Canija was absolutely wonderful with our animals and took such great care of our home. We were away on an international trip and had the upmost confidence in our animals being safe and secure in her care. After a previous really awful experience with a Rover sitter she helped regain our confidence in sitters. We came home to a happy home and happy animals. We are super grateful and will definitely stay in touch and hope she’s available for the next trip!

Jordan was absolutely wonderful with our fur baby, Sugar! She took the time to let Sugar warm up at her own pace, and by the end of the sitting, our girl was completely cuddled up with her. We received gorgeous picture updates and fantastic communication throughout, so we never had a single worry. Jordan was also incredibly respectful of our home. We will definitely try to book her every time we need care for our baby!

We are so thankful for Amanda! She took such great care of our elderly dog over the weekend and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well cared for. Her communication was excellent, she showed up early, and he even went the extra mile by cleaning the sheets afterwards. Truly wonderful experience. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in such caring hands. Highly recommend!

Lanae was beyond kind to our two mini dachshunds. They have anxiety and are less than a year old, so they can be a hand full. She also stayed at our house and left everything as is. She was communicative and sent pictures often. Our two little dogs were sad to see her go. 💜 There was a small billing issue with Rover and she was quick to call and work it out. I’d 100% recommend Lanae. I could not say enough good things about her!

We could not have been more happy with Tammie taking care of our pups ! She did an amazing job. She always stayed in communication with us whether by sending updates via text or sending pictures and videos of our pups. It was also obvious that our pups developed a bond with Tammie. which is extra comforting. We truly knew that our pups were in the right hands and our pups knew also. We will definitely call on Tammie again. Thank you Tammie !

About: I have taken care of different animals since I was very little. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, horses, goats, fish, birds, bunnies and even a chinchilla. I’ll take care and love your animals like I do my own. I work a full time job but I can come early In the morning and around 5 in the evening . I try to be as flexible with your needs and wants for your animals. I have 2 cats who are polar opposites. One loves to snuggle and the other hides in our room like she’s a 16 year old teenager. We love them both as they are and cater to what each of them needs.

About: I've taken care of dogs for 10 years. I've owned a American Pit Bull Terrier, fostered a German shepherd, and cared for a mini poodle. You can sleep peacefully knowing that I will care for your pet as if it was my own. I am a full time student but mostly online and goes to on site class twice a week for two hours. But you can put your trust in knowing your pet will receive the proper attention plus more. Both early morning/ late evening walks plus lots of play time. I have a extra play room for your pet and 2 dogs parks that are a quick walk to get to. Animals are not allowed on the furniture but are always free to roam my home. If needed I can crate your pet as well. If overnight boarding is required for longer than 3 days, bathing will be provided.

About: Since I was about 5 or 6 I have always had a dog and each day I cherished and loved them deeply. I would do the same for the dog my cousins had. Everyday when I would get off work I would go by just to see her dog. We played for hours and I treated her as if she was my own. There are some dogs that can be challenging just cause they don't know who you are and every dog has to trust you and they have to feel safe with you. I plan to do that with each dog I met. They deserve to be treated how any human being would want to be treated. Dogs are, hands down the best. I love dogs! Usually I’ll work from 6:30am-3:30pm on Monday-Friday. But I am very flexible. If you let me know on advance that you need care for your baby/babies I am more then willing to accommodate for you. Before work I always let them out and let them eat. My wife comes back home and will let them back out. I do come home most time for breaks to let them out and play. If I am not able then my wife will be there on her breaks and will allow the them to go outside. I’ll do playtime outside, but if it’s too hot then playtime will be inside. Plenty of space in the living room to run around. We have multiple things to do around whether inside or outside. Most times we will go done to the trial and play around out there. Whatever you or your baby needs I’m here to give.

JMark was absolutely wonderful. He kept us updated throughout each day he watched our babies with pictures and videos. We were worried that our Malinois would not accept him and she took to him right away. She was attached to him so much so that when we came back it felt like she wanted him instead of us.🤣 JMark is definitely our man for next bookings.

Brianna stayed at our house for 3 nights, watching all 3 of our dogs. They are big dogs who are not used to a lot of people and she was absolutely awesome with them! She was very good with communication and responding quickly. We really felt safe and confident in her abilities to take good care of our fur babies while we were out of town. I would highly recommend her!

About: I'm all about consistency, structured, and love. You and your baby(ies) will feel secure with me. I'm very detailed and organized. I grew up in an old school 24hr home daycare for children. I feel fur babies should get that same attention, devotion and love. I also provide transportation for humans. 🐶 Pups who enjoy car rides travel with me for ride. For my pup parents, I also provide transportation to the airport for an additional fee. Pup parents are welcome to park their vehicle in my driveway. I create a place of peace for my fur babies. My home has a calm environment. Older pups who don't care to be bothered with other pups are separated. I make sure personal space is respected.

FAQs for House Sitting - Experiment

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Experiment on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,833 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Experiment. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Experiment walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Experiment maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Experiment choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Experiment. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
