“Our second time having Kathy wat h our three kitties! She is awesome, always takes great pictures to include with her updates, and just overall super friendly! Thanks again!”

“Chelsea took a great care of our cat while we were on a trip. She also shared lots of photos of our cat during the drop in visits, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend Chelsea!”

“I cannot give enough praise and thanks to Ashlyn!! We have 5 indoor cats, a dog and a new outdoor kitten. From the moment I met Ashlyn I felt comfortable with her taking care of my babies!! She came to our house 4 times each day while we were on vacation and gave so much love & attention to our pets!! She scooped the litter, gave medicine, wet food, took our dog & kitten outside to play and sent a ton of pictures each visit showing that all our babies were safe and happy. I would use her services again in a heartbeat! I can't recommend her enough! Thank you so much, Ashlyn❤”

“Samantha is AMAZING! She was so good with our high maintenance kitty and followed all of our directions. She even searched all of her hiding spots so she could check on her and send us a pic. Would recommend!!”

About: I love dogs so much. My girl is part of the family. I do have a yard leash I use to ensure your pet is safe. I'd be more than glad to meet up in advanced or do a trial day. Please understand my dog is very important to me and my lifeline, so I understand how important your loved one is to you. I am a new mother and want to find a way to stay home with my little one. Thats why im looking for regular customers to care for. I do work during the day but I am able to run home if need be. My boyfriend is home during the day to be with the baby. That is why I want someone who can play with Ellie and keep her company durring those times. I enjoy running so ai can take the dogs with me. I let them have the run of most of the house. I close the bedroom doors when I'm gone but otherwise their free to tear up, chew, and run to their hearts content.
“Jessica did a great job looking after my fur babies while I was out of town. She made sure to reach out if she had questions and gave my kittens lots of treats and play time!”

“Heather was wonderful! Clover was well taken care of and enjoyed the walks and play time she had with Heather. We really appreciated the pictures showing that our girl was enjoying her visits. 10/10 highly recommend Heather's services!”

About: My name is Amber, and I am a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Veterinary Medicine. I will be attending Veterinary Medical school in the fall, and crowned a Doctor in 2030. My passion for animal care and medicine began at a young age as an intern in a veterinary clinic as a sophmore in high school. From that point forward, my career goals and purpose were solidified. I currently work in a veterinary hospital from 8am-5pm Tuesday-Friday, and a half day on Saturday. If located in town and necessary, I can always do a check-in on my lunch break. Otherwise, before and after my shift would be the typical visitation routine. When caring for your pets, they will be treated as my own. If servicing in your home, I will treat the area with respect and stick to their normal routine. If they are coming to my house, I live in a two story house with a sizeable yard, but it does lack a fence. I am more than happy to accommodate whatever their needs may be!
About: I have taken care of different types of animals for 8+ years. Growing up, my family has had 3 Labrador Retrievers and a cat, which is where my love for animals stems from. I have experience giving medications, dog walking, and simply giving pets to ensure they are loved. I would love to meet your dog and ensure they are taken care of while you are away! I do work a full-time job, which means my early mornings and nights are available for pet care (lunchtime hours as needed). Additionally, my weekends are very free for home stays/visits. Before taking care of someone’s pet in their own home I am sure to ask for all information regarding their normal routine, neighbors, what to look out for, etc. I make sure to follow the owner’s guidance to ensure your pet has a safe and comfortable experience with me.
About: I have been in the dog industry for many many years. I have worked in several different roles from city shelters to professional dog training. This is currently my full time job so I am openly available: Monday through Sunday. Preferably between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Thank you! I am an experienced pet owner and dog handler. I do have a fenced in yard and can house my personal dogs separately, if necessary.
About: Hello my name is Eli I’ve had dogs and cats all my life so I feel fairly well trained to take care of your pets needs as well. My grandpa was a veterinarian so I spent a lot time growing up learning how to take care for animals being around him. My family and Friends have relied on me to take care of their pets in the past and I hope you will too. I am a college student and I have breaks throughout the day that I generally go home or in your case hopefully take care of your house or animal. And my nights are almost free every night. I would like to say that I will try to keep your homes and your pets safe and happy while keeping the house the way I found it when I arrive. I pride myself in being a polite, caring and empathetic person so I hope to please the client in anyway I can help.
About: I grew up with multiple dogs in my home. And have always had a natural draw to them. Will gladly go above and beyond to provide them all the love and care while you're gone I currently have a couple part time endeavors and am able to create my own schedule, so am open to weekends and weekdays. Very flexible. I cater to all pets needs when in your home. Including walking, potty breaks, feeding, cleaning up after them, etc. Willing to get mail, and if there's any extras needed by the homeowner

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Dubuque
Genesys was great! If I need someone to check on my little guy while traveling again, I know who to rebook. Genesys was reliable and communicative, and also diligent when attending to unexpected snags in the beginning - such as my cat's bumpy first day without me there, and figuring out schedule / communication with a 6 hour time difference. We hit a good flow, my cat warmed up to Genesys quickly, and I came home after 2 weeks to a happy little fellow!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
