“Rebecca was SO good with our boys! They don't love strangers but she was so patient with them. She arrived on time and spent some quality time with them and followed all of our feeding instructions perfectly. We will be using her again in the future.”

“I am so extremely grateful right now. Hunter is the best match for my dog snow. Thank you so much for everything that you’re doing for me. I cannot even begin to thank you enough.”

“Lindsay was amazing! She watched our 3 cats while we were away and took such great care of them. She was extremely prompt on arriving each day and would stay extra long to give them all the attention and love they needed. She would even go out of her way to go find one of them if they were hiding under a bed to make sure they were ok. Our cats all have very different personalities and Lindsay was great at reading those and giving each cat the attention or space it needed. She took all the stress away from us being away and we knew our kitties were in great hands! On top of all the kitty duties, she was also great at grabbing our mail everyday, bringing out trash bins and keeping the house clean and tidy! We would highly recommend Lindsay and use her again! Thanks Lindsay!”

About: While growing up on a farm, I have always loved caring for dogs, cat, and horses with various needs. Friends and family have trusted me with their four legged companions of all sizes for many years. Whether your dog needs to burn some energy on a fun walk or your cat needs a friendly drop-in visit, I can't wait to meet them! 🐾 I currently have a very sweet Australian Shepherd, an extra fluffy cat, and four gentle horses and two donkeys - all with unique personalities and needs. I work remotely from home, so my schedule is relatively flexible. I'm more than happy to spend time with your pet, ensuring they receive proper care and attention. My backyard is fenced in, with plenty of room to play ball or practice agility. I respect other pet owner's space and home, as well as rules for handling or caring for their pets, ensuring I am both assertive and friendly.

About: I stand out as a pet sitter due to my expertise in both training puppies and providing compassionate care for senior pets. My commitment to meeting the unique needs of each furry friend sets me apart from other sitters. Currently home for summer break from MSU! I have a part-time job serving in my area but my heart truly lies with taking care of your furry friends :) In my care, I prioritize a comfortable environment, regular exercise, and personalized attention. I tailor my services to meet your pet's specific needs, ensuring a home-away-from-home experience that keeps them happy and secure!
“Melissa sent me loads of photos and took great care of my 2 year old dog and new, 8-week old puppy. She made me feel completely comfortable leaving them and they were happy, safe, and sound when we returned home :)”

About: I am a stay at home mom with 2 school - aged boys. My kids love dogs almost as much as I do and are very good at helping out with them. I have been a dog owner for 30+ years and our dogs have always been treated like family, including having their own Christmas stockings. We adopted our sweet senior rottie mix, Roary, back in 2023 and our indoor/outdoor kitten, Biscuit, in 2025. I will only care for dogs in my home that get along with children, dogs, and cats so everyone will feel comfortable. If your dog plays well with others, (s)he will be treated as family! I work from home, so I spend the majority of my day at home. Your pet will not be alone for long, if at all. We live on 3 acres and while we don’t have a fenced yard, your pet will spend plenty of time outside (on a leash) and be walked around the yard every few hours. I currently work from home. I will be able to take your pet for multiple walks daily and attend to their needs consistently. Even though I work from home, my time is important. Last minute requests will have a $25 charge added to the booking. I do not have a fenced yard, but I have a good amount of property and will walk your pup throughout the day. If they need more exercise, I do have a long lead I can put them on to play fetch or just run around. I do not allow the pups to be outside unsupervised or unleashed at any time.
About: I’ve been taking care of pets for 3 years. I have 6 of my own currently, 3 dogs and 3 guinea pigs. I love walking and hiking and I love to have puppy buddies that tag along. I am serious about checking for ticks especially with the rising amount this season so the owner is aware as soon as possible. I have full afternoons open almost every day of the week, this gives me something to work on in my free time, and what better way to spend my free time than with dogs! With my consistent schedule, it makes checking in with your pet easy. I can almost always fill any special requests your pup needs. I will always make sure their water is full and clean and have them all set when you get home
About: I’ve had experience with dogs my whole life. Growing up, my family bred Australian shepherds. I’ve owned small dogs like a Chihuahua and big dogs like Great Pyrenees. I’ve had experience with just about every breed of dog. I’m a pitbull lover as I currently own one. I love taking walks and giving lots of cuddles! I currently work full time in a school so I get plenty of time off including holiday breaks and summer hours. I only work 7 hours a day Monday-Friday. So I’m available for overnight care. I’m available most weekends as well. I would feel more comfortable in your home so your pets don’t get any anxiety being away from their safe place. I’m trustworthy and reliable. I’ve had background checks and I have reliable sources. Your pet will be in good care with me.
“Sarah has been dropping in during the work week for our older dog for several months now. Always so great with her, plays outside, and gives her a much needed break to the workday. Would 100% recommend, she's wonderful with our pup!”

“Molly was great! My cat is very shy with newcomers. I fully expected her to not come out when Molly visited but my cat immediately warmed up to her. It felt great to know that my cat was having fun and getting her daily cuddles when I was away. I also loved how Molly would send pictures after every visit. I would definitely recommend Molly.”

About: As a dedicated dog caregiver, I’ve spent years providing loving care to various breeds. As a trusted adult by family and friends, I prioritize each dog’s unique needs, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and loved. I do my best and more to create a nurturing environment where pets thrive. Bring a dog caregiver perfectly complements my part time job by allowing me to structure my day around both responsibilities. This role not only offers companionship but also ensures I remain active and engaged throughout the day. As a dog caregiver, I provide a personalized care in both my home and client’s homes. In my home, I create a safe and welcoming environment with plenty of space for play and relaxation. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, exercising, and bathroom breaks to ensure each dog feels secure. In clients homes, I follow their specific guidelines while bringing my own warmth and attention. I focus on keeping their pets comfortable, engaging them in activities, and maintaining a clean environment.
“Mckenzie is awesome! Super grateful for her help. She did a drop in visit for my pup and 2 cats, made sure they were set for the night and as always, sent pictures of the pets. Love that my fur babies have a new friend who we’re anll able to fully trust. Thanks again!”

About: I have been a part time dog sitter, cat sitter, house sitter, etc since I was 10 years old. I've also been a volunteer at my local animal shelter since I was 15. I've taken care of old dogs, young dogs, energetic dogs, couch potato dogs, friendly dogs, shy dogs, big dogs, small dogs, you name it. I've been doing this a long time and I've gotten really good understanding each pet and their individual needs. Every dog is different, and I love them all. I also have experience with dogs who need medications and ear drops, and I am Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid! I provide pet care full time, helping owners have peace of mind when they have to leave their buddies behind for a trip, or to go to work, it makes me happy knowing I can help out people and animals who could use an extra set of hands. I have an active personal life, always making plans friends and family, but offering services on here allows me to plan my leisure time around times I'm needed for pet care. Firstly, I want to say I understand meeting people online and inviting them into your home can be very anxiety inducing, and I want to reassure you that with me, your pet, your house, and your belongings are safe. If you have ANY questions or concerns, please let me know. I'm here to help answer anything that could cause you worry. Your pets are part of the family and I understand staying safe is a priority. When I personally am trusted to stay in someone's home, I usually stick around the same area of the house out of habit. I keep food where it belongs to prevent mishaps, and keep things off the floor to prevent injuries of their me or pets. When going for walks I like to stick to trails or sidewalked areas that have decent cell reception, just in case. I keep treats with me, extra bags, and have a phone holder for my wrist so I can have a hand free, especially for dogs who get excited from wildlife and could suddenly pull really hard anytime. I keep a pop up bowl and a bottle for water breaks. Before going for longer walks I touch test the path in case they are too hot. I also have experience putting jackets on dogs in the colder months.
About: I have cared for and owned all different kinds of animals. I have been in the horse riding industry since I was 8 years old so I am not skiddish towards other animals. I truly have a passion for animals and I am very able and willing to do what it takes to take care of your beloved pets!! I am currently a full time student, however I am a commuter so I have the ability to travel freely in between classes and outside of classes. I am on summer break from May-September and have a virtually free schedule for whatever you may need! I am more than happy to confine to whatever you may need me to do in order to give your pet the best care possible. I have slept over, done drop ins, walks, etc. with other dog and cat sitting jobs and I am very comfortable.

About: Hello! I’m experienced with boarding tasks (feeding, administering medications, etc.), basic training, and in-home pet care. While I can't host pets at my place, I love coming to yours for walks, backyard play sessions, and overnight stays. **Dogs:** Happy to tire them out with walks, play, and potty breaks. **Cats:** Patient and gentle — I'll take the time to earn their trust. Previously worked with a small pet care business visiting clients' homes, so I'm comfortable following your specific instructions and treating your space with respect. Your pet stays happy at home. You stay worry-free. It’s a win-win! I’m currently working part-time at a dog kennel so I’m usually working 2-3, 8 hour or 6 hour shifts a week. If asked about requests in advance, I may be able to request time off to accommodate client needs. I don’t have the room to board dogs or cats in my current situation, however I am very experienced with boarding tasks and basic training. I absolutely love taking walks or just doing some play sessions in the backyard and enjoy getting kitties to warm up to me. I would mainly be looking for walks/play and potty visits, or pet sitting in the owner’s home.

I highly recommend Rebecca. I’ve actually even referred her multiple times. From the moment that we met her at our first meeting we absolutely loved her and our dog Suzie Q loves her. She is on time and reliable. She sends pictures and keeps us updated. I’m really glad we decided to do Rover. We feel very at ease with her, knowing that Susie is taken care of while we are at work.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
