Stoph did a great job and went through the trouble of putting boots on my dog every day to keep him as comfortable as possible during a really bad cold spell.

Amber was the friendliest and most reliable sitter for my 1-1/2 year old Malinois/German Shepard mix. She is truly a dog lover! Aura is a timid rescue pup. Amber’s gentle and calming personality contributed to my dog feeling enough at ease to venture out for sixteen hour long walks. It was such a relief to know that my fur baby was in caring, capable hands while I recovered from surgery. Amber, thank you for being a shining star when I needed canine help and support!!!

About: I've had cats and dogs most of my life, and have had many other pets over the years. I used to volunteer at the local animal shelter, and in recent years, have started dog sitting for a pack of 4 giant dogs. I also have experience caring for pigeons, rabbits, frogs, chickens, and hamsters. I love all animals, even the slimy and slithery ones, and feel comfortable caring for any pet with proper instructions. I'm currently unemployed and have a lot of availability! I don't do much nowadays, and would love to spend some time with some cute animals. I prefer not to work Sundays and Mondays, however that is simply a preference and not set it stone. I have a lot of flexibility! I do not care for other pets in my own home, specifically because our cat is easily startled and I absolutely do not want to stress him out with unfamiliar animals! I'd be happy to care for your pets in your home. I can handle feeding, playtime, and administering some medications. I can also do shorter walks (under 15 mins)

Nicole is simply amazing. This was my first time ever using Rover and we got so lucky finding Nicole. My dog is very nervous around new people, and she did an amazing job respecting her boundaries and was so patient with her. Will definitely book with her again and recommend her to everyone!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and love meeting new ones. I currently have an elderly dog who doesn’t get around as easy as she used to. I’m looking to get some walks and playtime in with some more pups. I currently have a flexible schedule and work from home. This allows me to accommodate the needs of dog and pet owners. I’m an active person so multiple walks a week work great for me! I am a respectful and professional lover of animals of all kinds. I will treat your home and pets as if they were my own.

Colby did great with our Basset Hound, Muffin. They both seemed to enjoy each other immediately. They went for a nice walk, and Muffin offered Colby many kisses afterwards as a thank you. Colby seemed to handle Muffin's little antics quite well, and they parted as new friends. Thank you, Colby!

About: When I was growing up my family always had dogs and cats. I have two dogs of my own (I have a senior shepherd mix and a 1.5 year old lab mix) as well as a cat. I work with middle school students during the school year and would love to spend my summer taking care of animals. My dogs are my priority so I can’t commit to overnights but with my days free this summer I would love to do some dog walking, house sitting and cat sitting. I work full-time during the school year but I have the summers off with plenty of free time to spend cuddling with some cats. I’d love to do dog sitting as well but am not sure I can commit to overnights as I have my own two dogs at home who need me but I’m open for daily support such as walks or feeding during the owners’ work hours. My dogs use a long lead out back and aren’t left unsupervised for long. When my cat was alive he had his own separate space away from the dogs as well as easier access to food, water and litter as he was arthritic.

About: I promise to keep your fur baby safe and happy as can be while you're away. I will provide playtime, walks, cuddles and a lot of attention. I am very interactive and not afraid to be goofy in order to make a genuine connection with your pet. Don't be afraid to leave me detailed instructions- I get it and have fur and feathered babies of my own! I am able to walk up to 2 to 3 big dogs at a time and feel confident in my abilities to give commands and appropriate rewards/disciplines. If your pet(s) gets dirty, I will bathe them as well as clean up any messes that occur. I also will keep your home sweet home neat and tidy so you never come home to a mess. I have grown up with pets and have always owned one or two.. okay, maybe 3 at a time. I make genuine connections with animals (wild ones, too) and would love to give them the opportunity to get outside all season long (even in the winter). If your pet would like an adventure buddy and companion who will distract them from your absence then give me a shout. Feel free to contact me with questions and concerns. I would be more than happy to chat with you!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Calais. On Rover:

  • 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
