“Brenda is amazing. She informed me that my dog was very lethargic and had tapeworms. I was out of town and she gave him medicine and nursed him back to his perky self. She treats him like he’s her own puppy. I absolutely love her as a sitter for my fur baby.”

“Mika did a wonderful job taking care of our dog. No hesitation in recommending 100%. She's very kind and has a gentle demeanor. She provides frequent updates and offer great communication.”

About: If your dog is your baby, then we are speaking the same language. I recently lost my baby of 16 years, so I am reopening my home for pet sitting and doggy daycare. I work from home full time, and have experience caring for senior dogs. Your babies will have plenty of dog beds, toys, blankets and couch seats to enjoy at my house. My apartment is more of a corner townhouse with a large green grassy area directly out front, and a creek walking trail just behind it. I have indoor smart cameras to monitor them if I need to step out or run errands. I understand that leaving your pet with someone else can be a little nerve wracking. I made a list of rules for my owns parents to watch my dog when I first got him, so rest assured they are in competent and caring hands. I will send plenty of pup selfies too so you won't miss them as much. Please let me know if you have any questions before booking. Does your pup want to be employee of the month? I work at home so the position is open and they will be treated with VIP status. Pets are allowed on all the furniture and cuddling is encouraged. I try to take any pet guests outside several times a day as they adjust to a new environment and so they can explore new places. I also have a crash tested dog car seat for up to 35 pounds if they like to go for car rides or visit the park.
“Vanessa was great and gave clear communication. She truly cares about caring for pets. My Bella came home with a bandana and treat baggie as well. We will definitely be using Vanessa in the future as our sitter for future vacations.”

About: I was a Veterinary Technician for 7 years. I went to Vet tech school and have my degree in Veterinary Technology. I am now a stay at home mom with a 2.5 year old and a baby. They have both been around dogs including my own and friends and families and my toddler knows how to treat animals with respect. I am very experienced in taking care of dogs and cats of all ages. I am always the first one to get called when my friends or family have animal related questions or need their pet looked at when there is a problem. I am experienced in giving medications to pets including: Oral, topical, and injectable. I am currently available from Monday-Sunday most weeks for boarding and daycare. I am mostly home all day unless I am needing to run errands or take my kids out of the house for a few hours. I have a fenced in yard here at my home for dogs to play, I also have a canopy outside and small baby pools for dogs to cool off in when the weather is hot. I have a notebook that I keep record of all of your pets information, this includes any medications needed, how many times a day they are fed and how much, sleep schedule etc.

“Chandra is amazing to work with! We received photos, and updates while our dog, Bauer was in her care. She made the process easy for us by picking him up and dropping him off him off when we needed it. Bauer had a great time at her house too! We will absolutely be using her again.”

About: I typically help neighbors & family with their pets when they’ve gone out of town many times. Walking, feeding, medicine, baths, etc. My parents recently got puppies that I helped raise from a month old! 💙 I work from home as a video marketer & work part time door dashing, which allows my schedule to be insanely flexible to help out with play time, walks, & drop by visits. 😎 I often help my elderly people bring their groceries all the way to the kitchen. I make sure to greet the animals, let them build confidence & trust, before entering the homes. My intention is to leave a safe impact on the house.
“Great host! Prompt communication and feedback. Even though it was a short few hours stay, Selena shared multiple updates throughout. And most importantly, Mylo seems had good time with new friends. Will definitely book again.”

“Sean did a great job with our Bassett hound Lilly. Our family had a change in our travel schedule and Sean replied quickly and was accommodating to our doggy! Thanks so much Sean!”

About: I’ve always grown up with animals in my home. My husband and I have been dog sitting through Rover since Covid and have loved every part of it. We treat all pups like they’re part of our family, caring for and loving them as if they were our own. Hey there! 👋🏽 My name is Olivia, and my husband’s name is TJ. We both work from home full-time and are ready to share our home with your furry loved ones. We love to go on walks with the pups and go to our neighborhood dog park. We also love to play fetch in the yard and have lots of toys for pups to play with. To our returning families, welcome back! 💕 We took some time away after looking our baby boy, Jules, to a seizure. We miss him dearly, but Leo is ready to have fun with his friends again. Our house is not a home without paw prints. 🐾 We have no kids and we treat our dogs like our kids. Our house has a fenced in yard where we have pest control come out every 2 weeks to kill bugs like fleas and tics to keep our babies safe.
“It was an awesome experience!!! Tobi hasn't been to daycare for a while, so I was nervous, but Tobi seemed very comfortable and happy after the daycare. I'm very thankful to Debasish and Ankana!!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Dorchester commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
