“Raquel did everything asked of her and then some. She was super easy to work with, made sure Winnie had plenty of time to go potty/ eat and took sooo many great photos of her during her visit! Thanks, Raquel!”

“After years of bad experiences with friends and neighbors watching our cats, we have found an absolute angel in Madison. She sent wonderful updates and pictures of each cat every day, and expertly handled each of our cat’s unique social and behavioral issues. We felt completely at ease knowing our babies were in such good hands!”

“Sophia was quick to respond to a last minute request, communicative, professional and arrived on time. She went above and beyond to make sure my dog was happy and well cared for during the visit.”

“We used Josie's services for our cat Winnie and our two pugs, Popeye and Bo while we went on a 6 day vacation. She came to our house to check on Winnie 3 days and played with her and kept our two pugs at her own house. We could not be happier with her services, she is kind, friendly and just loves our furbies. Our pugs loved her and her kids and we didn't think we would get them back, lol. We will definitely use her services again! Highly recommend her.”
“Kiersten was great with both my dogs! She communicates very well, sent pictures, and followed all of my directions for my dogs. One of my dogs can be reactive when he is not familiar with someone and Kiersten was willing to meet him multiple times before the actual date!! I am so thankful I found her to take care of my dogs. I cannot recommend her enough!! Thank you again and I look forward to working with you again!”

“Mya was great and super attentive of my pup. She even took her along for a ride in her car which she loved. I appreciate Mya’s messages and communication with me, filling me in on everything. I will definitely hire her again, she loves animals and was super patient with my pup.”

“Michaela was amazing with our 3 guinea pigs. She sent so many photos, and very detailed updates during her time with the piggies. She was very sweet! She did everything I asked, plus gave them some treats while we were gone. Will definitely use her again in the future. Thanks again Michaela.”

“Absolutely Fantastic!!!! I can’t say enough about the professionalism, sincerity, and care this father daughter team gave out Jack. He is older and always has issues (separation anxiety). He was so happy and energetic when we got home. Usually takes days for him to recover! Highly Recommend!!! Will be a return customer next time we need a sitter for our buddy.”

“Casey is exceptional! This was our first time hiring a sitter for our senior cat through Rover, and Casey made the entire experience such a positive one. Casey came to our house a week before our booking for a meet & greet. We could immediately tell she was very competent and professional. Meeting with her ahead of time completely put us at ease. Our cat was clearly comfortable with Casey during the meet & greet. Casey provided wonderful pictures and updates after each of her drop-in visits while we were out of town. She followed our directions down to a tee and was incredibly neat and tidy, going above and beyond by washing our cat's extra dishes, rinsing out the recycling, etc. Our cat generally runs away when anyone (including myself and my husband!) first comes through the door, but Maggy was greeting Casey at the front door when she arrived for her drop-in visits. It was wonderful to know our cat was so comfortable with Casey. We highly recommend Casey and are already looking forward to booking her for future trips!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life. I’ve potty trained them, taught them how to walk with a leash, taught them tricks like sit stay and say your prayers, and too many to say. I will spoil your fur babies like I do mine. You would never have any worries while you’re away they will be in good hands. I love and enjoy being around dogs and or cats. I’d send you videos and or pictures of your fur baby. Some owners have their fur babies on a schedule if so I will do the same. if there is a park nearby I’d probably take them there. But first I would ask the owner what they would like me to do sense it is their pet. I'm retired so I'm flexible. My routine is the fur babies routine. I'd like to keep it that way for them, so I would need to know. I have a fenced in yard, not big for big dogs tho. They will be fed, played with and cuddled. If they need to be caged I have a large one for their comfort.
About: My family always had a pet dog. As a kid I would feed and walk dogs in the neighborhood while they were out of town. As I grew older I would stay at family or friend's homes if they went out of town. I'm in search of a similar situation in South Bend - dog walking and light housework included! Weekdays I can stop in and let the dog(s) out for bathroom breaks. On weekends/evenings I can stay at your home so that the dog is familiar and will make myself available 100% during that time. I prefer to stay or drop in to my client's home. I find that the dog is more familiar/comfortable this way too. I am happy to do a test run so that everyone feels comfortable/familiar!
About: My heart is with the animals. My gift is with the animals. I guarantee my heavenly job is with the animals. I have over 20 years of experience with both aggressive and non aggressive breeds. I’ve owned and rescued, fostered and everything in between!!! Let me be your pets new best friend! Right now I’m rearranging my life to do what makes me happy. I want to wake up and do what gives me joy and that is taking care of animals. I have a cane corso and 1 pit bulls. If I can care for these boys then I can care for ANYTHING! I’ve much experience with bully breeds and non bully breeds. I understand and recognize behaviors and what they mean. I guarantee your pet will be safe with me. Safe, happy and loved!!!
“First time using Rover and Ruth was amazing! Took great care of our dog and her communication was great. We definitely felt at ease having her stop by to take care of him. Will be rebooking with her next time we need it!”

“Nannette did a great job with my cats! They are very shy but were comfortable with her and came out each time she visited. She was consistent in her visits and sent great pics so I knew all was well. Thank you!”

“Kimberlee was very communicative and reliable! She took great care of Linus and made sure he was doing well with his food, water and litter box. Would definitely rebook!”

“Valeria did great letting my dogs out during the week. She was especially patient with my anxious dog that is scared of strangers. She was very communicative and I would not hesitate to hire her again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elkhart. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
