“This was our second and third time using Natalie to watch our pets. We've had no issues and always appreciate the care she provides them. She keeps us up to date and communication has always been a breeze.”

“Andrea was fantastic! She took pictures of my dog and updated often. Andrea left my house completely clean and stripped all the beds. She even measured my son's desk while we were away so he could take advantage of the Black Friday deals. I would definitely recommend Andrea!”

“Anastasia did a great job of watching my dog Butters. He has Cushing’s disease and requires a little extra care. She did a great job of making sure he had his medication when he was supposed to, which I totally appreciate. She was very communicative and sent me pictures a few times a day so I could see that he was happy and doing well with her. I will absolutely book her again when I need a sitter for my dog.”

“Nancy was a godsend. We have 6 dogs and had never left them with a stranger before meaning we have never been able to go on vacation. Nancy came over to meet them before we booked and they instantly loved her! That really set our minds at ease and we were finally able to have a vacation, all thanks to Nancy. Her daily photo updates showed how relaxed and loved they were in her care! To be able to walk into another person’s home and handle their 6 crazy dogs is truly a superpower. We could not recommend Nancy enough for your pet sitting/house sitting needs!”

“Amber stayed at my home with my dog Lacie for four days and was the absolute best. She was very attentive to Lacie’s care needs and provided regular updates and check-ins. I would definitely call Amber again anytime I need a sitter. Thank you!”

“Adrianna stayed at our home to watch our two dogs at our cat while we were out of town for several days. She kept us updated daily with messages and pet photos, giving us great sense of peace that our home and pets were looked after. Thank you again for your wonderful service, Adrianna!”

About: I have 6+ years of taking care of my 2 jack Russell’s, neighbors dogs + cats in 3 different states and my boyfriends parents 2 cats (1 disabled). Promptly giving medicine to those animals in need for specific time, and patience tending to their attentions and needs. I work full time remote M-Thursday 8am-4pm with an hour and half lunch break each day. I work 3x a week part time on site and can be flexible as needed. I have a high energy dog (Jack Russell) that requires a lot of assertiveness and strict use of instruction. But at the same time requires rewards and playtime. I love to care for animals, but also care about the safety of myself, and owners property always keeping that at a #1 priority of my surroundings and the pets safety and better interest of the owner.
“I felt very comfortable leaving Kona with Alex. He was well cared for and Alex took the time to communicate with me which means a lot! Kona was very calm and happy when we returned.”

“Yelitza was absolutely wonderful with my pups. She stayed with them at my house while I was away, and spent plenty of time with them to keep them happy and loved, - walks, plays, and snuggles. She was very engaged and meticulous, and I was very happy about the whole experience.”

“Mackenzie is a wonderful dog sitter. Our dog Nugget is very attached to his family. He gets quite anxious when we’re preparing for vacation and then again as the week progresses. MacKenzie stayed in our home; a first for us as Rover customers. She respected our home to the point where we could hardly tell she spent the week. Nugget was completely calm with MacKenzie. In fact he seemed to be looking for her our first morning back. She truly is a dog whisperer. We highly recommend MacKenzie and look forward to having her again. We’re confident Nugget will be thrilled to see her!!”

About: I grew up with two cats, so I love cats as well as dogs. In 2019, I adopted an incredibly loving, gorgeous lab pit named Lucy, and she keeps me very active every day! She was a rescue dog, and although we were originally fostering her, I bonded with her too much to let her go. I’ve always been a natural introvert and have been drawn to the compassion of animals. I believe we can learn more about our own humanity through caring for animals. I look forward to meeting your amazing furry friends! In addition to Rover, I substitute teach right now, and this allows me to have a very flexible schedule. It's closer to part-time than full-time. My priority is to listen and adapt to each client’s needs/preferences, so that both the client and their pets will be as happy as possible.

“Sarah was amazing while dog sitting and house sitting for us. Ajax is a great dog but can be a little needy with attention so she took great care of him with walks and attention every day. Not to mention we had several house snafus while she stayed which she handled so professionally on our behalf! Thank you Sarah!”

About: I've grown up around many dogs my whole life. I am a very dependable, reliable and a fun person for your pets to play with! I am currently in the process of finding a full-time job, so I have plenty of time to play with your furry and fun animals. I will love and care for your pets as if they are my own. I have a dog who is very friendly and is kind.
“We had an amazing experience with Eliza! She stayed at our home for several days and nights while caring for our French Bulldogs and our cats, and we couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. From the moment we left, we had complete peace of mind knowing our pets were in such caring and responsible hands. Eliza kept us updated, treated our home with respect, and most importantly, gave our pets so much love and attention. It was obvious they were comfortable, happy, and well cared for while we were away. Coming home to relaxed, happy pets and a well-kept house was the best feeling. We are so grateful for everything Eliza did and would absolutely trust her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Gil has been terrific - everything we could have asked for in a sitter. He truly cares about our dog and Communication is consistent and informative. Most importantly our 5 year old pup absolutely loves Gil!”

“Chantal did a wonderful job watching Luna while I was away! She was very responsive, provided me plenty of updates, and left my apartment in great condition. I would definitely recommend her!!”

Natalie and Makennah did such a wonderful job caring for my big Newfie pup. They were so accommodating and enthusiastic about giving her the most attention and best care. I got lots of photo, text and video updates and it helped me feel truly at ease during my week long vacation knowing my dog was having a great time and being loved in my absence. Will definitely book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Erieville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Erieville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Erieville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Erieville. On Rover:

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
