“Rachel has done a phenomenal job at taking care of my dog. She was very communicative and went above and beyond. My dog is quite anxious especially around new people, I could tell how comfortable she made him. I highly recommend booking with her!”

“Chas was the absolute best!!! She took care of four pets that all can be shy but they had no problems with warming up quickly! She gave lots of positive updates throughout our long trip and we were able to fully relax! Cannot recommend her enough!”

“i will definitely recommend and use Ryan again, he took great care of my dogs, he took detail on what their schedules and needs, my dogs where well taken care of, Ryan was a great help while i was on vacation! 5 stars!”

“Trish was great and made herself available on short notice to meet and watch our puppy, Ophelia, who absolutely loved her. We really appreciated kindness, disposition, and flexibility. We'll now feel more comfortable going out knowing Ophelia is lovingly cared for.”

“Elaina was amazing with our pups! She did an awesome job taking care of them and loving on them and sent just the right amount of pictures. They loved her too! She also left our house clean, which was nice! Would highly recommend!”

“Toni was beyond good to myself, my dogs, and my house. I was super comfortable leaving my dogs in her hands and she took exceptional care of them. I came back to my home cleaner than it was. Toni is like if a guardian angle came to dog sit for you. 🤍”

About: I’ve always grown up with pets of all kinds. My neighbors have constantly relied on me for dog and cat sitting. I’m very excited to meet your pets! I am a college student at the University of Tennessee, but I am living in Chattanooga this summer! I will be available part-time and overnight since I’m taking summer classes at UTC. I have classes on Mondays and Fridays from 9:30AM to 11:00AM, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30AM to 2:30PM. I will still have plenty of time to spend with your pets, but just wanted to be clear about my schedule! At my house, I have a yard where my dogs can let out their energy, and also enjoy taking them on walks. I know how important it is to keep dogs on a consistent schedule. It’s also very important to me that you’re dogs are comfortable with me and their surrondings.
“Bonnie came to visit before our trip so we could meet before we left. She sent a photo of the pets when she arrived and more photos each day we were gone. When we came home the house was as we left it and pets were happy. We never had to worry. We’ll definitely reach out to her first next time we need a pet sitter!”

“Malinda is wonderful. She knows what she is doing. She's very professional and friendly. She did a great job watching three very different dogs. Could not recommend her any stronger. She is fantastic!”

“JaNiya is a phenomenal housesitter, especially if you have shy animals (but *any* animal would love her!). We have two skittish greyhounds and a very shy adopted cat. Within one day, our cat was sitting in JaNiya’s lap, and our dogs were relaxed and happy. I couldn’t believe it! She has such a calm, tender presence, and you can tell she adores animals. She’s even studying to be a veterinarian! Do not pass her up! She’s the only housesitter we’ll use from now on!”

“Jade always takes great care of my dog. Sends lots of pictures and keeps the communication lines open so I always know how things are going. Have used her several times and will continue to do so.”

“We booked Allie for house/petsitting for a weekend and she was fantastic! She took great care of our cat and 2 dogs, sending frequent updates and great pics of all of them. We had an unfortunate dead possum situation in our back yard, and she took care of it, which was above and beyond her job description! We will absolutely book Allie again in the future and highly recommend her!”

“Ladonna was so caring and thoughtful in her time with our sweet Kenya. She brought items with her to entertain her and made our sweet pup feel safe even with us gone. She will be my go to when we are out of town without our pup.”

“Emilie for sure has a passion for the pets she cares for, she made sure to care for our pets like we asked and exceeded our expectations! She went above and beyond plus our pets loved her ( even the cat😲) which just shows how well she did with them! I couldn't recommended her more and we will sure be booking with her again!”

“Keelee was wonderful and I felt good knowing I had someone like her looking after our dogs. So much better than taking them to a kennel. I have an old dog and she (through no reason for being in a kennel) ended up in the ER due to a spinal tumor while we were on our last trip. So to be able to just have her be in the comfort of her own home this time was a relief. Keelee also kept in good touch with me and promptly answered any questions or concerns. Thanks for your care.”
“Amanda is fantastic! She sent messages and pictures everyday and we could tell our babies were well cared for and loved! We will be using Amanda every time we go out of town from this point on. Our house was spotless when we got home and she went above and beyond to take care of everything for us. We felt very at ease knowing she was here which made our vacation even more relaxing, and we are so thankful for her!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Brainerd walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Brainerd maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Brainerd choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
