“Wendy and Jacob were wonderful to work with! We had to leave our dog, Maple, with them for a week, shortly after a long move to the area. Before and upon returning they kept us updated with how Maple was handling the transition with texts and photos. Our dog loved her stay with them and was happy, healthy and her anxiety seemed way less then when we left her! We will definitely use Wendy and Jacob again for future stays!”

“Ashley was amazing! She sent multiple pictures throughout the day of Lou cuddling, walking, napping, and all. She gave daily updates, was flexible with pickup and drop off times as we communicated. She sent Lou home with a goody-bag and invited her back. I could tell Lou felt loved and comfortable while we were away. I will definitely be calling on Ashley again!”

“Carolyn is amazing!! She cared for my babies for 2.5 days and sent me pics every day! She was very sweet to my babies and was easy to reach. I felt comfortable not having to worry about them!”

“Our dog Sam had an amazing experience staying with Isabelle and Fred. It was short notice, and they made it an amazing experience throughout. They took such good care of him, even made him Christmas dog treats! Highly recommend”

About: I have been around animals since I was a baby, I have 19 years of pet experience. We have a small farm. I’ve also helped my mom on rover for the past few months. I am currently helping my mother with Rover so my schedule is pretty flexible. When you book with either of us you will receive 3 adults giving your babies the upmost care and respect. I have a fenced 3 acre yard and 3 friendly dogs to keep your babies company. I have crates and means of separation if that is necessary. We treat our company like family, they are allowed on furniture and able to sleep with us unless told otherwise.
“Kelly and her family are amazing! I have used her 3 times and will always continue to reach out to her first! She is great with communication and pictures that make you smile when you are miles away from your babies.”

“Leslie did a great job keeping me updated and sending pictures! Millie seems like she had a blast, and she even cleaned her up after playing in the mud. Very much appreciate her taking care of my golden while I was out of town. Would definitely recommend :)”

“This was my puppy’s first experience boarding overnight. She was very comfortable going with Mandy and got along well with her dogs. I will definitely use Mandy again for either boarding or sitting for a couple hours while we do errands.”

“Our dogs had a great weekend with Georgia and her pet family. She sent us photos and videos of our dogs throughout their stay. We will definitely use Georgia again for our pet needs. Thank you!”

“I was so nervous about leaving my dog with anyone, but Heidi not only made me feel comfortable leaving him with her, she updated me with photos and videos while I was away. It was so nice to see my little guy happy and enjoying his time with play, food, and sleeping. Thank you Heidi! Super Rock Star!”

“Eileen and Jeff took great care of Penny! Multiple updates and photos throughout the day including their adventures. They have lots of extra pet beds and toys to play and snuggle in. When our next vacation comes around we’ll definitely be returning! Thank you!”

“Absolutely delightful family! I would leave my boy with them again in a heart beat. My guy had some tummy troubles ans it was his first time being away from us and Ashely instinctively knew what yo do and had such great patience. 💕 I really trust her judgement and I can tell she has alot of experience caring for dogs… and humans! Her daughters are soooo sweet and gentle. Your baby will be loved, respected, and cared for with this family.”

“Katherine was absolutely wonderful, and we will definitely be booking with her again. She is calm, patient, and truly understands how to work with reactive and anxious dogs. She made our dogs feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. She also had great communication throughout our time away, sending text and picture updates every morning and evening, which gave us peace of mind. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Katherine!”

“Laura and Robert were fantastic to work with and took great care of our pup! They had wonderful communication while we were away, giving timely updates throughout our pups stay.”

“Abigail was amazing while I was on my trip. She sent so many pictures, went on daily walks, and had a beautiful yard with a doggy pool for them to play in. Highly recommend!”

“Kellie was a fantastic puppy sitter for our mini Golden, Birdie. She and her family (and two Golden Retrievers) were kind and welcoming and Birdie was immediately being loved by the kids and playing with the dogs. Kellie sent me “pupdates”, messages and photos, a few times a day to keep me in the loop. And She was very quick to respond whenever I messaged her. Birdie came home tired and happy and we look forward to her next slumber party with Kellie and her family. I highly recommend Kellie as a caring, confident and fun dog sitter!”

“We have Kate booked in September for Otto’s first stay but due to a death in the family we had to leave town last minute so I contacted her and she agreed to take Otto. When we got there we were greeted with excitement from her daughters and we knew he was going to get love. Kate sent pictures of Otto playing with a toy, getting snuggles and with his new friend. When we got him home he was tired which tells me he had fun. I would totally recommend Kate!”

“This is the second time we have taken our dog, Millie to stay with Cheryl. Millie tends to have a little anxiety, but even after a year she remembered Cheryl and felt comfortable. Millie usually doesn’t eat much when we leave her at a house, but Cheryl supplemented homemade dogfood into Millie’s food (after asking our permission of course), and Millie thrived. She gave us the recipe to use after if we choose to do so. Cheryl doted on Millie, sent us photos daily, and was quick to respond if we had questions. When we come back to Spokane, we will without a doubt ask Cheryl to take care of Millie again. We highly recommend her!”

“Cheyenne was amazing to work with and took such good care of our boy, Jedi! He was almost sad to leave I could tell. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Fir Grove home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Fir Grove.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Fir Grove sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
