“Jennifer saved me helping with my puppy Knox for 6 days straight! She loved him like her own. And is also the best at taking pet photos! I will recommend her to everyone I can. She is so amazing and I am so lucky to have found her through this service.”
“Amanda was excellent with my kitties again. Her attention to all the details of the house while she was present is amazing. She has continuously provided top notch service going above and beyond just taking care of the kitties, with keeping an eye on the house as a whole.”

“We were very happy to have Amelia check in on our two dogs while we were away for a week. We asked her to come mid-day to walk them because my son didn't get home til late. She added daily pictures and gave me updates, also answered any of my questions right away. She was always punctual and reliable. I would hire her again!”

“This was my first time using Rover for my dog, I was a little nervous about my dog not being cared for by family. But Isabel was so kind and friendly. She sent me messages and pictures of my Oliver when I was away. I was so impressed by this service. I know my dog is a handful but he seemed very happy the whole weekend. I will absolutely recommend Isabel!! I hope she is available to help next time I am out of town. Thank you so much Isabel!!!”

About: I have been a dog/cat/house sitter for my family and friends for over 20 yrs. I will take care of your pets like my own I currently have a lot of time on my hands. I had to say goodbye to my dog last year and wanted to help other owners with theirs until I’m ready to adopt one of my own. That’s going to take some time. I’m I will have a lot of fun with pet(s). I enjoy going to the park or a hiking trail or staying in the backyard. They will be cared for and receive many hags and kisses. I understand the importance of a routine for some pets and will do whatever I can to keep them safe and happy.

“Becca was amazing! She agreed to three drop-in visits with less than 24 hours notice. She was on-time for every visit, followed the instructions we had left, made sure that both of our dogs were well taken care of and even spent some time with them. Everything went so well that we've asked Becca to be our regular sitter. ?”

About: Hello! I am looking to build a career in housesitting as well as cat and dog sitting too! Staying clean and busy fits right into my routine, so why not let me help out? No need to worry about your baby, I have plenty of experience with all types of breeds. Big or small, I am up for the challenge. I have also personally worked with senior dogs and puppies, along side kittens and older cats. Growing up I was able to educate myself in real time by learning to take care of multiple dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and fish, occasionally all at the same time. I am super excited to meet some furry friends! And maybe some not so furry friends too!? I currently work about 30 hours a week in fast food. Most days, I am off from anywhere between 10:30am-12pm, but there are a few days I work a little later, until 2pm. However, I am extendable, willing, and able to request off for an extended period of time, if need be. I have three fur babies of my own, two being orange and the other being grey. Sasha, Sunny and Haze have turned out to be some pretty cool roommates. Sunnt and Haze are brothers that I believe are a mix between a white, male ragdoll, and a female tabby who's coat remains unknown. We took Sasha in as a stray, making her a newer addition to our family. As much havoc as they cause, they bring so much love and life to our apartment. They are incredibly spoiled with toys such as fake mice, crinkle balls, springs, foam balls, plastic balls, foam darts, cat scratchers, stuffies filled with catnip, mesh finger traps, supervised feathers, as well as a couple battery powered toys and interactive slow feeders. Kitties eat three small portions of dry food throughout the day and are then offered wet food for supper. We don't host very often and as a result to that, I would say Sunny and Haze meet the introvert requirements upon first impression. Sasha is incredibly vocal and attentive.

About: I genuinely love and care for animals, and I have a pet of my own. Being a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I would want the same level of care, attention, and respect for my own. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s needs, whether that means following specific routines, providing exercise and playtime, or simply offering companionship and comfort. I pay close attention to behavior and well-being and make sure pets feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away. I communicate clearly and provide updates for peace of mind, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make both pets and owners feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily and weekly routine since I have a pet of my own. I’m used to planning my days around feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and general care. I make sure time is set aside each day for attention, exercise, and companionship, not just the basics. Because I already build my schedule around responsible pet care, adding another pet to that routine fits in smoothly. I’m organized, consistent, and flexible, which allows me to meet each pet’s specific needs while still giving them plenty of care and attention. I care for pets by treating them with the same attention and love I give my own. In both my home and a client’s home, I follow their specific instructions carefully feeding on schedule, giving any medications if needed, and providing exercise, playtime, and companionship. I make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their environment and monitor their behavior and well-being closely. I also keep the space clean and tidy, and I communicate regularly with owners, sending updates and photos so they know their pets are happy and cared for. My goal is to provide a reliable, stress-free experience for both pets and their owners
“Diane is the best doggie caretaker ever. So caring and supportive. She was always on time. And provided pictures and feedback each day. I highly recommend Diane for your door sitting needs.”

“We were very happy with the job Victoria and Joe did watching Kai. We knew we were gonna need someone with experience to watch our two year-old 80 pound exuberant, Golden Retriever. When we came back, Kai was happy and well cared for. We also had a last minute change in Kai’s care routine. He needed prescription medicine to be given twice a day from the vet. They were able to take care of this no problem.”

“Michael is great - we have used him a couple of times. He is very responsive when communicating and our two dogs really like him (and they aren't the easiest of dogs to sit for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
