“We arrived and Khanh was ready to take on Gracie Mae. We set up her things in a back room as she had another bigger dog in the front, made us feel safe. Gracie Mae was fed and watered. When I arrived all of Gracie Mae items were packed up and ready to go. Gracie Mae must of had a fun time, she was sleepy and took a rest on the way home. Thank you Khanh.”

“Rachelle was wonderfully attentive and extremely helpful when our family needed help with Levi. She accommodated his needs and understood our scheduling needs. Her home and pups were extremely welcoming and Levi had a delightful day being loved and cared for by Rachelle and playing with her pack!”

“Melissa was lovely! Provided updates during the day. Lorenzo and her son def tired my Rambo out and Rambo looked SUPER HAPPY when I picked him up! Looking forward to booking with Melissa and her snails very soon! 😇”

About: My friends and family call me the pet whisperer. Or, "even your pets listen to you" I have a great understanding of animals, and a natural love and care for their well being. I began babysitting and pet sitting at age 11, including horses! Have always been a caretaker type, including being a full time nanny, also taking care of their animals-dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs. Available on weekends and partial Mon and Fridays. Flexible, long term, or short term last minute welcome. Home most of the time on the weekends except for short errands, as our house is centrally located, close to shopping, yet not directly on a busy street. Like a relaxing vacation for your loved one while you are away. Our pets are part of the family and enjoy many benefits of our house. Plenty of playing and lounging room for all! We have a living room, rec room and screened in porch, for warmer weather, all with dog friendly furniture and lots of windows for plenty of comfy napping. lounging, squirrel watching...with a dog entry door to the large fenced in yard and deck through the kitchen. My musically talented teenager will play lots of nice music on his piano and ukulele as well as run around the yard with the dogs, and there is a park within walking distance from our house if more exploration is desired! We have one chocolate lab who is very friendly and social, and loves company!
About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely treat pets as members of the family, not just animals I’m watching. I have experience caring for dogs with different personalities, including shy or nervous dogs who need extra patience to build trust. I’m attentive to details, follow routines closely, and understand how important consistency is for a pet’s comfort and well-being. Because I care for my own dogs daily, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels and communicating concerns promptly. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, and affection while also respecting each pet’s individual needs and boundaries. My goal is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and at home while their owners are away, and for owners to have peace of mind knowing their pets are receiving personalized care. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I have two dogs, so I’m used to feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, monitoring behavior, and making sure they get plenty of attention throughout the day. I also stay on top of things like cleaning up after them, maintaining their routine, and watching for any signs that something might be off. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so fitting pet care into my day feels very natural. In my home, pets are treated like family. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and playtime. I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment where pets receive plenty of attention and affection throughout the day. I closely monitor their behavior, appetite, and energy levels and will follow any instructions regarding medications, dietary needs, or special care. My goal is to make pets feel comfortable, secure, and loved while they are in my care.
“Evee had an absolutely amazing time! Sami sent updates everyday and included pictures, I loved knowing my girl was well taken care of she got to go to the park, had lots of cuddles, and was visibly excited to see sami by day 3, would definitely book again and recommend to anyone!”

About: I have had my own dogs my whole life. Since being married in 1994 we have had 2-3 dogs at a time. We currently have two sweet dogs. One is a toy Berniedoodle and the other is a lab/bordercollie. I am the one in our family that does the puppy training. I am a retired school teacher. I am home most days unless I have errands to run. I love to take our dogs for walks. I have two friendly dogs. One of our dogs is very playful. The other is shy at first but warms up. They are crate trained at night. We have a dog door so our dogs go in and out all day. We have an extra crate if needed. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture for snuggles.
About: Finding the right sitter matters — especially when your dog needs more than just a walk and a bowl refill. That’s where I come in. I have over 15 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. From energetic puppies to senior dogs and behaviorally challenging cases, I’ve cared for and handled dogs with a wide range of needs. My background includes extensive volunteer work at animal shelters, where I gained valuable experience reading canine body language, managing stress, and working safely with dogs that require extra patience and structure. In 2021, I earned my Certified Dog Trainer credential through Animal Behavior College, and I continue my education through Leerburg University, focusing on canine behavior, handling, and communication. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — every dog is different, and I tailor my care to what helps your dog feel safe, calm, and confident. If you’ve been told your dog is “too difficult” or “too much” for most sitters, I encourage you to reach out. I have experience with reactive, anxious, high-drive, and medically complex dogs, including administering medications and injections when needed. My goal is not just to watch your dog, but to advocate for them while you’re away. For safety and individualized care, I only accept one family of dogs at a time. This allows me to focus fully on your dog’s routine, comfort, and well-being — no overcrowding, no chaos. I’d love to schedule a meet & greet so we can make sure it’s a great fit for everyone. You’ll leave knowing your dog is in capable, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring hands. Thanks for stopping by my profile — I look forward to meeting you and your best friend soon. I'm hoping to make canine boarding/training my new job. I still work full time in a hybrid remote role. I will only accept boarding reservations where I know I will be home. I prefer to exercise dogs by walking them, but will do anything to keep your friends on their own routine. Anything you can share with me about your dogs preferred routine will help me keep their schedule as normal as possible.

“Leti was great! She was quick to respond to my booking request, was friendly, flexible, and had good communication overall. My dog had so much fun playing with Leti’s dogs and running around in her spacious backyard. I really appreciated her hospitality towards my dog and her keeping me updated while she was taking care of him. I felt confident that he was in good hands. Thanks again Leti! ?”

About: Hello, My name is Lerin, I am a professional dog groomer/handler of 10 years. I have experience with dogs ranging from puppies to Geriatric babies. I am quite experienced with dogs with behavioral issues. If our schedules work out and I can help you help your kiddo I’m more than happy to. I work full time as a dog groomer. So my schedule for drop in’s/walks. Looks like a walk in the AM before work. So anytime guaranteed before 8:30 and anytime guaranteed after 4:30. If the distance to your home is within a reasonable distance from my job I can typically do a walk within my shift as well. Mondays and Tuesday’s I’m off all day and can come at any time. I treat every animals as if they are my own. Which I do see my pet families/clients as an extension of mine. They are apart of my life and I give care that brings them back. For that I can’t be more grateful.
About: Hi! My name is Stephanie, and my husband, three kids (3, 7, and 10) and I are so excited to love your dog while you’re away! A Roof for Ruffs is the brainchild of our 10yo daughter. We are a foster family for a local dog rescue organization where we take in one or two dogs at a time until they can find their forever homes. We’re having so much fun with fostering that our sweet girl suggested we take on paying clients between our fosters, and donate some of the proceeds to the same local dog rescue organization. ♥️ I’ve owned dogs my whole life. Between fostering, petsitting for family, neighbors and friends, and caring for my own pups, I have experience with all ages—from very young puppies to seniors and everything in between; small and large breeds; well-behaved and questionable; medical cases, and even the occasional cat. 😱 Your dog’s vacay siblings for their stay will include a 2yo female Great pyr/St. Bernard rescue pup, and two 4yo guinea pigs. We are so very excited to meet your dog, and to treat them like family for their stay. My husband works full time, but I am a freelance writer with flexible hours working from home while caring for our three kids. In other words: your pup won’t be left alone often! 😆 **Please note: all pets must have proof of updated vaccines and be okay with kids (they will be loved on and spoiled by our kiddos while they’re here!) I am home daily with my kids, so lots of potty breaks and playtime is possible throughout the day. We are available most weekdays or weekends unless blocked while we have a foster or for travel. We have a 4-foot aluminum fence in the backyard and live on a public park with a walking trail for easy exercise options. We have extra dog crates here if your pup is crate-trained or feel free to bring your own.
“Kayla was so friendly and super accommodating when we had to pick up a bit late due to car issues. She sent texts and photos and we felt very comfortable knowing Sophie was not caged up in a kennel while we enjoyed our time on the Verde Canyon Railroad!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I could walk. Pets have always been an addition in my family. I have also pet sat for friends and family when they have needed. To me, pets are family and I have always taken care of them like that. When I'm trusted to take care of someones pet, I treat them like their baby. We have 3.5 acres of farm and woodland. 1 acres is wooded and we have a trail and creek to play in. If things get too messy, we can always rinse off in the hose. I have a lead out back, but if your dog doesn't need it great! If your dog requires a little more, I have a fenced in area behind the barn that we can venture to as well. I live on a private drive, so not a lot of traffic and its nice and peaceful. I work 8-4 Monday through Friday. I live 20 minutes away and usually come home on my lunch break at 12 to let my dogs out and to let them run and play. I wake up early to take care of my chickens and ducks and let my dogs run around for about 30 minutes outside. With other dogs, we might wake up a little earlier and go on a trail or just walk up and down the road(.5miles) maybe more if needed. We then come inside and eat and drink and they are usually ready to go back to bed by the time I leave for work. On my days off we are outside constantly. If your dog is an introvert or loves ac, we do also let our dogs on the furniture for extra lounging. 🤣 At night we do a bit more outside since we make our rounds to make sure the birds are safe and fed and maybe another walk in the woods. Before bed, we do tick checks just in case! I care for all pets like my own and all pets have the same freedoms as my fur babies(unless specified so your doggo doesn't come home with any habits you don't want them to have). I have blankets on my couches and dog beds all over the house.
About: I have grown up with pets my whole life. I own 3 pups right now who love to play and would love any other pets to play with! Available 7 days a week, super flexible and humble. I’m accommodating and willing to work with any busy schedule. My contact will be available 9am-8pm I live in an apartment with no fenced in yard but I live next to Margaret Pace Park which has a small or large dog park and a long walking trail for your fur babies.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Edwards commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
