“Candace was a great sitter! Her parents were helpful as well. Cassie was in good hands and was well taken care of. We were so thankful they accommodated us picking up Cassie after our evening flight.”

“A little far out but definitely worth it for our dog to have such a wonderful farm environment to roam and play. Maribel and Carl are wonderful and so attentive to dogs in their care! They carefully acclimate your dog to their farm property and then give them the opportunity to run and frolic with other dogs (on long leads). The kennel area attached to the house is a clean secure place for dogs to rest after exercise. Big plus; they send you pictures daily of the fun and rest times your dog is having! If you're looking for an adventuresome place to leave your dog while on vacation I highly recommend Maribel and Carl's farm haven!”

“John was very kind and accommodating through adjustments I had to make regarding my trip and my booking for dog sitting. And, he took such good care of my Tilly, updating me daily.”

“Shannon was a superhost for our dog, who has separation anxiety, but in a short time Shannon had her relaxed and chilling on the couch. Shannon was both understanding and accommodating with a change in our schedule. We appreciated her experience and loved the pictures.”

“Samantha and her family are amazing! We started with a meet and greet before leaving my pups there for a weekend and everything went great. While we were gone, we received many updates and pictures throughout the day of them playing and hanging out. They truly make your dogs part of their own family from drop off time to pick up!”

“Jody was fantastic, got my girl in last minute and was very knowledgeable and had so much room for my pup to play and roam!! Plus make some new doggy friends! She also took some adorable videos! Already am booking again!! Highly recommend!”

“Theresa was great with sending pics and updates about my Howard, who spent 3 days and nights with she and her husband Chuck. Howard was well taken care of, he enjoyed playing with their dogs, and Theresa was so sweet and accommodating. Will definitely use her for boarding again in the future!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Lydia was amazing with my pups , she sent updates, videos and pictures the whole time. We will definitely be using her for all our trips out of town from now on. I would give 10 stars if I could!!!”

“Angela was wonderful! She took such great care of our dog Bailey while we were away. We received lots of pictures and frequent updates. Great communication. Angela was very flexible and helpful! We certainly hope to work with her again! Thank you!”

“We had to book with Kayla pretty much as last minute as you could get. Our original Rover didn’t work out and we needed to find somewhere quick. Kayla was super communicative and easy going! Her other dogs are all so sweet and well trained. It was a great socialization experience for our dog. She sent us so many videos and pictures throughout the booking. We loved Kayla and would recommend her 1000x over”

About: I've watched dogs and cats with all different personalities and needs (i.e. blind, diabetic, anxious, etc.). I believe in understanding a pet's needs from the perspective of the pet and responding with compassion. I work full time, but can usually work from home if needed. I will talk with you before we commit to pet sitting to ensure my schedule works for your needs (if that's getting off early, working from home every day during the time of the sitting, going home over lunch for a walk, etc). I have no fur babies (or kids) of my own, so your babies will get my undivided attention and I will shower them with all the love I wish I could give to my own fur baby if I had one. (Know I recognize that love looks different for different critters - for some it may mean keeping a respectful distance!)

“We highly recommend David! This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous about leaving our dog, Olive, for a whole week with someone we didn't know. After meeting David, our fears dissipated and we felt pretty confident that Olive would enjoy her stay. David has a calm, gentle demeanor, and Olive seemed relaxed around him from the beginning. We enjoyed the daily pictures of Olive that he texted to us. We will definitely ask David again if we need someone to watch our dog!”

“We are so happy with Lupin's first stay with Emily! We had to go out of town for a funeral only a week after adopting Lupin so we were nervous about his reaction to a new environment so soon after bringing him home, but Emily was great and put us at ease right from the start. She kept us apprised of all his activities, including his interactions with other pets, and sent updates and pictures which let us know he was in good hands. Lupin had a great time and we are very happy with our first experience with Rover. Thank you Emily!”
“They loved my strong dog! He doesn't pull for me but he pulls for everyone else! Second time using these kind people and this time they helped me last min! So thankful!”

“Kayleigh and her children treated my dog like he was one of theirs .Communication was great she gave me updates to help my anxiety as well . Zeus came back home with out a cough which was definitely a plus for me . I will definitely be going to her again”

Maribel and Carl were so lovely and took excellent care of my boy! They sent me updated and pictures while Oliver stayed with them which was super appreciated. They also made sure he got some exercise and let him splash in the river that runs through his property. Amazing care!

Miko always has a great time at Maribel's and Carl's. They have a delightful farm with lots of room to romp. Miko enjoys their walks down to the river. He always seems sad to leave and excited to go. They also do a great job of communicating and sending photos of our furry son and are flexible when travel plans change!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
