I would highly recommend her services.”

“Ryleigh was great. She's a genuine animal lover. She boarded my kitty for a week and everything went smoothly. She sent photo updates, which was greatly appreciated since I was pretty nervous about sending my cat off to be boarded for the first time. I will definitely reach out and have her board my cat again if the situation arises. Thanks Ryleigh!”

“Infinity is amazing!!! She took great care of my pup and was very attentive. She was also communicative and sent me updates everyday which I really appreciated. Pup got lots of love and came back home tired. We will definitely be using again!”

“Jania and her family are awesome. All the love and security your pet needs for a weekend away. Lots of pictures and messages bring us peace of mind. This was our second time using her. We don’t see ourselves using anyone else.”

“First time using a dog sitter and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better experience!!! He sent us lots of pictures and updates on how the dogs were doing while we were away.”

About: Finding pet care can be an anxiety inducing experience. My job is to provide pet parents with total comfort and peace of mind knowing that their fur babies are being well taken care of while they are away. Hey there! My name is Kayla and I am a 30 year old childless cat (and dog) lady. I have spent my entire life around animals and wouldn't have it any other way. We always had dogs while growing up, which eventually grew into also having cats, mice, lizards, etc. I turned this personal love of animals into a profession by spending many years working in pet boarding/daycare facilities, pet shelters, and by pet sitting on the side. I have been around so many different kinds of pet personalities and temperaments and strive to approach each animal appropriately to keep everyone safe and comfortable. I have also had much experience with special needs and senior pets. A big part of my job is it keep owners updated on any concerns I have or to ask important questions, so you never miss a beat of what is going on with your furry companion while you are gone. I pride myself in having a ton of heart and genuine care for any animal I come into contact with, and promise to treat your fur baby as my own - belly rubs and treats included! I currently work full time, 9-5 M-F. I will have plenty of time in the late afternoon/evening to care for your pets, as well as open availability Saturday and Sunday I will care for your fur baby just like he or she is my own! I'm good at following instructions of care and sticking to the routine they are used to. Plenty of belly rubs and walks included!
“Kara took such great care of my dog! She provided regular updates and sent photos. I look forward to bringing Mabel back in the future. It's such a relief finding a good sitter!”

About: With hands-on experience working at Kenl Inn in Lincoln, NE, I’ve gained valuable experience caring for dogs and providing them with the attention, patience, exercise, and love they deserve. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I’m committed to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I am available throughout the week and weekends to care for your furry family! I will prioritize your pets needs and comfort while you are away. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, I provide personalized, loving attention based on their individual needs and routine. I make sure they receive fresh food and water, exercise, playtime, potty breaks, medication when needed, and plenty of love and companionship. I also keep their environment clean, safe, and comfortable so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“We have used Emily and her lovely family to care for our senior dog on 2 different occasions and we will not hesitate to reach out again if needed. They have been so flexible and kind both times. I appreciate the great and timely communication. It can be a little nerve wracking leaving an older dog (with some issues) but Emily made us feel very comfortable! 10/10 recommend!”

About: We’re excited to watch your sweet pups! We promise to take pics, give them lots of love, and take care of them as if they were our own. I’ll stop home for lunch to take care of your dog! We’ll give them a walk in the morning and at lunch and time to relax in the evening. No fenced yard so we’ll keep your dog on a leash and take them for walks around the neighborhood. They are free to snuggle up anywhere they like.
“Abigail did a fantastic job watching my dog, Asher, while I was on vacation. She provided daily updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Abigail was reliable and also showed genuine care and affection for Asher. It was evident that Asher enjoyed his time with her, and I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. I highly recommend Abigail for anyone looking for a trustworthy and dedicated person to care for their pet!”

Let me know what works best for you and your pet! I have a spacious, unfenced yard and two friendly pups who would love to keep your pet company during a sleepover. About: Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a lifelong animal lover who truly enjoys caring for pets as if they were my own. I’ve had my own dogs of all breeds since I was a toddler, worked in kennels, and assisted at the vet clinic, so I’m very experienced in what pets need and how to make them feel the most loved! Whether your dog wants a cozy cuddle buddy, a calm and patient walker, or a fun adventure partner, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I know how important routine and comfort are, so I always keep things consistent and fun and maintain very open communication. You’ll get plenty of updates, photos, and reassurance. Your fur baby is in kind, reliable hands with me! I am a new mom that is looking to fill my time loving your animals! I do work some, so I would be available to take care of them before or after work, but I am also home frequently throughout the day! We can chat about your pets needs before booking :) As someone who adores their pets like family, I also know how hard it is to trust someone with my pups, so I make it high priority to ensure every pet is treated the same with me as they would be at home with their own family. This will look different for each pup as I learn what your family routine and expectations are!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Firth home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Firth.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Firth sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
