“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Amber! We have multiple pets, including a very fickle and sometimes difficult Newfie, and she handled everything so patiently and confidently. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets were being cared for by someone who truly understood them and took the time to make them comfortable. She provided frequent updates, pictures, and communication throughout the stay, which we appreciated so much. It was obvious our pets were getting lots of attention, care, and love while we were away. Coming home to happy, relaxed animals says everything. We will absolutely book again and highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate sitter — especially if you have large breeds or dogs with unique personalities!”

About: I have experience taking care of both dogs and cats from three different boarding facilities, two larger and one smaller, personalized facility! I currently work as a trainer at Happy Dog Lodge in Cambridge, MN. In addition, I have experience as a groomer, foster, and volunteer with a senior dog rescue, Grey Face 🤍 I work with dogs on a daily basis all ranging from walks, training exercises, enrichment, grooming and nail maintenance, etc.. Please ask about any services I may be able to provide! My personal dog is the contributor to much of my experience as well. I have knowledge in training behaviorally challenged dogs with behaviors specifically focused on separation anxiety, human reactivity, bite risk/management, dog reactivity, and basic fear and anxiety in dogs. To me, a happy dog is not only one that can play to their hearts content but one that also is allowed the time for mental enrichment through interactive toys, positive reinforcement training, routines, satisfying walks, games involving food and treats. I would be happy to care for your pets and provide them with the most enriching time possible. Pet care is my daily and weekly routine! My schedule is flexible and ever changing- so, I can always check my availability and work to make your pet fit into my schedule if possible! I have experience walking multiple dogs at a time and handling dogs safely in open environments. I make intentional points to always be attentive to dogs regardless if they are fenced in or not. When I am caring for someone else’s dog, or my own, I make sure their safety is guaranteed. This is a skill I have sharpened since owning a fear reactive dog and caring for multiple dogs on a daily basis.

She picked up the booking with only a couple days notice (life saver) and even made time in her day to make sure to give him a walk - even walking him on the day that we got home.”

This was the first time we ever used Rover and our first time leaving Faye alone since her pup brother crossed the rainbow bridge so I was pretty nervous. If you're thinking about reaching out to Aida, I would say definitely give it a shot! She has a lot of positive and friendly energy that your kiddo will love! Thanks Aida!”

“Rachel is fantastic!! I was nervous about the prospect of having someone we didn't really know well come and dogsit in our home, but Rachel immediately put us at ease. And it was quickly apparent that our dogs felt the same - one of our pups is usually very standoffish and wary of strangers, but even he was comfortable and cozying up with her in just the first time meeting her. Very much appreciate the quality of care Rachel brings, looking forward to having her back (as are our dogs!)”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for about four years and worked in a veterinary hospital for three years. I have cared for cats, dogs, reptiles, and even farm animals. With my veterinary experience, I understand animal behavior and basic medical needs, allowing me to provide loving, reliable, and attentive care while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work part-time as a waitress, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule and provide attentive, consistent care for pets. When I have advance notice, I can adjust my work schedule to accommodate pet sitting needs. For overnight stays, I prioritize spending most of my time in the pet’s home to ensure they feel comfortable and cared for. I care for pets in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I like to follow routines, maintain a clean and secure environment, and provide plenty of attention and supervision. With my past experience, I’m attentive to behavior changes and health needs to ensure safe, reliable care.

She not only took amazing care of our puppy, but she also left our house neat and tidy. She arrived on time and was very thorough with all of the details. We will definitely ask Brooke back to our home to care for our boy.”

About: My dogs have always been very high needs growing up, so I have a lot of experience working with different diets, medications, and needs. I'm an athlete, so I can take them out for long periods of time to get exercise as needed, which can be really helpful for hyperactive dogs who have to be cooped up during the day. I'm also entirely capable of caring for senior dogs, I can take things at their pace and make sure they're comfortable and happy. I am currently a full time college student, but I have a lot of open time either between classes or after them. I commute to the Twin Cities from the suburbs, so I can easily travel wherever I am needed to be able to check in on or take care of your furry friends. Being in the cities with my own car I can take dogs out for walks around the lakes or down some of the trails nearby so they (and I) can get some proper exercise before my classes. When caring for pets, I always make sure they are getting plenty of time to move around, especially if I'm just dropping in to check on them, but regardless of the need. I like to keep a checklist of what I need to get done, as well as just having a bit of time to play with or pet them. I can take pets out for walks on foot or with my roller skates, which lets me go longer distances with them. I make sure to clean up any messes I might make, putting everything back as I found it and keeping things nice and tidy for when you get home again. I'm confident staying in new places, and can make sure everything stays safe in your home or space during my time there.

Most bookings cost between $29 and $36 per night. sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

 • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
 • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
 • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
 • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Lake Francis Shores walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Lake Francis Shores maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

 • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
 • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
 • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Lake Francis Shores choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
