“Hannah is amazing! One of our cats is diabetic and needs insulin injections and has a special diet while the other is very shy and wary of new people. Hannah was super communicative and understood their needs so well. She worked with me throughout the stay to make any adjustments as needed. When you have a pet with medical needs, being able to have a stress free weekend away is the best compliment I could possibly give!”

About: I'm 50 years old, and have mostly owned pit bull breed dogs, but I love all breeds. From 2010 to 2018, my APBT was trained as a therapy animal, we did hospital visits and library events with children. I taught him several tricks, such as left, right, speak, play dead. My current pit is a rescue and I am off leash training. Dog Walking: I work in the Kankakee area, so coming to walk your dog in Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais, is NO problem! Either in the mornings (after 7am) and/or later in the evenings (8ish pm) it's all negotiable. I live in Iroquois county, so I have more availability to walk your dog if you are in that area. Pet Sitting: I can come to sit in your home, if that is preferred. I am also available to just come let them outside, spend time and play, feed, water, clean up. Boarding: I would love to open our home to your precious babies. Non smoking, fenced in yard, lots of walks in my small town. My dog friendly pup can't wait to play tag around the dining room table. All pets are welcome on the couches and have full access to the entire 1st floor, including the bed in the spare room. My husband and I work different shifts, so someone is usually always home. A maximum of 3 to 4 hours of an occasional overlap in shifts. I am able to crate your pet if preferred, or close off access to half of the living space. Before boarding, a few meet and greets are necessary. More details as we move forward. Cats: I will help with your cats, spending time, play, feed, clean litter boxes. I also have several years of experience with birds. I know how important socializing is to birds, and leaving them alone can cause problems and stress. Boarding of cats and birds can be discussed. As I'm nearing retirement from the Healthcare field, I would like to do more of what I love, which is caring for and spending time with animals. If I can do that for you, and ease your worry while you are away, it's a win for everyone! Reach out and let me help you today. As far as boarding your dog, my husband and I work different shifts, so someone is always home. A fully fenced back yard and good sniffer walks in my small town. Your dog is welcome on the couches and downstairs bed. Access to entire 1st floor. I can also crate if preferred. Baths and nail trims are no problem! I have a 60lb staffordshire terrier who loves all kids, people and dogs. It's playtime almost 24/7! Unless it's nap time and he's professional at that also!

“I am so grateful that we found Cindy to watch our 3 pets. Our dog is 9 years old and this was the first time we left her with anyone besides my son. As soon as we met Cindy, I knew she would take good care of them. We received updates while we were gone and everything ran very smoothly. If we go on any other trips, I hope Cindy will be available to watch our animals. Thank you!!”

About: House sitting, dog walks, training and drop in visits for all pets. I have cared for animals my entire life, from dogs and cats to small pets. I am actively training dogs with structured leash and behavior support during walks. I have raised puppies through two litters, so I understand the patience, attention and care they need at every stage. Animals have always been part of my family, loving companions and treated as such. I treat every pet I meet as I would treat my own. Whether it's walks, playtime, or keeping them comfortable in your home, I provide dependable, loving care that keeps tails wagging and the owners at ease. I know dogs thrive on routine, so I'm happy to provide weekly care at consistent times; walks, play or just someone to sit with while you're at work or on vacation. Premium overnight care for pets who deserve a calm, experienced caregiver. Thoughtful communication, respectful home care, and personalized attention while you're away. Daily walks are part of my own health and wellness routine, and caring for pets fits right in. Sadly, my own dogs have passed, and the right one hasn't come into my life yet. Until then, I would love the chance to share my time, energy and affection with other's people pets. Dogs especially bring me joy, and walking them keeps both of us happy, active and cared for. I'd like your dog to know me as their regular walking buddy. I follow each pet parent's instructions closely and respect their home. My focus is on your pet's safety and comfort, and well-being so you can feel confident they are cared for while you're away. I am available for consistent weekly walks, drop-ins, and over night house sitting.

About: My experience comes from a lifelong love of animals. I cared for my childhood dog from the time I was young until he passed away at 15 years old. Throughout his life, I was responsible for feeding him, spending quality time with him, ensuring he was comfortable, and providing extra care as he became a senior dog. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of understanding a pet's individual needs. I know that pets are family members, and I treat every animal with the same love, compassion, and attention that I gave my own dog. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work remotely from home Monday through Friday. This allows me to be available throughout the day for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. Since I'm home most of the time, I can provide pets with consistent attention, supervision, and care, helping them feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention during walks, playtime, and daily activities to ensure pets stay safe and happy. I also keep pet owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they are away. Having cared for my own dog throughout his life, including his senior years, I understand the importance of patience, reliability, and giving pets the love and attention they deserve.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, a sitter we trust with Aria! We have a hard time leaving Aria with anyone, so handing her over for the weekend was a big step. From the moment we met April, we could tell our sweet girl was in good hands. Aria was happy, relaxed, and well cared for the entire time. April kept us updated without overdoing it, which was the perfect balance. We got the reassurance we needed and were free to relax and actually enjoy our weekend. She went above and beyond, too. She even cleaned up after herself and left our home in better shape than she found it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. We'll absolutely be using April again and again, and we're already recommending her to friends and family. If you're nervous about leaving your pup, don't be. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: Welcome to my profile! I have been a caretaker for over 18 years. I started as a nanny, fell into a house assistant, and have pet/house sat for numerous people both in Chicago and LA. Currently I run a small business working part-time as a home organizer and looking to supplement that income. I am a good communicator, responsible, and trustworthy. I will give your animals and house as much TLC as I can. I work part-time as a home organizer and I am looking to supplement that income with more active work that fulfills me. There's a chance I actually open up my own pet day care one day. Tend to their feeding and bathroom needs especially staying consistent with the schedule the pet parents provides. About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, and dogs have always had a special place in my heart! Growing up, my family had dogs, horses, goats, chickens, cats, birds, fish—you name it. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me, and over the years I’ve become the go-to pet sitter for friends and family whenever they go on vacation. I understand that every dog is unique, whether they’re full of energy and love long walks or prefer cuddles and a relaxing day at home. My goal is to make your pup feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away by keeping their routine as normal as possible. You can expect plenty of playtime, belly rubs, potty breaks, and lots of love and attention. I treat every dog as if they were my own and will keep you updated so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind, knowing your furry family member is in good hands! I currently work full-time from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and have an hour commute each way. Because of this, I offer boarding for pets who are comfortable being alone for an extended period during the workday. I am fully available on weekends and can dedicate plenty of time to your furry family members! I also offer evening dog walks and drop-in visits after work. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my schedule or your pet’s specific needs—I’m happy to accommodate whenever possible! Your pet will be welcomed into a safe, loving home away from home! I live in a top-floor apartment with carpeted stairs and plenty of windows, perfect for curious pups who love to look outside and watch the world go by. There’s also a private dog park directly across the street from my complex, giving your dog a great place to play and burn off some energy. My neighborhood is quiet and pet-friendly, making it ideal for long walks and plenty of sniffing adventures. I make sure every pet gets lots of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and, of course, treats (with owner approval!). My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re away, treating them like part of my own family.

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been caring for them since childhood and have gained extensive experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I am certified in Cat & Dog First Aid through the American Red Cross and I also hold a Fear Free Pet Certification, meaning I prioritize low-stress, positive handling techniques to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and secure at all times. Your pet’s safety and emotional well-being are always my top priority. I spent two years working at an animal shelter, where I handled everything from socializing shy rescues to assisting with basic training and caring for high energy dogs. In addition, I have experience with senior dogs, puppies, and dogs with special needs, including mobility challenges and anxiety. I am the owner of Salty’s Pet Services LLC, where I provide professional boarding, walking, and drop-in visits. Every dog in my care receives personalized attention, structure, and plenty of love. Whether it’s a cuddle session, a long walk, or playtime, I’m dedicated to making sure your dog feels at home while you’re away. Weekday Care & Supervision I am home-based which means I am home throughout the day providing attentive, hands-on care. Dogs receive frequent potty breaks, meals on schedule, enrichment, and consistent supervision. This setup is ideal for dogs who benefit from structure, routine, and human presence rather than being left alone for extended periods. Weekend Care I am fully available on weekends and intentionally limit my schedule to ensure each dog receives quality, individualized attention. Whether it’s relaxed downtime at home, structured walks, or light outings, your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. Potty Training Requirement All dogs must be potty trained. If your dog is prone to accidents, diapers or potty pads are required to maintain a clean, comfortable environment for all pets in my care. What to Bring for Your Dog’s Stay To ensure a seamless and stress-free experience, please pack the following: 🐾 Food & Treats: Sufficient for the entire stay 🐾 Food & Water Bowls: To maintain familiarity and routine 🐾 Collar/Harness & Leash: Required for walks and outdoor time 🐾 Emergency Contact Information 🐾 Daily Routine Overview: Feeding, potty, sleep, and behavior notes 🐾 Medications (if applicable): Clearly labeled with instructions 🐾 Bedding or Blanket (optional): Familiar scent for comfort 🐾 Crate (optional but recommended): For rest and decompression 🐾 Poop Bags (optional) 🐾 Favorite Toys (optional): Comfort items from home Care Standards I intentionally keep my environment calm, clean, and structured. Your dog will be treated as a guest in my home, not just a booking on a calendar. Safety, communication, and your pet’s well-being are always my priority. If you have specific expectations, questions, or care requests, please reach out prior to booking. I look forward to providing your dog with exceptional care. 🐕❤️ I have a small yard with a secure chain link setup, providing a safe space for dogs to play and stretch their legs. While my yard is not fully fenced, I always ensure supervised outdoor time to keep your dog safe. Having a companion can help ease anxiety and make their stay more fun and engaging. Whether they love to play, lounge, or explore, I create a comfortable, stress-free environment where every dog feels at home. Safety is my top priority, and I’m committed to giving your pet the care and attention they deserve! ❤️🐕

About: I’ve been taking care/training dogs for 6+ years. I have worked with a professional dog trainer for about three years; training, boarding, walking, socializing, and generally taking care of them. I love training dogs cool tricks and basic obedience! I am currently enrolled full time in college, but am flexible in the early mornings, afternoons, and evenings seven days a week! Just let me know! I am experienced with taking care of/training multiple dogs, but would prefer working with one dog at a time (if you have multiple) until the dogs are at a comfortable level of training. This really varies on the animals, but I work with all situations.

FAQs for House Sitting - Enos

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Enos walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Enos maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Enos choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
