“Corette did an amazing job taking care of our two high maintenance kitties. She sent us picture updates and it was clear our cats loved spending time with her while we were gone. I would definitely have Corette watch our cats again!”

“Rowan has been the best dog and cat sitter we’ve had since using this app—10/10, highly recommend. They’re great with animals, always send photos and updates, and are incredibly reliable and attentive.”

About: I have been around animals my whole life, and I have done dog and cat sitting a few times over the years for neighbors or friends. I’ve had cats and dogs in my home since 2014, and I am very comfortable around both. I currently have a full time job; I work primarily in the mornings with evening shifts thrown in here and there. I don’t do much outside of that, so I am pretty available otherwise. I want to keep all pets feeling comfortable, following their routines/schedule, and keeping them company (within their boundaries). I no longer live with my cats and miss them greatly, so I will make sure they receive extra attention, pets, and playtime (within their boundaries).
“Theodore was great! Our dogs Harley and Zoey loved him and we couldn’t ask for anyone better! He gave us updates on how they were doing and sent pictures and we didn’t have to worry at all about how they were doing when we were away on vacation! We could just relax and enjoy ourselves! There was an incident at the end of his time watching them where Harley chewed a couple things, but that was only because he was anxious because Theodore had a family emergency and had to leave in the middle of the night and was totally understandable and not his fault! We would definitely recommend him to housesit and watch your pets and we will definitely be using him again in the future!”

“Jolee did a great job watching our two large dogs while we were gone. Our lab can be a bit slow to warm up with new people and she handled him super well and communicated with us consistently. We loved the pics she sent! Would definitely rebook :)”

“Allison was awesome with Willow. She was punctual and extremely outgoing and friendly. Allison sent us a beautiful picture of her and Willow bonding that was super precious. I will definitely be calling Allison for future fur baby get togethers. ❤️💕”
About: I've grown up always having pets in the home. We've always had at least one dog in the house, along with a handful of other types of pets (cats, rats, guinea pigs, even a chinchilla) throughout the years. This has solidified my love for animals of all kinds, and makes me eager to care for and love your pets as if they are my own, if you choose to give me the opportunity to do so :) I am a teacher trying to keep myself busy for the summer! My schedule is wide open so feel free to message me with any requests! I care for pets in their own home by maintaining their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, exercise, and any medications they may need. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I also make sure to keep owners updated with regular messages and photos for peace of mind! I also have reliable transportation which would allow me to be able to come to your home and care for your pet in their own environment!
About: I’ve always been an animal lover since I was little. Throughout college I have done all sorts of pet/house sitting for friends, family, coworkers etc. I have house sat for a family friend that required feeding and watering horses, milking goats, reptile care, rabbit cleaning care, medicating cats/dogs if needed, you name it. I currently have a Corn Snake, a Western Plains Hognose Snake as well as a Crested Gecko. I have been a Veterinary Receptionist for over 5 and a half years now. I was also an Animal Keeper for about a year with native Illinois Wildlife (including black bears, cougars & bobcats). I am currently transitioning to being a Veterinary Assistant so I am gaining new skills weekly! Currently working a max of 30 hours at my day job as a Veterinary Assistant but recently have been working less. Typically I have Sundays and Wednesdays off during the week but sometimes get another random week day off depending on how busy we are at the clinic. My shifts can vary from 8am to 2pm; 8am to 4pm; 9am to 3pm; 9am to 5pm or even 8am to 6:30pm. The earlier I’m off during the day I am able to help after that too. Your home is their home. I will cater to your pet based on what they like or need. If they just need someone to keep them company I’m there. I will treat your space with respect and follow any instructions given. My pets are family and are treated as such so the same would go for your kiddos.
“Brittany was the best surprise. Our sitter cancelled the day before we left. We were worried about leaving our pup with someone so last minute but Brittany was awesome. She was super responsive, made time even last minute to come meet with us. She was super respectful and great with communication. Our dog loved her and we knew he was in great hands. Thank you so much Brittany!”

About: i have taken care of several breeds of dogs from the bichon’s to mastiffs! I have a beagle/shar pei mix who is 12 years old and a pit bull who is 2. We have 4 cats and I am an animal lover through and through! i am a stay at home mom of 2 and so my availability is open typically very flexible!. Up until now I have done this strictly in after work/school hours, but now have much more availability and hope to be able to branch out to more families! I will always respect the home of my client and their animals. We will go over any wants and needs and you don’t have to worry about anything else while you are gone! I am a Rover user myself and understand how important it is to feel stress free and in good hands when you are gone.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life! I’ve worked as a veterinary assistant at my family’s veterinary clinic for the past 9 years, where I’ve helped care for dogs and cats with all kinds of personalities, ages, and medical needs. Through my work at the clinic, I’ve become comfortable and skilled at administering medications and assisting with medical care, so I can confidently care for pets who may need a little extra attention. I’m attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, and the overall well being of your furry best friend. Outside of the clinic, I’ve raised multiple litters of rescue kittens, care for our clinic cats on weekends, and currently have three rescue cats and a dog of my own. Caring for animals isn’t just a job to me, it’s something I genuinely love! I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I’ll treat them with the same patience, attention, and affection that I give my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply having someone nearby, I’m happy to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away 💕 My schedule is flexible and varies throughout the month. I serve in the Navy Reserve and occasionally work at my family’s veterinary clinic when they need extra help, but outside of those commitments I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I keep my availability updated and only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. When caring for your pet, they will have my full attention, and you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages! Working in a veterinary clinic has taught me how important it is to pay attention to the little things. I closely follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care requests, and I’m always keeping an eye on your pet’s comfort and well being. I will make your pet feel safe, loved, and as relaxed as possible when you’re away, while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands!
About: I have experience administering all kinds of medication to all ages of dogs. I love meeting your older dogs and have experience helping them navigate stairs and the home if necessary. I am patient and if your dog needs extra accommodation I am happy to provide assistance. I am currently a college student on break for the summer so my schedule is incredibly flexible. I am available for early mornings, late nights, and everything in between. I understand it can be nerve racking trusting someone with your pet, but I am extremely communicative and will keep you updated as frequently as you wish. I have pet sat for multiple families who have always returned to tidy homes and happy pets. As someone who has had the privilege of loving many animals, big and small (snakes, lizards, geckos, cat, hamsters), I understand the importance of your pet.
About: I’m very easy going. I love to take them for walks, get them a pup cup, parks, etc.. If they have meds or a certain diet that’s not a problem. As well as if they have any other specific needs, I will make sure to meet them. You can expect regular updates and pictures if wanted. I believe every dog should get love and attention so I will make sure not to be a stranger to them! Hope they love their tummy tickled too! Let me know if you have any questions:) I work at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, I am part time from 7am-1pm. I do online schooling therefore I would only be gone during the morning/ afternoon. The rest of the day is fully for the pups! In my clients home they have either a fenced yard or a shock collar to keep them in. One of my clients has specific diets and medication for both of their dogs and prefers if they are walked daily as well! (no extra charge for walking ofc). They text me the details or they write on a piece of paper and leave notes. I have no problem following directions, it is better to be more specific though when telling them. And I do send pics and update my clients if asked or necessary!
“Sami did a great job with Duke and Daisy. She made us feel very relaxed by updating us occasionally with texts and pictures. The dogs loved her and we definitely felt comfortable having her in our home. We will definitely book again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deer Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deer Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deer Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deer Creek. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
