“Our Experience with Mairim was fantastic! She was super sweet and friendly her children were adorable and super sweet as well! Mairim has an amazing set up so that she can cater to all size dogs and and their needs! One of the things that we loved was that she was willing to do a Meet and Greet before Claire’s stay which really helped make us comfortable. The next day when we arrived Claire was so excited she ran up to the yard and immediately started to play. Mairim send a good amount of updates with adorable pictures and Claire was completely exhausted from her amazing play date ? I would defin recommend and will be using Mairim again in the future!”

“Courtney is absolutely wonderful! She took the time to have a meet and greet at her house with Ellie before her first visit alone. She is friendly conscientious and so careful and kind with Ellie who has a lot of anxiety! She is also flexible—when I had to arrive an hour later than planned due to a vet appointment she was very understanding. I feel lucky to have found her and already have more dates booked with her!”

“Davina really should be the #1 dog sitter in this area! She is amazing with my Jack. He loves going to her house, he runs right up to the door. I usually worry about Jack when I'm not with him, but I don't worry at all when he is with Davina. Contact Davina for the best dog sitting around!”

“Chloe had so much fun with Karly and Otis! She came home exhausted :) Karly sent so many photos so I knew Chloe was happy and enjoying herself. I will definitely bring her back!!”

“Sonia did a great job taking care of Bella for the day. And she sent several videos and pictures of Bella throughout the day. I will be scheduling day care again with Sonia”

“Kristen was terrific! We booked at the last minute and were coming from out of town for an event. She kept us updated and treated Kodi like one of her own. Kodi had a fabulous time playing with her dogs and came home happy and tired out from all the play. We highly recommend Kristen and would book with her again.”

About: I have experience with all aged dogs. I feel especially sensitive to older dogs with special need after caring for my own special needs pet. I am a college student so I am pretty flexible with fitting things into my schedule. I am also passionate about fitness so walking your dog will help us both get our steps in. Each pet has its own different needs so I will follow each clients special instructions on how to care for their pet to my best ability. We have a spacious yard but I would make sure a dog in my care would always be walked on a leash.

About: I've had dogs most of my life and loved dogs my entire life. I started fostering dogs after my last two pups passed away and I just recently adopted my latest foster- a 10 year old one-eyed blind chiweenie named Maude and she loves to hang out with a pack so we welcome other small dogs or mellow/senior medium sized dogs. We live in a house with a fully fenced yard in a lovely walkable neighborhood with walking trails all around me. Ive had a cockapoo, boxer/ridgeback mix and most recently 2 dachshunds. I also am a regular foster and have hosted everything from poodles to pitties at my house. I do have a soft spot for the seniors as my last doxie had back issues at 15y/o and needed lots of extra help so I understand that stage of life and am so awed by their sweet and stoic nature as they age. I'm working from home these days so I'm home a LOT! I understand all dogs are unique and would love to chat with you about whether my house and I are a good fit for your pup(s). I am home a lot and able to walk, feed and play with your pups throughout the day and when I'm home on weekends I love to be outdoors walking or in my backyard and my dogs tended to be a part of all I did on the weekends! I do travel on occasion to see family but I keep my calendar up to date as much as possible so you can look ahead for bookings. My backyard is fully fenced with a big grassy lawn so your dog can play safely outside and take quick potty breaks between walks. We are home a lot so the pups tend to join us from room to room. I encourage per parents to bring us toys and beds and anything that makes the pups relaxed and at home.
About: I’ve watched over dogs for years, i have 2 dogs of my own and they are my everything. Your fur babies will be in great hands! Currently working part time so I have a bit of a flexible schedule to accommodate and spend time with pups and take them on walks or house sit! I have a big house and a fenced yard with very sweet loving dogs to keep your fur babies company! They are free to roam the house and if crafting your dog is your preference, we can make that happen as well! i have 2 roommates who also have dogs of their own which are included in the photos! one is a lab and one is an Aussie. They get along so well and it’s always a playful environment! If your dog loves being around other dogs to calm the separation anxiety then they’ll love being here! If not, we can always keep them separated :)

About: With a lifelong passion for animal care, I bring years of hands-on experience to every pet I look after. From raising family pets and fostering animals in need — including those with medical requirements — to volunteering at local animal shelters and working summers at a pet boarding and grooming salon, I've developed a deep understanding of animal behavior and care. My commitment is simple: your pets will be safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. As a homebody at heart, I've found that my quiet days leave plenty of room to open my home and heart to more animal companionship. I'm looking for meaningful ways to fill my time, and connecting with new pets feels like the perfect fit. I also have a dog of my own who is wonderful with other animals — he'd love nothing more than making new furry friends, and I know he'll bring extra joy and companionship to any pet in our care. While I don't currently have a yard, that's something I'm looking forward to adding in the future. For added peace of mind, I have security cameras throughout my home so I'm always aware of what's happening. I live alone with two well-behaved, trained pets, and I'm rarely away — whether at home or just around the corner, your pets will always be close by and never left alone for long.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
