I can tell that my dog enjoyed his day with Tanaisa and her dog Loki. He walked right into the gate when I dropped him off for his second day. He got plenty of walks and socialization. I will definitely book with her again, even though it’s a total of 40 minutes detour for me, it’s worth it because Tanaisa took great care of Dante.

About: My family has always had dogs. I’ve taken care of big and small dogs. I know how to give dogs medication if that’s what they need. I’ve dealt with old dogs and puppies. I know how to deal with anxious dogs and have dealt with dogs who have epilepsy. I can come and play with your dog, go on walks, or cuddle with your dog. Whatever they prefer. I am currently a stay at home mom, so I have plenty of time to check in on your furry friends. I know what it’s like to go on vacation and stress about leaving your pets behind. With me, they will have fun and you won’t have to worry about them being taken care of. I have a fully fenced yard, so your dog can run stress free. If pet sitting is at your house, I can use a leash or play in the yard if it is fenced. You let me know!

About: I love animals and have been around and cared for them all of my life. I have two dogs of my own and owned a horse ranch for the last 20 years. I now live in a new neighborhood, with a fully fenced yard. I do work during the day so my husband cares for our Rover pets while I am gone. All dogs love him and he is home during the day. I am a very experienced horse owner and can provide care for livestock as well as cats, dogs and birds. I raised Andalusian horses and have been around them most of my life. Pets are my passion, are important and I love to be around them. They make me happy and I would love to pamper your pets! For house sitting clients, I do work from 6-2pm. I am happy to house sit but am gone during those hours. My husband lets the dogs out as needed all day long. He is home all of the time, so we do not leave our boarders alone. Our clients pets interact with our own pets. We cannot take in pets that do not get along with other dogs and cats. Our boarders will sleep with us or on their own bed if one is brought.

Emily & Eric took great care of our pups while we were visiting from out of town for a family Christmas party. We appreciate them being so accommodating with the festivities ending a little later than expected. Our fur babies were obviously very comfortable in their home because they are so calm in their crates in the car at the moment. We will definitely leave our girls with Emily and Eric again when we are back in Vancouver!

Excellent communication before, during, and after our reservation and my dogs were content and happy. I would recommend Jennifer and use in the future! Thank you!

I got on Rover purely to give Shell this review. Haha. Imagine the value in a scenario where you call up your mom and say you have to work late, and ask if she’d drive across town to pick your kid up from school and take care of them for a few hours until you’re free. She doesn’t think twice and your mind is completely at ease knowing your kiddo is in good hands. I don’t know what it’s like to have kids, but Shell has been more than a dog-sitter. She has been that third, auxiliary parent to my puppy when I’ve needed her! Even to the extent that she drove across town on a Thursday morning on zero notice to pick him up as I scrambled through an offsite work meeting. Also… Our pup was only 7 months old and we left him for a week with Shell, cold turkey. He had never stayed with anyone before; risky, I know. She sent pictures and videos every day of his playtime with friends, yummy meal toppers, and when we picked him up, he was as happy as a clam. It has been an immense relief knowing that, whenever we need a break, we can drop Winchester off and he is in great hands. We love our fluffy furball, but being able to drop him off and completely forget about him for a while is pure bliss sometimes. ? I don’t really know what else to say other than that I have complete and unwavering faith in Shell’s ability and good intention when it comes to caring for my little guy. I highly recommend bringing your pup to her… but hurry, she fills up fast!!

About: I’m a lifelong pet lover who has owned and cared for animals for many years. I’ve also had the joy of being a “pet grandpa,” helping care for family pets and spending lots of quality time with dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I’m dependable, calm, and patient, and I truly enjoy getting outside for walks and staying active. Whether your pet needs a walk, companionship, or attentive care while you’re away, I’ll treat them like family. I’m excited to spend time with animals and provide reliable, loving care you can feel good about. I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule. I’m looking for part-time work to stay active, so I have plenty of availability during weekdays and weekends. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions carefully, keep a calm and secure environment, and treat your home with respect. I’m attentive, reliable, and focused on making sure pets feel safe and cared for at all times.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,493 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Etna. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Etna commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,493 sitters in Etna, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
