“Bree was wonderful! And most important, Sophie was a happy girl and well taken care of. Bree’s experience is such a plus and, after just a short time, we felt comfortable and assured that Sophie would be in good hands. We will definitely use her services again.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Tonie. She stayed with Walter for four days and when I got home, I couldn’t even tell I’d been gone. Walter was calm and happy and everything was absolutely perfect. Tony let me know that they were doing OK every day and I was so grateful to have her watching over Walter in my absence.”

“Alexis did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies. She made sure to keep them active, give lots of updates and make sure they felt spoiled and loved! Will definitely be using her in the future for all of our sitter needs!”

“Natalie was excellent with my dog! I left for a week vacation and she house sat for him. She came over before I left to meet him and immediately had my shy dog excited to play fetch with her. She kept me updated throughout the week and I came home to a healthy/happy dog! Would definitely recommend!”
“I would give Samantha a 10 if I could. She went above and beyond for us. I found Samantha after my previous sitter had to cancel unexpectedly. Samantha was very friendly and organized. My 2 dogs loved her right away. I was so happy that the pure excitement of my pittie did not overwhelm her. I could tell she had had experience with rambunctious dogs and handled it without problem. She asked questions that showed it was important to her to do the kind of job I wanted. I appreciated that. I also got to learn a little about her and her experience with pet/house sitting and felt very comfortable that my doggies would be very well taken care of care of. She kept me updated with pictures of them and their daily activities which included our pitty finding baby possums. When she texted me, I sent my daughter over so Samantha wouldn’t have to take care of it. But my daughter texted me back and told me Samantha had it all handled by the time she got there. Samantha also handled bad weather with the pups and informed me of tree damage from falling tree branches. She can handle it all. I came home to a very clean and organized home. I think the pups were glad to see us home but couldn’t really tell if they missed us or not. To me, that’s a good sign of a great sitter. I would highly recommend Samantha and will have her back every opportunity I can.”

“Brooklyn was able to help me out last minute and was great. She paid a lot of attention to my dogs and they really liked her. She communicated well and was fully invested in making sure my dogs were well-taken care of while I was gone.”

“Zoe did a great job loving my puppies while I was gone. She communicated with me and sent pictures of them during my time away. When I returned home everything was in order and it didn’t even look like she had been here. I will definitely be using her again.”

“This was our first time using anybody to watch our dog and home other than family or a boarding center, so we were super skeptical about the Rover process and hiring a stranger to watch our fur baby. However, quickly after meeting Logan, we knew we would welcome her in our home! She was very responsive, friendly and obviously loved animals. These traits were still apparent while she watched our dog in our home for 10 days. She sent us 2-3 pictures or videos of our dog daily (but also stated she didn’t have to if we didn’t want to be bothered on vacation) and we loved getting those updates! When we returned, the house was nice and clean, including fresh laundry and an empty dishwasher. She also offered to water our flowers and they were surprisingly healthier looking when we got back so I know she spent time holding up that offer too. Overall, our dog seemed happy and well cared for and we were pleased with the level of communication she provided. We will definitely use Logan again and would highly recommend her to anybody needing a pet sitter! We just hope she doesn’t get too popular! Thank you Logan!”

“Franki was great! My husband and both felt immediately at ease when we met her. She took great care of my dogs and the house looked great when we returned. I will definitely be using her again.”

About: I’ve taken care of family, friend’s, and neighbor’s dogs of all shapes and sizes! I absolutely love animals, and I’m willing to do whatever your furry friend needs. We have always had pets in our house, including one that needed long term care. If administering medication is what your pet needs, I’m more than familiar with it! I especially love big dogs, but like I said before…I love ALL animals, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have ample time to play with your animals! I run errands for my family as well, so frequent stops would be no problem! I am able to do whatever your dog needs as long as it’s at your own home. We have two cats, and it wouldn’t be smart for me to bring them here. However, walking, feeding, light grooming, and cuddling are all services that I offer!
“Tracy did a great job for our first time with a sitting. He took great care of our high maintenance household and we came back to a house of low stress animals.”

About: We have always had pets in the house, so taking care of them like they are family comes naturally. I currently have dogs, so understand the needs that come with ownership and will respect you and your animals the same way. I have taken care of dogs, cats, birds, spiders, rabbits, fish, and reptiles, so whatever your friend, I can help. I have reasonable rates and stay in your home so the animals don't have to get accustomed to a new environment, lessening the stress on them. I have cared for elder dogs and puppies alike so will clean up after them as required. If all you need is a walker, I can help, too. I have to walk my dogs a good distance to keep them calm (2+ miles), so I have sturdy shoes and am prepared to use them. I hope I can be of assistance to you! I'm not working at the moment so being with your loved ones will be my priority. While I may have errands to run or meet someone for dinner, the majority if my time can be spent taking care of and just being with your pets, if that is required. I do prefer to stay in the house if you are a drive to cut down on the back and forth. But I normally bring my own food and clean as I go. My goal is to leave the place so you never knew I was there, except that your pet is well taken care of. If I'm only needed for walks, let me know when to be there and can make it. I like to meet with the animals first to make sure we are compatible. After that, I am there to keep your routines in tact. If your dog needs walked or fed at specific times, I'm on it. If you cat requires 10 minutes of chin scratches before bed, I got you. If you need to grab a delivery that happens while I'm there, absolutely. I want you to feel 100% confident your pet and house will be cared for. If I'm just walking for you and you have been working on a skull from your dog, let me know. I've put both my dogs through training and understand the importance of consistency.
“Mariah was amazing! She came to our house and watched our 2 dogs for 4 days and did a fantastic job! I got daily updates as well as pictures letting me know how the dogs were doing the whole time. She played outside with them and spent quality time with them! I knew they were in good hands while I was away. She listened to all of the directions and left our house very clean! I highly recommend her and will be using her again for future bookings! If you are looking for someone reliable and trustworthy, book with Mariah!”

“Christie was fantastic! Biscuit does not like for us to leave her but she was actually good when we got home. Many times she has barked at us because she is mad that we were gone. She was glad to see us but not upset. Christie was very responsive by text and offered to send pictures while we were gone. Highly recommend!”

“Boston Did fantastic with my 2 dogs, she was reliable and easy to communicate with...She sent pics and let me know how my 2 dogs were doing, she was very quick to respond...her prices are very reasonable and I would highly recommend her...Thanks Boston..”

FAQs for House Sitting - Dunn Mill
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 250 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dunn Mill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dunn Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dunn Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dunn Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dunn Mill. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
