“Tamara provided overnight boarding for my dog while I was out of town for a long weekend, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was extremely responsive to messages and sent thoughtful updates, including a photo that clearly showed my dog was relaxed, comfortable, and settling in well with her pack and environment. That gave me great peace of mind. Tamara is calm, professional, capable, and very trustworthy. Knowing that she has four dogs of her own and works from home was especially reassuring, and she had no issues administering my dog’s daily pill. My dog really enjoyed exploring her yard (especially the chickens!) and Tamara clearly knew how to manage her gently and confidently. When I picked her up, she was happy to see me but calm and relaxed, which told me she had felt safe and well cared for. Tamara was also wonderful to work with from the beginning - she met with me beforehand to answer questions and make sure everything was a good fit, and she was easy to communicate with throughout. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, professional, and reliable sitter.”

“Leslie is guaranteed the best sitter within the DMV area. She has transformed her home into a dog’s luxury resort, complete with total attentiveness, ultimate amenities, and activities that a dog could only dream of. In addition to all of that, her communications are fantastic and Cash is always so excited to arrive at Ms. Leslie’s and never ready to leave. I’ve never had such peace of mind leaving Cash if/when I have to be out of town.”

“Kristen did a great job with our pup Dory!! She was communicative and it seems like they have a great set up over there. Would very much recommend her as a sitter for your pupper.”

“I left my furbaby with Walter during my thanksgiving break during covid and i couldnt be happier. During meet and greet all precautions were taken while getting all details on my baby behavior and preferences as well as during drop off and pick up. My pup seemed extremely happy and loved during her whole stay. I received daily updates and pictures about activities. I would totally leave my baby with him again and totally recommend him!!”

“Yzabella is one of the best dog sitters we have ever hired. She is very dedicated to the pets and shows them love. We can tell because our dog return back home after nearly 2 weeks very happy. While we were away, Yzabella has been staying in frequent communication with us, sending pictures and we can really tell that she show pets a lot of attention. She is very caring and we will definitely be back to her and hire her for dog sitting again when we need to go on another trip where we can not take our dog with us. Great job, really thankful for everything she did. 5/5 definitely! Thank you really so much from bottom of our hearts, Yzabella! See you again soon!”

About: Hi! I’m Hope, a lifelong dog lover and experienced pet sitter offering in home dog boarding in a calm, family setting. I’m a stay at home mom to my two year old, so your dog will have constant supervision, attention, and care throughout the day. Our home is peaceful, loving, and ideal for dogs who enjoy being part of a family environment. We’re lucky to have a beautiful setup for pups: a fenced front yard/garden for safe outdoor time, plus an acre of land and nearby dog friendly trails for walks, sniffing, and exploring. Whether your dog loves playtime or prefers a slower pace, I tailor care to their needs and routine. Because I have a young child, I do require that all dogs are comfortable around children. Your dog will be treated like one of our own with plenty of love, structure, and attention so they feel safe, relaxed, and at home while you’re away. I’d love to meet you and your pup! Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine since I’m a stay-at-home mom and home throughout the day. Your dog will be part of our everyday rhythm—morning outdoor time, walks, play, rest, and evening wind-down. Because I’m home most of the time, I’m able to provide consistent supervision, attention, and care without long gaps. Throughout the week, I keep a steady routine while also adjusting to each dog’s needs, energy level, and schedule. My goal is to create a calm, predictable environment where your dog feels comfortable and cared for like part of the family. I send lots of updates and pictures and follow all care instructions carefully! I want you to feel comfortable with your pet in my care!
“This lady is AMAZING! last minute medical situation and with a new puppy. She was so welcoming and so nice. Great communication amazing updates and seriously she could be a pro dog photographer. Just absolutely no. 1 best person on Rover. Anyone in the area needing someone to care for your pups have to give her a shout!”

“Erin is an incredible dog sitter! She genuinely loves your pet and takes such good care of them. Her whole family are so loving and caring. She made us feel so assured that our pup was in good hands and provided updates throughout our trip. We would recommend Erin to anyone!!”

“Maria and her son were excellent companions for Moxie this weekend — super responsive and sent plenty of updates of our dog enjoying the poolside. We will be back again soon!”

“Vidhi did a wonderful job taking care of Buddy. Communication was smooth throughout his stay, and she sent daily pictures, which gave me peace of mind. I also loved that she also has a mini Goldendoodle, so Buddy had a buddy to keep him company! He looked very comfortable and happy in her home. I would definitely recommend Vidhi, and I have booked her again for next weekend.”

“Kalley was amazing!! I needed a new sitter as my previous sitter stopped doing in-home boarding, and Kalley was phenomenal. She was very attentive and kept me updated daily on how Marley was doing via text and pictures. I knew he was extremely comfortable in her home which really put me at ease. Thank you Kalley to you and your family for taking such good care of Marley!”

“This was the first time leaving our puppy with anybody. He is seven year old husky mix who has the all of the husky quirks but who is a very sweet dog. While with Jaime & Mike I saw that the whole family really looked after Max. During our time away they updated us with texts and pictures, and when we arrived to pick him up he was happily walking outside with Mike. He had a bed set up close to everyone so he wouldn’t feel alone. I would definitely leave him there again, you can tell they really like dogs and that makes a difference”

“Ali did an amazing job watching our pup for five days! Cooper is an eight month old morkie who is going through a skittish phase with new people. Ali and her family put him right at ease and updated me with photos throughout the week. I could tell he was relaxed and felt right at home! Staying with a family was a much better option for Cooper than a kennel. I would highly recommend Ali and will be using her services again!”

“Chaoran was great. She took good care of Elsa and kept me informed about how she was doing. When I went to pick her up, Elsa seemed a bit conflicted as to whether she would prefer to stay there or come home with me.😂 I took that as a good sign.”

“Stacie is amazing! I had never left my 11 year old pups with anyone but family before. She sent lots of photos and assured me they were doing well. They came back home happier than ever. If I ever need another sitter, Stacie will be the first person I contact!”

“Katherine did a great job with our shy dog. Katherine gave Ginger plenty of space and she gradually introduced Ginger to the rest of the dogs to create a smooth transition. I’m very pleased to have found Katherine and I’ll be calling on Katherine again when the need arises.”

“Lauren, impressively on short notice, took my pup in for boarding and was remarkable with his care! I highly encourage anyone seeking pet assistance to consider Lauren for services & I plan to seek her services the next time my pup needs boarding.”

“Richard and his family were the perfect fit for our dog, Honey! Honey is a 15 year old, small dog who has recently gone deaf. She struggles with other dogs and I was having a hard time finding someone who would only take one dog at a time. Then I found Richard! Honey felt right at home with them. I loved the picture and video updates each night. She returned home happy, healthy and ready to play. Thank you so much for taking care of our sweet old girl!”

“Jessica truly went above and beyond while taking care of our dog Frank! She provided many updates and pictures and we knew he was in great care! She is amazing with dogs and would absolutely use her again!”

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
