William did a great job over an extended holiday in a difficult situation where we had our pets and my daughter’s pet at the house. All the pets were happy and cared for. We would definitely use William again.

About: Hi, I’m Peyton! I’m a responsible and dependable pet sitter with experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. As a college student-athlete, I’m organized, active, and committed to providing pets with the attention, exercise, and care they need while their owners are away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or overnight care, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I am currently unemployed, so pet care is fully possible for me! I am very flexible with whatever you need me to do for you! I have a fenced yard, and if I am not letting dogs out into fence yard, I use the leashes to keep them very safe

Amy was fabulous! She arrived exactly on time so we could make it to our event with plenty of time. She was friendly and so sweet to Journey. We were so comfortable leaving our dog with her so we could enjoy our wedding in a strange city/state where we knew no one who could dog sit. Thank you Amy and Rover!

About: WHO LET THE DOGS OUT??? Me! So he/she can join me on a nice cool walk. I’ve taking care of dogs my whole life. From vet visits to fostering dogs until they found their right home. I stopped fostering dogs A few years back, it started to become very hard for me to let a dog go after spending so much time with them. I’ve been a dog mom my WHOLE life. At this point, my schedule revolves around my dogs, a mothers job is never done! I do not have kids unless you want to include my dog. I look forward to making time to fit your dog into my life. I have patience with them. Not all dogs learn and move the same. Especially with a new face coming around. But with my knowledge and my loving energy, your dog will easily fall in love with me.

About: I have cared for animals ever since I was a child. I grew up on a farm with lots of animals and have always had multiple dogs that are my children. I have always had a special connection with dogs but love ALL animals! I have extensive history caring for all types of animals with all kinds of medical conditions and needs. I personally own 4 dogs, a bearded dragon, and a snake! I work part time as a paramedic with lots of free time to watch your fur babies. Animal care is my hobby and favorite thing to do. I have a large fenced in yard with lots of room to play! Doggie pool, doggie beds, LOTS of toys and agility course for every dog to enjoy themselves. We also just installed an XL doggie door so they can come and go inside our home if needed or I can block it off for separated outdoor playtime. I have two dogs of my own that are very spoiled. This is their home, I am just allowed to stay and of course pay the bills! Your fur babies will be treated with the best care and most love. I have a wide range of dogs with varying breeds! I have a senior lab, collie with anxiety, snuggly pit bull, and super hyper husky. My day starts out by giving everyone kisses and a good morning walk followed by some snuggle/ play time with each individual baby. Our days are never dull that’s for sure! I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I will go above and beyond to make sure your fur babies get the care they need/ want. As a fur mom myself, I understand the struggles and anxiety that comes with finding a pet sitter. Me and my husband use to travel a lot and finding a sitter was near impossible. Now I have the availability to stay at home with a free schedule to not only care for my babies but yours too!

About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue around a year. I was responsible for fixing them food, water, cleaning their crate and playing with them. I also had a family dog growing up and currently have three cats. I work from home full-time and get multiple breaks throughout the day, so I am always available at home. I am a homebody and have the time to care for animals. I have a fenced in back yard with a grassy area. Pets sitting on the furniture and being around is no issue. I do have three cats, but I am able to keep them separate at all times.

About: With a lifelong passion for animal care, I have experience caring for a wide variety of pets, including birds, fish, reptiles, rabbits, and dogs. I am confident handling special care needs such as administering medications, as well as providing attentive support for puppies and senior pets. As a dedicated pet owner to my beloved Cockapoo, I understand the importance of trust and compassion when it comes to your furry family members. I would be delighted to provide reliable, attentive care for your pets. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I currently work part-time as an independent travel specialist, which allows me to create my own flexible schedule around the needs of the pets and families I work with. Because I typically work from home, I am able to spend most of the day with your pet, providing companionship, supervision, regular potty breaks, playtime, feeding schedules, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Pets in my home are cared for like family. I provide a safe, clean, and loving environment with plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and regular feeding schedules to help them feel comfortable and at ease while away from their owners. I understand how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and I strive to make every pet feel happy, secure, and well cared for.

About: I’ve taken care of many pets before; however that has been exclusively for family and friends. These pets have ranged from massive dogs to little pups, and I have loved every second. Currently out of school for the summer, and I have plenty of free time to take care of pets this summer. Any time works fine for me. I spend as much time as I can with my pets, and make sure they’re healthy and comfortable at almost all times whether that involves taking them on walks or making sure they won’t ever go hungry. They are rarely left alone for more than a couple hours.

FAQs for House Sitting - East Macon

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Macon on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 163 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Macon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Macon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Macon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Macon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
