“Gracie has taken care of my dog Bowser multiple times and I couldn’t have anything better to say! I can tell he is so loved and well cared for when he’s with her. He’s always a happy little guy when I come to get him. She has helped me pretty last minute a couple of times now and I couldn’t be more grateful. If you have a pup, you can trust that Gracie will not only take care of them, but she will make sure they are so, so happy. I highly recommend her for boarding or doggy daycare!”

My availability it pretty well open during the weekdays to be able to assist for you & your pet's needs. I have an open back yard (1 acre) for your doggo to run & play. Indoors we have a large sectional that everyone likes to pile up on & snuggle. I also have puppy pads to use indoor & can also crate your pupper if you prefer, but I usually prefer not to confine the fur babies.

“Max had an awesome time at doggy day care with Daniel and Angela while I was working out of state! 🐾 Their home is so warm and welcoming—it’s the perfect pup retreat. They treated Max like one of their own and sent us thoughtful updates throughout the day (which totally made my day!). Max was all smiles when we picked him up and seemed pretty proud of himself for making new buddies—Barley and Greta, their two sweet terriers. They even let us know how much he ate, which this dog mom really appreciated. 10/10 would book again—Max gives them two paws up! 🐶💛”

“Jax gets excited every time he sees Paul. He gets lots of attention and plenty of exercise throughout the day. Paul is also great at working with Jax in obedience training throughout the day!”

About: From fostering dogs with heartworm and post-surgery needs to building trust with the most timid rescues, I’ve cared for dogs in all kinds of situations. My experience goes beyond the basics—I understand how to read body language, support anxious pups, and manage specialized routines with patience and care. I hold a PhD in Nutrition, and while my focus has been on human health, I bring that same passion and knowledge to giving animals the healthy, happy lives they deserve. I’m attentive, experienced, and deeply committed to the well-being of every dog in my care. I can’t replace you in your dog’s life, but I can give you both the peace of mind you deserve while you're apart--whether it be for days at a time or just a short walk. I work mostly remotely, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My own dog gets three walks a day—totaling about 90 minutes—and we rarely miss one. I’m happy to include your dog in those walks or adjust the schedule based on their energy level and routine. Because I’m home most of the time, I can offer a calm, consistent environment and plenty of attention. I’m flexible and always aim to cater to each dog’s individual needs—whether that means playtime, quiet companionship, or extra potty breaks. In my home, pets are treated like family—often even better than the humans! 😄 I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, so there’s plenty of room for dogs to feel comfortable and move around freely. Dogs are always welcome on the bed and couches, and I keep fresh water available in every room to make sure they stay hydrated and happy. Whether it’s in my home or yours, I aim to create a calm, cozy environment where each dog feels safe, loved, and completely at ease. I follow any routines or preferences you provide and always pay close attention to each dog’s comfort and well-being.

“Davis is awesome. Puppies were happy and slept most of the ride home. Davis will be my first choice when I’m in Birmingham again. She’s a trooper, providing service on a difficult day! Thanks, Davis!”

About: I’m Jessica! Sitter and caregiver to your pets! I also do short term fostering and am a cat kennel assistant volunteer at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. My husband and I have two dogs, Maki (Brindle Belgian Malinois mix) & Turbo (American Staffordshire Terrier/Black Lab mix) who are sweet, goofy, smart babies. Totally spoiled! Many of the pet pics are with my husband, Joe, bc I never get good ones of myself apparently ha. Not only did I grow up in a pet loving family that allowed me to get to know and love many different breeds and types of fur babies, but I have been trusted to pet sit by friends, neighbors, and relatives many many times over the years. Several of the photos up are of foster pups and of some I’ve rescued. Some of my skills include potty training, social training, aggression correction with puppies, recognizing early illness symptoms and care. I’m trained to watch, recommend and act when medical treatment is needed. I also have experience administering oral, topical, and injectable medications with dogs and cats. I live in a neighborhood perfect for walking your pup. I also enjoy hiking the trails at ruffner mountain. I offer cuddles and companionship for the pup or kitty that prefers laps and affection over walks or hikes. I don’t mind sitting at my home or yours. I stay home and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to give a lot of attention to your pet and accommodate most plans! Respect to pets in their home is always given on my part. It’s your pets home and they should always feel safe! I will listen to the guidelines you give me and do my absolute best to be a trusted safe space person to your pet. I’ll spend as much time as your pet needs! I have a fenced back yard and two friendly pups that love to play. I also have indoor crates for mine and guests to be safely separated.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my deep understanding and love for animals. I believe that pets are not just animals but they are members of the family. Therefore, I treat them with the same care and respect as their owners would. I stay home most of the day so the pet is not left alone for any extended amount of time and if I am not home then they will be in the area I keep my dogs. Firstly, I ensure that pets have access to clean water and food at all times. Secondly, they should be given regular exercise and playtime as per their breed and age requirements. Thirdly, it is crucial to maintain good hygiene by keeping their living space clean and grooming them regularly.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, my mom and grandmother started the humane society in my hometown so we have always taken care of animals. I will take care of your dog like it was my own. I love all animals but especially dogs! I currently work from home so I am available to watch your dog during the day or overnight boarding. I can do drop ins or walks after 4pm. My wife is a RN so she is home 4 days a week to help watch and play with your dog also! Someone will always be available to supervise your pet and can update you with pictures through their stay! I have a fenced in yard and a dog door so they have access to come in and out as they please. I also have a big energetic German shepherd lab mix that will play with your dog all day! We have daily frisbee tosses and fetch in the backyard.

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had dogs, and I quickly became the go-to dog walker in the neighborhood. In college, I volunteered with the local humane society, where I spent time walking dogs and taking them on fun “puppy dates” every day. I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments—and animals tend to feel naturally safe and comfortable around me. More recently, I’ve also become a big cat person! I didn’t grow up with cats, but I adopted one two years ago and have absolutely fallen in love. Whether it’s a playful pup or a snuggly cat, I’m here to provide loving, attentive care while you’re away. I’m fully available all day, every day for walks, check-ins, or extended pet care. I’m going online school until August 26th and have a very flexible schedule! My home is very pet-friendly and a great environment for animals! I have one dog—an English Lab—who is sweet, well-behaved, and uses an electric fence. I also have a cat who gets along great with dogs. We live in a dog-loving neighborhood where people are always out walking their pets, and my dog has regular playdates with the neighborhood pups. It’s a fun, safe, and social environment for any visiting pets!

“Doug did a great job taking care of our dog, Paisley! We were visiting family and needed a sitter in a pinch (during a holiday weekend no less) and Doug was super quick to respond and help us out. He provided nice updates with photos, and it was clear Paisley had a great time and was well taken care of. He even took the extra effort to replace her ball when she lost it the bushes while playing outside. Would definitely use Doug again.”

“Emily was so sweet! She was able to take our dog, Dixie, so I could attend my graduation. I was nervous, because I’ve never left her with someone she didn’t know. My mind was immediately put to ease when I met her! I know Dixie was paid a lot of attention, because she had no problem napping on the way home!”

Cody H.Star Sitter
“It’s not every day that you come across someone as naturally gifted with animals as my son. I’m writing this letter not just as a proud parent, but as someone who has watched him transform a love for dogs into a calling. From a young age, he’s had a quiet, grounded way of connecting with animals that goes far beyond basic care. He doesn’t just walk dogs—he studies them. He watches their body language, notices their routines, and takes time to learn their quirks and comforts. I’ve seen him wake up early to work with shy foster dogs, spending hours with them to rebuild trust and confidence, never rushing the process. Patience is second nature to him. He has taken in fosters others might consider “too much”—those who need extra training, medication, or simply more love than most are willing to give. These dogs don’t just do well under his care—they flourish. He creates a calm, structured environment where animals feel secure and respected. What sets him apart is how seriously he takes this work. He keeps detailed notes on feeding, routines, training goals, and behaviors. He’s the kind of person who will triple-check that a gate is locked, who never forgets a medication dose, and who will send updates and photos without being asked—because he genuinely knows how hard it is to leave a beloved pet behind. If you're looking for someone who treats animals with the same care you'd give a family member—and who brings reliability, skill, and deep understanding to the job—then there’s truly no better person for the job. Sincerely, Angie Rourke (Cody's Mom)”
