There are no other pets in the home so my attention will be focused on your fur baby. My situation is good for those with anxious dogs who want a quiet but playful environment. I am familiar with observing animal behavior and making sure they feel safe. There is a one floor walk up leading to my home, so I just ask that your dog is comfortable with stairs (or small enough to be carried).

About: My husband and I have cared for and trained our own dogs since we were kids, sometimes as many as 4 dogs at once. Our beloved dogs Blue & Holly (both weimaraners) died two and one year ago and we find ourselves missing them both so much. We would love to host or walk your dog and give them the same love and attention we gave our Blue & Holly. We currently have 10 acres of land with numerous dog-friendly trails for lots of walking, sniffing, and exercise! Axel works from home and our family is also home most of the day and our boys are homeschooled so we have flexible schedules during school hours, most times after 8am. We may be able to be more flexible, so please let us know! For visits/walking: We are able to fit in whatever your pup needs. From walks (including small amount of training, if desired) to playing in your house or yard, to simple affection. Depending on the time or scenario, we may be able to go running with your pooch a few times a week. We love dogs! We have a large backyard and also go on at least two long dog walks per day. Dogs can snuggle in the house or play in the backyard throughout the day. We have 5 kids who have experience with large dogs and are eager to meet your pup. Please, only dogs that are good with children and other dogs.

About: Since I was 4, I've been caring for all kinds of animals, especially dogs. At one time as a kid, we had 4 Great Danes! I've had mixed breeds and purebreds, athletes and couch potatoes, puppies, seniors, and special needs. I've also trained them although I've never been certified. Something common that friends say after their dog has spent a week or more with me is "how come my dog is now better behaved?" Your neighborhood or mine, the local park, the dog park, or on dog friendly trails. One dog or many. Having had all kinds of pets, including a 23 year old cat who required daily fluids and Miralax because of kidney failure and old cat dry colon, a dog that suffered seizures, and others. I even had a big 7 pound black and white adult rabbit that I found dumped in the state forest; she was litter box trained, had the run of the house, used the big dog crate as her private home, and would take turns playing chasing the 93 pound dog. I've just always seemed to understand them and vice versa. I even enjoy caring for dogs that are hyper! Just let me know first in case I've got low energy dogs with me. I work remotely, set my schedule, and nothing makes me happier that being with and doing things with dogs. Dog park? Trails? Sure, if your beast is up for it. Play dates? Why not! Up for playing with my dog who is vaccinated for probably everything or wants to chase and be chased? Not a problem. Special needs or a senior? Just let me know. I have a fenced yard and a happy, boisterous 5 year old, 57 pound dog who adjusts his play style to what other dogs like. If he's too much for your dog, he takes correction from them, no problem, or I can put them in different places. He even lets little dogs beat him up without protest and if your dog likes rough play, he'll accomodate. He's happy and loves people and dogs. He has zero resource guarding issues; if your's does, he'll give them space.

I have walked dogs ranging from big to small, staying overnight with dogs & cats sometimes even for multiple days, administered medicine to cats who are either sick or older, taken pets to the vet. I love animals and I talk to them gently and give them lots of attention. I have a nice yard for if your dog comes over either for daycare or overnight and the area I live in has many different opportunities for fun walks. I also can come over to feed or play with your cat. I'm open to taking care of other pets too except for fish. I grew up with a beagle, taking him on walks, watching him when my parents would go on vacation, he lived until he was 14 years old. I then had a senior beagle/Boston terrier mix that I took care of for a couple years after his previous owner got too old to handle him. Now my family has a Chihuahua mix, and I walk and baby sit her all the time. I have a cat of my own. I have babysat my neighbor's cats, and my best friend's cat multiple times, even staying in their homes to give their pet the most attention possible. Please feel free to ask me questions. The only request I have is you let me know if your dog has any aggressive tendencies so that I am not caught off guard. I usually do meet and greets so we can talk in person and I can meet your pet and understand all their specific needs. My schedule is pretty flexible at the moment. I have marked on my calendar days I'm traveling or unavailable but the days I have open timing is not difficult for me. When I babysit I feed them regularly, take them out on walks approximately every 2 - 3 hours. I play games with them and talk very sweet to them and pet them if they like that. I have babysit both cats and dogs and will do meet and greets if that will make your pet more comfortable. I have also taken care of an elderly Mastiff, as well as helped train a puppy Malanois. In terms of areas I go to regularly Somerville, Medford, and Winchester are the three preferred places to go. I also sometimes dog sit in Cambridge.
