“I want to thank Ciara for caring for Abby while I was away. Ciara was kind and attentive and informed me about Abby's well-being during every check-in. I would ask Ciara to help again next time if she is available.”

“Meredith was great looking after my cat and I could tell she really cared. I was very nervous but she assuaged my fears and followed care instructions to a tee. She was very good about keeping me updated about my cat's well-being and my cat could sense she was there to help. Thanks again!”

“We cannot speak highly enough about Madison. She was so thorough and did everything we asked exactly as we asked her to. Excellent communication and always right on time. It is such a relief to know our babies are in good hands when we have to be away. We’d give her 10 🌟 if we could.”

“Jade did a great job checking in on my two cats while we were out of town. They were definitely less stressed out when we returned home (compared to times where we’ve left them alone for a few days with no sitter). Highly recommend Jade!”

“Kelly was awesome! She was professional for the meet and greet, and fantastic with our dog Lily. Lily can be a handful because she’s not good with other dogs, and large. Kelly was great managing that, and loving on her. Will definitely book with her again!”

I’m also currently looking for a summer job so I have lots of availability/flexibility! Your pet’a safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide attentive, responsible care in a clean, secure environment, follow all care instructions carefully, and maintain open communication with regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and informed while your away!
“Shayla is great with communication and flexibility. I have had a lot of last minute changes and she handles it all with ease. She handles my pack very well and gives them extra attention even though she’s only there for my puppy. I appreciate everything she does and continues to do.”

About: I have always had fur babys . I’m currently a vet Assistant, I have been one for seven years . I can administer all types of medications . I can take care of all medical needs and anything that’s needed from puppy’s to elderly baby’s . I have two dogs and four cats myself . I work as a vet assistant so I’m very knowledgeable in all areas of taking care of animals sick of healthy I have a fenced in yard . I house sit for my groomer and family when they go out of town so I’m no stranger to that as well !
About: I’ve been handling animals ever since I was 13, this includes cats, dogs, and even bunnies! (I had one that I let free roam). Cats and Bigger dogs are always a personal favorite but I truly love animals and even considered going into veterinary sciences! I can assure you, your animal is in great hands seeing as I have a cat and two dogs myself! I’m a current part-time nursing student who uses this as a sort of side job on top of my normal job that i work at full time (30hrs a week), but i still have a lot of time to care for critters of any kind! Whenever I’m at my Aunt and Uncles for up to a week dog sitting and house sitting for them, I make sure to feed both of their dogs and let them out at least every 1-2 hours especially after feeding them, and they stay outside for about 30mins-1 hour, but i don’t mind walking animals at all either! And of course I like to cuddle up with animals if they allow me too and give them play time as well as a little down time to cuddle up and be content!
About: I have always had dogs as pets since I was 3 years old! I had 4 growing up and have always had at least two at a time! I have a passion for caring for pets and believe all pets should be treated like our family! I do have some experience in dog first aid and will always care for your pup as my own! I work from home full time so I am able to play with the dogs and take them on walks/hike often! I have a 3 acre yard that is tucked away and an absolute oasis for dogs! I have two dogs of my own so I am already on a potty break schedule every two hours at least! I will always treat your pet like they are my family! I do let pets on furniture if that is okay with the owner and I will follow all of your instructions very carefully. I take this job very seriously and want your pet to have the best time possible! I will do everything in my power to make sure your pet is well taken care of and happy! I use Rover for my own pups when I go out of town, so I know how scary it can be to leave your pet with someone new! I will send you photos and videos throughout your stay, and you can even facetime your pet if you’d like! Whatever I can do to make your time more peaceful, please let me know 😊
“Madison’s experience at the vet gives our family such confidence that we can leave our dog in the best of hands. Her knowledge on how to handle “skiddish” dogs was perfect for our animal. She’s always on time and dependable. Boba loves her and that’s the most important thing to us. I would 100% recommend her to watch any type of animal you have.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
