About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have always had a deep love for them. While I’ve primarily worked with horses and cows, I’ve also spent years around dogs and cats. We have our own rescue pup at home, and I’ve helped care for everything from small lap dogs to German Shepherds. About: Hello! I graduated high school in 2022. During my senior year I attended the Bixhorn Technological Center for Animal Science Boces. There I learned a plethora of skills and knowledge including but not limited to, both animal behavior and phycology, as well as husbandry, nutrition, and grooming. I am trained and capable of administering insulin, as well as I have experience caring for disabled and paralyzed dogs:) I first joined rover in 2024 while attending community college on Long Island, since then I’ve worked a variety of farm jobs as well. Most recently the Suffolk county farm; there I was responsible for the care and livelihood of a variety of livestock from poultry, goats, pigs, llamas, horses, and cows. “After meeting Mariana, initially we knew we wanted to hire her to help us both in the care of our dog and behavior training to help eliminate some bad habits that were formed as a puppy before he got any older. We knew what needed correcting, but we were struggling to employ specific strategies that would actually help us enjoy our dog more normally. His fearful and bossy ways were confusing to us because he was often a very loving dog and his behaviors seemed contradictory. Mariana was very loving to Sparrow and was very good at teaching us what she knows. She displays a genuine sense of gentle compassion towards animals and people, but she also has a firm confidence and a wealth of knowledge about animals!”

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
