Sheri is so amazing with my Sophie. She's a nervous dog and takes awhile to warm up to new people and Sheri was so accommodating to her. Took her time and really worked with her while she stayed there. She came home such a happy dog and really seemed to do great! I know she loved the company too!

Carrie and V (Veronica) were wonderful. I have a spoiled little dog and they probably spoiled her more. Sent pictures every day while on my trip which made me feel I made the right decision. They are true dog lovers and dedicated to giving your beloved family member a loving home environment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve used Emily many times for overnight dog stays for our 2 golden retrievers and always feel comfortable and reassured that our dogs get the best care possible while we are away on trips! She always sends photos and updates and our dogs love the fenced-in backyard where they can run all their energy out. Always will recommend!

Wow, what an incredible family! I believe we hit the jackpot by connecting with these amazing dog sitters. It is obvious how much they love animals. Our miniature poodle, Leo, was treated like royalty at their beautiful home. And it was so wonderful to see how excited their young daughters were to spend the day with Leo. We even sent a request last minute and needed them to watch him longer than planned, and they were so accommodating and kind. It was truly an amazing experience!

I’ve used a lot of sitters here on Rover, and Jason is the best by a long shot! His love for animals shows in how well he takes care of them; my anxious girl LOVES Jason and knows she’s going to have a fun day every time she sees him. He’s a great communicator, and will always act in the best interest of your pet. Not to mention, I’ve gotten some of the best quality photos of my pretty girl from Jason!

Surama took great care of my dogs while I was away on a family vacation. Poppy and Rem came home tired and happy! She was flexible with pickup times when my flight home got delayed. I'll be booking with Surama again in the future! You can't beat tired and happy dogs!

About: I have owned and cared for numerous pets throughout my entire life. We currently own 2 dogs. I have experience with puppies through adult dogs. My preference for overnights and boarding are on the weekends (until May), but I am available for walks and drop in visits almost any day of the week. I enjoy all aspects of pet care and treat animals like family. Whether your dog needs a potty break or extra snuggle time if you're out of town, I'm there!

Megan was wonderful - met up with us in advance for a meet and greet, shared regular updates and pictures of Bella, and took overall good care of her, including when she got anxious and sick. She is punctual and conscientious. Megan also offers pick up and drop off, which is so convenient. I would greatly recommend!

About: I have taken care of my parents senior dog in my home while they were out of town. Helped a former coworker with her dog, also in my home, while she was out of town. I have helped a friend of mine with their senior dog + 4 cats in their home as drop in visits while they were out of town. Since starting Rover, I have had multiple in home stays with dogs, and homes that have both dogs and cats. I work full-time from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. My morning routine includes leaving the house by 7:00 AM to take my child to daycare or school. Before departing, all pets in my care are taken outside, fed, and provided with any necessary medications. Depending on the proximity of your home, I may be available to stop by during my lunch break to check on and care for your pet. After work, I pick up my child from daycare and can typically arrive at your home around 5:00 PM. Upon arrival, dogs will be taken outside promptly and fed as needed. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to discuss specific care needs or scheduling. I care for pets with the same level of attention and compassion as I do my own. I follow each pet’s individual feeding schedule, ensure they always have access to fresh water, and administer any required medications as directed. Dogs are taken outside regularly for bathroom breaks and exercise, and I make time to play and engage with them to keep them happy and active. For cats, I maintain clean litter boxes in addition to providing consistent feeding, fresh water, and attentive care. I also enjoy offering treats when permitted; my daughter especially loves helping to give treats, making it a fun and positive experience for your pet.

About: I’ve worked in vet med for 5 years now and I’m a third-year veterinary student. I have a cat named Horton and a dog named Reno that passed a few years ago. This makes me well prepared to spot and respond to any emergencies your baby may have! I’m currently in the area on a veterinary externship (what I do when I’m not taking classes), so I have time in the early morning and evenings to care for somebody’s babies that may need it. I care for the babies by making sure they’re fed and feeling well when I see them. I will also just sit and watch from a distance if they’re the kind that don’t prefer a human’s company. Also, I pet them and tell them just how beautiful they are every 10 minutes in the midst of me taking hundreds of pics for the client.

About: I’ve loved dogs my entire life and have experience caring for family pets and helping friends with their dogs. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable. I enjoy being active and can provide walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I understand the importance of following owners’ instructions and will always communicate clearly and provide updates during visits. I’m currently working in the mornings until 2-4 pm and would love to spend my evenings crying for dogs who are I need. I am available during late hours during the weekdays and weekends. The safety and comfort of every pet is my top priority. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and routines. During walks and visits, I keep pets secure, use proper leash handling, and pay close attention to their behavior and surroundings. I provide regular updates and photos so owners know their pets are happy and well cared for. In a client’s home, I respect their space, keep doors and gates secure, and make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention and care.

About: I have had animals all of my life and have cared for them immensely. My family and friends say I have a special way with animals. I worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility for almost 2 years and got lots of experience caring for dogs there as well as opportunities to sit outside of it which has become a huge part of my life. I have knowledge and experience on all sorts of problems that may arise in both cats and dogs including cpr. I am currently a full-time purdue student who takes most classes online so I have plenty of time to care for your fur baby! I love going on walks so you can guarantee your fur baby will get some long peaceful and smellful walks! So far I have done both in-home and in my home. I make sure to have a specific wake up sleep schedule so my animals and the ones I have watched have a routine and care. As I mentioned before I love walks… so walks are guaranteed! In the clients home I make sure to provide the same level of care and attention to the pet as I would my own or in my own home!

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Dayton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 79 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Dayton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Dayton home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Dayton.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Dayton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
