About: I am a dog and cat person. Mine are always spoiled and treated like they’re my children. I would treat yours with love and kindness too. I currently don’t have any dogs but have had different breeds over the years. I am a special education teacher, so special needs dogs I have a soft spot for and do have experience with. I have a 11 year old cat but he is gated off in his own section of the house. If your dog likes the couch, bed, music, tv, I can accommodate. I can also work with other special needs. So far this has been a blast getting to know your dogs. My repeat customers have become furry family members. They become very comfortable in my home very quickly. Please read the reviews. I am your dog's home away from home. Give me a call and let's see what I can do for you. Thank you. Starting August 12, 2024 I will be going back to school teaching. At that time I do not wish to take on new clients. My regular clients can still use me, but know that no one will be home from 8-3 during the week. I do not have a fenced yard at this time but will walk your dog leashed in my yard or neighborhood. Will provide playtime and comfort.

About: I’ve spent the past eight years caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments from energetic puppies to large, strong dogs and older pets needing a gentler pace and I’m completely comfortable adapting to each one’s needs. Over time, I’ve learned how important consistency, patience, and understanding behavior are, whether that means handling high-energy walks, reinforcing routines, or helping a nervous dog feel at ease. What sets me apart is that I don’t just walk or check in and leave—I take the time to build trust, give them attention, and make sure they feel safe and cared for. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every dog like my own, so you can feel confident they’re in good hands. Pet care and pet sitting fit seamlessly into my schedule, allowing me to be flexible and dependable for both regular visits and last-minute needs. With more availability during the current season and upcoming summer, I’m able to offer consistent care, longer visits, and more time for walks, play, and attention. This flexibility benefits clients by ensuring their pets maintain a stable routine, get extra exercise, and receive reliable, attentive care while they’re away, especially during busy travel months. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pets. I always prioritize safety, follow your instructions closely, and keep you updated with messages and photos so you know your pet is happy and doing well. I’m respectful of your space, dependable, and treat your home and pets with the same care I give my own. When pet sitting, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine to keep things stress-free. This typically includes feeding on schedule, fresh water, walks or litter box care, playtime or companionship, and any medications if needed. I also do quick check-ins around the home (like making sure everything is secure) and send regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to keep everything as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away.

Monica was truly incredible and one of the best experiences we’ve ever had with a pet sitter. She stayed in our home for four evenings caring for our 3 dogs, our cat, and even our fish, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She sent consistent photo and text updates, which gave us so much peace of mind and made it easy to actually relax while we were away. She went above and beyond in so many ways that made a real difference. She washed her dishes, did the hand towels she used, took the time to get our cat’s fountain running again using somewhat tedious directions, and even handled cleaning up some unexpected basement flooding after a major storm. Everything was taken care of thoughtfully and without us having to worry. We came home to a house that looked and smelled incredible. It was spotless, organized, and she paid attention to the smallest details, like setting lights back exactly how we had left them. It genuinely felt like walking into a calm, cared-for space instead of coming home to a to-do list. This experience honestly felt so much better than having a friend or family member help out. There was no guilt, no worrying about being a burden, and no second guessing anything. Monica is clearly experienced and professional, and it shows in how smoothly everything was handled from start to finish. On top of everything else, she is just a genuinely kind, warm, and easy person to communicate with. I was honestly a little sad we didn’t get more time to be home and connect with her because she is such a joy to be around. We tried to make her feel welcome with snacks, cash, and a few small take-home gifts, but it still doesn’t feel like enough compared to the level of care she gave our home and our pets. Monica was truly a gift, and we will absolutely be rebooking with her any chance we get.

About: My years of experience is for professional experience. Years personal experience is well over 20. I’ve had pets all my life growing up from exotics to cats and dogs. Professionally I’ve been a pet groomer (can do small animals, dogs and cats) and a shift manager at a pet store where I was a pet specialist, dog groomer, and pet nutritionalist. I have experience with fish, dogs, cats, pocket pets (hamsters, rats, mice, Guinea pigs, rabbits ect.), reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, arachnids. I have certifications in pet grooming, animal body language, and pet care. Formerly a fear certified pet groomer (not activity grooming anymore but I plan to get that back). Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have. I’m going to school full time all online so when pet sitting I am able to take my course work with me while I take care of your pets. I will follow all instructions, I have slip leads that I will use over the collars so that way if anything happens during walks outside there’ll be extra protection. I will pick up after your dog. Make sure water is available 24/7 and make sure feeding schedules are on time. I can also take care of exotic pets, fish, and I have an amazing green thumb! So even your plants will get the best care.

About: Hey Pet Parents! My name is Juliana and I hold a lot of significant experience in caring for pets! First off, I am a full time student at Ohio Northern University where I currently am apart of the Polar Paws program as a Secondary Trainer. This program allows college students to care for and train future service dogs. As a secondary trainer, I would work with various dogs on campus by training and sitting them while their primary caretaker is busy. Prior to university, I volunteered at the Van Wert County Humane Society where I worked with cats and dogs of all ages and all breeds. This consisted of walking the dogs, cleaning cages, cleaning litter boxes, playing with the animals, etc. Currently I am available anytime during the day and anytime of the week, until I update my availability when I need to go back to campus. I care for pets as if they are children. They need attention, respect, and when being babysat, a good time! That being said, in my own home they have access to their own food, water, play area, and have set potty breaks. In a clients home, the same will apply. Any alternative toys, medications, and food can be used most definitely if requested by client. Always a clean and tidy environment before and after.

About: Hi, my name is Lilie! I've taken care of dogs and cats since I was little and love to be around them. I am currently in school for Medical Ultrasound so I am pretty busy, but if you need someone to watch your pet during nights, mornings, or weekends I’m you’re girl! I have 4 dogs and 2 cats of my own and I have experience working in a doggy daycare for 2 years, so you can be sure that your animal is in good hands :) I’m currently in clinicals full time during the week, so I work 4 10 hour shifts sometime Monday-Friday. Every other weekend I work a part time job from 5:30 in the morning to 1 or 2 in the afternoon Saturday and Sunday. If you are willing to work around these hours, I would love to take care of your animals and help out where I can! I usually like to do a visit before with pet owners to see if I’m a good match for them. Also, I will never take on more than one job at a time so I will always be able to give your pets my full time and attention. When booking me for housesitting, I can stay at your house and watch your animal or I can come by to check on them at set times. I do not offer any services in my own home.

About: I’ve had very many different types of dogs in our family through the years. I’ve raised dogs from 6 weeks old to senior. I have experience with giving dogs medicine and following special meal schedules. I have stayed over with dogs and cats for family and friends while they were on vacation, etc. for 20+ years. I absolutely love all animals and promise to love yours too! This is my only source of employment so I can be really flexible and accommodating to your needs and your pet’s needs. Whether it be for potty breaks, taking your pet for a walk, abiding by food/medication schedules, or extended stays. I am available to sit in your home to keep your pet feeling as comfortable and safe as possible. I am familiar with building trust with dogs as well. If you don’t need a daily/nightly sitter, you can count on me to potty your dog at a minimum of every 4 hours.

Bobbie went over and above with all my pets. Oliver is blind and still acts like a puppy so he can be a handful but Bobbie and her family treated him like one i or f their own. I could tell that he was super comfortable in their care. She took the best possible care of Dottie and Toby as well. Bobbie was awesome with the daily pics and updates and was very flexible with our vacation schedule. We’ll be using her on our next vacation for sure.

FAQs for House Sitting - Findlay

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Findlay on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 165 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Findlay. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Findlay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Findlay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Findlay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Findlay. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
