About: I have taken care of animals my whole life! I have several years shelter experience, and during that time I worked hand-in-hand with veterinarians and dog trainers. I’ve always had a passion for dogs, and have two wonderful fur-babies at home. I’m currently available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday most of the day, and also on Friday after 4pm. Some Saturday and Sundays can be accommodated upon request but may require additional fees. I love to care for pets, and am flexible to meet each one’s needs! Walks, play-time, enrichment, and lots of attention! I will make sure to adhere to whatever schedule your pup (or kitty) needs!
“Molly accepted my last minute booking and I'm so grateful! She's really sweet and my dog loved having her around while I was out of town for the day. I'll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Khadijah was amazing with my dog, Bleu! She took time out of her schedule, beforehand, to come meet Bleu and I. Bleu is slow to trust people and Khadijah handled that perfectly! She sent lots of pictures while we were gone and I felt completely at ease with her watching Bleu. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Ilene was great usual! Not only does she take extra care with our finicky pups, but she is very respectful of our home and always leaves it in perfect condition. Highly recommend her and I will continue to book her!”

“FANTASTIC! My girls are very spoiled. I left LOTS of information and LOTS of instructions. Everything was followed to the T! I WILL use Rover.com again and I WILL ask for Kaela again! Daily Texts, daily photos, I returned home to the house exactly how I had left it! I am very pleased with my first Rover.com experience!”

“Isabella is pure joy. She is knowledgeable as well as professional. She kept in touch thru txts and sent pics often. I will book her over and over. If you are looking for a pet sitter Isabella is the one. Isabella I am grateful for the time you spent with my family. See you next time”

“I cannot recommend Syd highly enough! She stayed at my home for two weeks while I was away and took amazing care of my Leo. From the moment I left, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She kept me updated, gave Leo plenty of love, attention and care, and treated him like he was her own. Not only did she take wonderful care of Leo, but she also looked after the fish, watered my plants, and kept my house in great shape. Coming home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for home was such a relief. She went above and beyond in every way, and I would absolutely book her again. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring, Syd is the one!”

“Kailey was great with our nervous but good girl Jo. She kept us updated with goings on and sent photos of Jo enjoying walks and lounging around. She left the house in nice shape and took in our garbage pails. Would book again.”

About: I have taken care of several animals, and I thoroughly enjoy it! I am very active and find walking or running a hobby with dogs. We would absolutely love to welcome your pup into our home! I currently work full time and get off at 4:30 but have plenty of free time on the weekends, afternoon walks during the weekdays after work! I like to modify my care routine depending on each pet and their needs. In my home I like to provide treats, and toys, with unconditional love. I have a schedule for routine feeding.
About: I have had dogs since I was 12. They have always been a favorite animal of mine. My family would always ask me to watch there dogs for them when they went away. I am off 2 days a week and I just wanted that time to spend taking care of dogs. I like to go on hikes and run around with my dog. I have a decent sized yard for your pups! My dog is also very friendly and would love some company whenever she can get it! I’m up to doing whatever you want for your pet.
“We couldn't be happier with the way Eren and Luca cared for our two young cats while we were away! They gave them so much love and attention, and were very patient with our skittish kitty, monitoring him carefully to make sure he was getting enough food when he was too anxious to eat at regular mealtimes. They were great about checking in and sent us lots of video and photo updates, making it easy for us to relax during our trip in the confidence that our cats were being well taken care of. They followed our instructions carefully and left our house just as they found it. We highly recommend them!”

About: I am in school to become a dog trainer. I’d love to have more experience working with dogs! I’ve been around dogs my whole life! I’d love to help care for your fur babies! I also work at Camp 4 Paws in Kunkletown PA and I’ve had experience working in other kennels prior! I am currently doing online school and working full time, my hours are 1-9pm every mon-fri. If I have enough notice I can take off if need be but I can also help before or after work and on weekends! If I have a list of what you want me to do, I will 100% follow it. I pay very close attention to detail and I will make sure your dog is well cared for! My dog is on a strict diet and I make sure to follow it no matter what. My fur baby has tons of toys and puzzles and lick mats, he has more stuff than I do!
“We cannot say enough great things about Andrew! His amazing care for our furry kids and home was top notch!!! Our furry kids were so relaxed when we got home! He sent numerous photos throughout his entire stay and is a true animal lover. Wish we could give 100 stars!”

“Renee is a gem. I almost don’t want to give her a good review so no one snatches her up! But here I am doing the right thing. Super sweet and clearly loves my dogs who get along great with her. Will definitely be booking with her any time I’m going away!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 698 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dorset. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dorset walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dorset maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dorset choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dorset. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
