About: I’ve worked with dogs in a professional capacity for over a decade, including managing structured environments where consistency and temperament mattered. That experience shapes how I approach in-home care today: calm, observant, and steady. I adapt well to each home’s environment. Every household has its own rhythm, and I focus on maintaining that rhythm rather than disrupting it. I respect property, keep to designated shared spaces, and treat each home responsibly while I’m there. With animals, I prioritize patience and regulation. Dogs often mirror calm, consistent energy, and I remain relaxed and steady in my interactions. Whether maintaining feeding schedules, reinforcing expectations, or adjusting to unexpected wake-ups, I approach care with composure. I value clear expectations so I can maintain healthy boundaries and provide dependable, consistent care throughout your time away. Pet care fits naturally into my week. I maintain a consistent daily routine with flexible hours, and afternoons and evenings are open most days. Feeding, walks, and check-ins happen at reliable times so pets stay comfortable and owners know what to expect. I approach every home and animal with calm professionalism and respect. I’m attentive to boundaries, cleanliness, and consistency — whether I’m providing a single visit or longer in-home care. I don’t currently have pets of my own, which allows me to focus fully on the animals in my care. My priority is reliability: safe handling, clear communication, and a steady, grounded presence.

About: I grew up with multiple dogs and enjoy playing with and caring for neighbors’ and friends’ dogs as needed. I don’t own a dog at present but that’s only because a couple of our cats are really particular :) I’m flexible most of the time and willing to prioritize the care of your pet and would enjoy the chance to befriend your dog or cat. I am often called a pet whisperer and am happy to spend whatever time necessary to build trust with your furry friends so that I can provide the care they need in your absence.

I am comfortable with feeding routines, litter box maintenance, walking or outside time for dogs, and spending quality time with each animal I sit for. I am currently only working part time so I have flexibility to spend more time with your pets! While I am not able to stay overnight every single night , I can make frequent visits if needed and will prioritize the time schedule set for your pets to keep them on their routine! Karie has been great this past week and I know she will continue that going forward. Since losing my wife last month, my life has been in shambles. I needed to go back to work and could not leave Maggie in the house all day, it wouldn’t be fair to her. And then I found Karie, she is doing a fantastic job making sure that my girl gets to go outside and take care of business and get some much needed exercise. I will continue to have Karie drop in to take care of my girls as long as she is available and I need the help. Hopefully Lucy will begin to come out of hiding and show herself more to Karie.

From the moment we met Kelly, all of our worries about leaving our kitty alone went away. You can immediately tell she is a warm and caring person who loves animals. Her communication was perfect and she always sent lots of photos of her visits. The photos would show her on the ground playing with our kitty. It made my heart melt. I knew she was being so taken care of and loved. I would recommend Kelly again and again. Thank you Kelly!!! You helped me be ok about the next time we go out of town. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Whether it's a nervous doggo, young pup, or a cat that needs some extra companionship and care, I'll be there when you can't! From raising my first puppy, to caring for each of the following 10+ doggos. From being my friends' go-to pet sitter for a wide array of pets to helping feed horses and muck stalls. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Brainerd. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
