“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Amber! We have multiple pets, including a very fickle and sometimes difficult Newfie, and she handled everything so patiently and confidently. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets were being cared for by someone who truly understood them and took the time to make them comfortable. She provided frequent updates, pictures, and communication throughout the stay, which we appreciated so much. It was obvious our pets were getting lots of attention, care, and love while we were away. Coming home to happy, relaxed animals says everything. We will absolutely book again and highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate sitter — especially if you have large breeds or dogs with unique personalities!”

“Kerian was wonderful! She communicated very well and was very responsive to texts. She provided updates throughout her stay as well as pictures! Our pets were very well cared for and happy!! We will definitely be using her again!!”

About: I have dog sat for a family friend for a long time now! I usually stay at her house and take care of her doggies. I am currently a full-time teacher looking for some extra work. If I stay over at your place, you would have to be okay with me leaving for the day to go to work, but I will come right back to take care of your loves. I am available most weekends :) I can take your dogs out for potty breaks, play fetch, take walks, etc. I love giving furry friends treats, pet rubs, cuddles. I can fill up the food and water bowls.
“Natalee is amazing! She stayed with our two puppies and updated us on all the fun. Our one dog can be a little anxious, and by the end of Natalee staying with them, our dog had warmed up her completely. We highly recommend Natalee!”

“Madeline is a very awesome young woman. She is great with cookie goes above and beyond what she needs to do we get home our house is always clean and left the way we left it. She takes wonderful care of cookie walk. Her plays with her spends times with her.”

“My dog and I fell in love. Andrea is amazing. I feel so comfy on vacation because she is an excellent sitter for my Kayce. My pitbull was in heaven! She is the best. Highly recommend.”

“Jessie took GREAT care of our two energetic pups while we were away. We knew they were safe and loved. She also left our home neat and organized: a total pleasure to return to when we got back. Her communication is excellent! Thank you, Jessie!”

“Hope did a great job watching my dog Charlie. She was communicative and gave him a lot of love and special attention. She picked up the booking with only a couple days notice (life saver) and even made time in her day to make sure to give him a walk - even walking him on the day that we got home.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, chickens mainly for family and friends, some neighbors. I very good with young hyper dogs considering I have a miniature Aussie. I also have a 12 senior dog who can only go on 15 min walks. I love all animals wether it’s watching/playing with them or taking them on walks! Pet care fits into my schedule cause I’m a young hairstylist who is trying to fill up her books. Being a new hairstylist isn’t easy and I want to fulfill my time well considering bills I have to pay each month I am very comfortable with animals depending if you want me to spend the night or not. I’m very flexible with coming and going or simple taking them on walks. I love to take my own dogs on walk and runs as well!
“Alex was so wonderful with our pets! She sent us great updates each day, so we knew they were well taken care of and were in good hands while we were gone. We will definitely be asking Alex to take care of our pets again the next time we go out of town!”

“Evelyn is a top-tier sitter. Great communication (lots of photos, keep me apprised of the goings on while I was away), super respectful (I think my house was cleaner when I got back than when I left it), and most importantly: my boys loved her. Would book with her again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Evelyn!!”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for about four years and worked in a veterinary hospital for three years. I have cared for cats, dogs, reptiles, and even farm animals. With my veterinary experience, I understand animal behavior and basic medical needs, allowing me to provide loving, reliable, and attentive care while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I work part-time as a waitress, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule and provide attentive, consistent care for pets. When I have advance notice, I can adjust my work schedule to accommodate pet sitting needs. For overnight stays, I prioritize spending most of my time in the pet’s home to ensure they feel comfortable and cared for. I care for pets in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I like to follow routines, maintain a clean and secure environment, and provide plenty of attention and supervision. With my past experience, I’m attentive to behavior changes and health needs to ensure safe, reliable care.
About: Have a family of 3 dogs and 2 cats and my family and I love our messy and hyper fur kids, no matter the situation we do research to avoid getting our fur kids sick and keep them feeling loved and relaxed :) I graduated from college this past summer and am working part time jobs so I have time to take care of friendly pets of any kinds and more than happy to house sit as well for any vacations! We have a fenced yard and we have a crate to put them in when they are doing naughty behaviors like digging through the trash or grabbing things (like food on the table) when they aren’t supposed to. I take them on walks and give them toys to play with as they love tug of war and enrichment toys to keep them busy while we are otherwise we cuddle and watch tv on the couch in my free time.
“Shea stayed at our house and took care of our dogs while we were on a week vacation in Costa Rica. She did a wonderful job. She sent us updates/photos every single day. We came home to a house that was cleaner than how we left it and some happy pups. We 100% will be booking her in the future!”

About: Hello! I’m Erin, I am a 20 year old female. I have owned dogs my entire life and love how relaxing it is to walk them, I also get frequently asked to walk/ dog sit for my family and friends! And don’t worry if your dog has a little more energy than others, I also love to run! I am also very patient with dogs and I think it’s is cute to watch them sniff around and show me where they want to go, I am very patient with older dogs and don’t mind slowing down:). I have very open availability during the week days, I am willing to travel, and would love to meet your puppy! I am currently a part-time waitress, only serving on the weekends. My week day schedule is pretty open, I enjoy going to the gym in the morning, but if needed I can set that aside:) When I dog sit/ walk my friends and families dogs I make sure to follow there instructions very thoroughly, every dog is unique in there own way:). And with dog walking I make sure to never let them off the leash and I try to avoid interactions with other people, you never know how a dog will react and it is better to be safe than sorry!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 671 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Walbo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Walbo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Walbo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Walbo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Walbo. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
