About: People often say I have a way with animals. They always seem drawn to me immediately, even when they are wary of others. I feel honored that animals feel this way about me because I feel the same about them! I have cared for many dogs of all sizes as well as owned cats. I have volunteered at a dog rescue in Thailand that has many disabled dogs as well as fostered cats/kittens here at home. I have a big fenced yard with both grass and forest to run and play. I don’t have multiple dogs staying with me at one time ( unless discussed in advance) so your baby will get all the attention. Although I will never replace you, I can provide love and safety until you return (and probably some treats and adventures too!) I'm currently not working and can dedicate my time to pet/house sitting and care. As you can see from my photo gallery, I love all animals and have volunteered at a dog rescue in Thailand, fostered kittens at home, and have seen very cool animals in the wild and at animal rescues/sanctuaries around the world. (I always vet them to make sure they are ethical and doing legit work) I have a large fenced yard and indoor space for cats or dogs. We have plenty of shade and are also willing to take pets with us on outings. I live with my husband and son and they also love and respect animals. As far as caring for pets at someone else's home, I can stay at your house or check in as often as needed. I will play with them, feed them, bathe them, take them places (if requested) and give them love. I know they miss their people and its not the same without you, but I do my best to make them feel safe and comfortable.

About: I’ve been house-sitting and pet-sitting since high school, and I absolutely love it! Throught my teens I regularly cared for pets and homes for four different families during the summers. I grew up in a big family surrounded by animals- horses, pigs, dogs, and chickens, so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. Now, I have a cat of my own and live with a friendly Husky-Malamute mix. They love people, other animals, and even babies! Whether it’s dogs, cats, or other furry (or feathered) friends, I’m here to provide loving, responsible care while you’re away. I’d love to meet your pets and make sure they feel safe, happy, and entertained! Since I already have a cat and live with a Husky-Malamute, pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I start my day making sure they’re fed, have fresh water, and get some morning attention—whether that’s playtime or a walk Throughout the day, I keep an eye on them, making sure they’re happy and engaged. For dogs, I make sure they get enough exercise and outdoor time, and for cats, I provide play and enrichment to keep them stimulated. If I’m pet-sitting, I adjust my schedule to match the pet’s needs, whether that’s feeding times, walks, or companionship. I love spending time with animals, so it never feels like a chore—just part of my day! I personally always love to hang out with all of them or their common area to keep an eye out, just in case. Even if they can freely wander outside, I will also go outside to hang out and play with them.

“Carrington was absolutely fantastic with our two babies. She gained our cat’s love easily which is a feat because he never comes out from the bed room when strangers are over! She also took special care of our lonely golden, and made him feel extra loved while we were gone. Her updates were phenomenal as well! It really helped put me at ease with leaving my fur babies. We have another trip coming up at the end of the year and I know our babies are hoping Carrington can watch them again! ♥️”

About: Been a proud owner of goats, cats, chickens, reptiles and dogs. I've had experience in the veterinary field, worked with and cared for livestock and house pets. I am currently working as a veterinary assistant in PV. My schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30/9:00am to 5pm. If your pet is able to be left home while I work then perfect! Otherwise I am fully available for long weekends. :) In my own home I have reptiles and three cats and one older dog around. If your pet is staying with me or I’m keeping them company in your own home, I always am engaging with the pet. Any opportunity to play and have some fun, we’re doing it! If they’re more laid back and want to snooze next to me, I will relax with them.

I’ve dog sat many times over the past few years for family and friends. I currently spend a lot of time home and am looking for some extra money. I figured spending that time with animals would make me happiest. I have a cat of my own and I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex with lots of grass area for dogs! About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, and even more exotic pets in both urban homes and rural off-grid environments. Whether it’s walks, belly rubs, or administering medicine, I treat every animal as a unique being with their own personality and needs. Friends and community members often turn to me for pet care because they know I genuinely love and respect animals as soulful companions. As an entrepreneur with a flexible schedule, I’m available for daytime visits, overnight stays, and extended care. I work remotely and manage my own hours, so I can easily tailor my availability to your pet’s routine—including last-minute needs or irregular schedules. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority. I offer a calm, loving, and secure environment where your animals can feel safe and at ease. I take time to learn your pet’s specific needs, preferences, and routines to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for in your absence. I’m attentive to behavioral cues and quick to adapt to ensure trust is never broken. Whether we’re enjoying outdoor play or snuggling indoors, I create a grounded and peaceful space for them to thrive.

About: I have had a variety of animals always in my life. I have cared for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish and rodents. (All of which I've had at some point) I have also worked for a rescue charity for 7+ years which resulted in having learned basic and emergency care, as well as administration of medication. I am retired and looking to fill my time with love and cuddles. I have always enjoyed caring for the variety of animals I have and have had. I love learning all the cute special quirks and loves of every animal I interact with. I am very respectful of other people's space and items - my focus is on the animals in my charge. I can feed, walk, play and generally be a companion to any animal. I also respect the home and treat it even better than my own, ensuring that I leave the home as I found it.

About: My whole life, my family, and I have always had pets in our home from spiders, lizards, iguanas, frogs, snakes, birds (including wild, pigeons), fish, gerbils, rabbits, cats, and dogs. I grew up being around extended family members who have had other pets such as monkeys, horses, goats, sheep and chickens, to name a few. 😂 🙈🐶🦋🐷🦄🐐🐾🐍🐸🐱🐇🐭🐹🐿️🫏 As a child, I would rescue injured animals and take them home and nurse them back to health so I could set them free or give them forever home, if they couldn’t go back to the wild. I’ve always loved animals, and my passion has always been dogs and horses. I currently have four kids (dogs) in my home ages 5 to 13 years and ranging from 8 pounds to 65 pounds. My kids and I enjoy having visitors so we can meet new friends and play. I do not work or have any other obligations so caring for your kids is my number one priority! I am able to give them lots of love and attention throughout the day. We spend the majority of the day playing either in the house or outside. Throughout the day, I spend alone time with each dog so I can get to know your dog and understand their personality. This is some of the best time of the day because this is where we build our relationship and respect. 🥰🤗 Why use Rove? Please see Rover Guarantee on the website or in the app. Rover also verify dog sitters identity and runs a background checks. Why use Tammy H? Safety first: I read all dog’s profiles prior to accepting any booking and usually complete a meet and greet in my home! I separate dogs during feeding and treat time, so most dogs who visit are crate trained. (food and treats are provided by the owners). My front yard and backyard are fully fenced independently. 4 foot and 6 foot respectively. We have baby gates throughout the home for the dogs safety. If your dog is crate trained, please bring the crate. If your dog is not crate trained, they can stay in the office/dog room on the bed or the floor in small beds.

About: My experience in pet care consist of caring for my own pet, family, friends, and Rover families' small to medium size pets. I have worked with a varying amount of indoor trained dog breeds. I have experience with administering and applying medication. As an experienced dog mom I acknowledge that I don't know everything and I am open to learn and understand all different types of small to medium size dogs and different ways of caring for pets. I highly respect each owner's way of caring and feeding their pet. As your pet sitter I will do my best to implement the same or similar feeding and daily routines to ensure they feel right at home. I cannot wait to extend my love and dog care experience to your beloved furry family member by providing a fun, loving, and safe home like experience during their stay! I am a stay at home mom which allows me to enjoy time with your fur baby and be available to play, cuddle and take on daily walks (weather and time permitted). I am available for dog boarding/sitting on holidays, weekends, & weekdays. Please refer to my profile & calendar for availability and pricing. My family home is located in the beautiful Sunset Village Oaks area in Rocklin and it is adequate for dog boarding/sitting. The home and well fenced backyard, each have 3 entries and exits in case of an emergency evacuation. The backyard offers plenty of outdoor space to exercise, explore, play and sun bathe with easy access to a beautiful walking trail. Unfortunately, the indoors isn't big enough for larger dogs and to provide cat care. The indoors living space, however, can accommodate small to medium size dogs and their crates, if preferred. Dogs are kept indoors during extreme weather conditions and only allowed outside for potty breaks. The best effort is made to take your pet on daily walks. There are 2 separate outdoor play areas should a dog be on the shy side. Dogs are fed separately to keep them from eating each other's food and treats, this is to avoid upset tummies and upset doggies. Every dog's behavior is monitored closely to prevent from anyone getting hurt. Safety is my #1 priority. I will update you daily with pictures and short videos for you to enjoy during your time away.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Dobbins

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
