“Summer was so easy to work with and clearly has a knack for animals. My skeptical aussies and cat loved her right away. She has a calm demeanor and responds promptly with comments and photos!”
About: We have experience caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, birds, and hampsters. We have successfully house and crate trained every dog we have adopted into the family. I work remotely Monday and Friday, so am home all day on those two days. My 16 year old son homeschools, so he is home all day, every day, and loves animals. I have a fenced yard and one dog that lives in the home. Lucy loves to have company, is crate and house trained. We currently have no other pets, but would love to have visitors to love on and send home at the end of the day. Please note that we will not accept dogs that are not crate trained. Since we care for a few dogs at a time, we do require they all be kenneled if we leave the home. We are not away from the home often, or long when we are gone. However, in order to ensure the safety of all dogs while we are away, they must be kenneled when we leave. I do understand kennels can be traumatic for some dogs, especially those that have experienced trauma in their life. I am sympathetic to this and know that we would not be a good fit to care for those pups who are not/cannot be kenneled.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, so I’m very comfortable caring for pets and understanding their different personalities and needs. I love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m happy to provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks, feeding, and cuddles while you’re away. I am currently a student at University of southern Indiana, living from home here in Evansville. I also have a part time job, but I would love to help in the mornings, in between, and after classes! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will follow your instructions carefully, keep your pet in a safe environment, and make sure they have everything they need. I’ll also keep you updated with pictures and messages so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“Kayla was amazing. Took care of my little friend while I was away with great communication and very professional. Took all the stress away of missing him!! Thank you so much and hope to work with her again soon :)”

“I had a last minute request and Megan rose to the occasion beautifully. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my fur children were being looked after. I really appreciated the photos of my cats that she sent. I will definitely use her again all schedules permitting.”

“This was our third time using Bailey for our very skittish rescue cat when we have to be gone more than overnight. She has always been punctual, polite, and communicative which I appreciate. He hides when she (or anyone) comes over, but Bailey always takes the time to physically find him at every visit to make sure he's okay. This time was no different. Gulliver was well cared for and we came home to an organized water and food station and clean litter box area.”

With experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, you can feel confident they’re in safe, loving hands while you’re away. Hi! I’m Kat, a stay-at-home mom and lifelong animal lover with three dogs of my own. 🐾 Being home with my little one gives me a flexible schedule, so pet sitting is a great fit for this season of life! I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind, whether you’re at work, taking a day trip, or going out of town. My goal is to make things as easy as possible for both you and your pets while keeping them comfortable with their normal routine. I’m happy to help with: • Drop-in visits and potty breaks • Feeding and fresh water • Walks and playtime • Lots of attention, cuddles, and company • Basic medication when instructions are provided • Photo and text updates so you know how your pet is doing • Bringing in packages/mail and other small pet-related tasks while you’re away I’m comfortable with different personalities, from energetic and playful dogs to pets who need a little extra patience and time to warm up. As a pet owner myself, I’ll treat your pets the way I’d want someone to treat mine—with patience, kindness, and plenty of love. ❤️🐶 I’m located in the Newburgh/Evansville area and would love to become someone your family can rely on whenever your pets need a little extra care! Your dog will enjoy a secure, fenced-in yard and the companionship of my three friendly dogs. Kennels are available if your pet is accustomed to crate time.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
