“Amanda and her family took such great care of Belle! They sent me lots of photos and updates and paid very close attention to her health and well-being, more than anyone ever has before so I would highly recommend her”

“They (the whole family!) were wonderful with our dog, Cooper. Cooper had never stayed at someone else’s home before, so we were nervous how he would do. Rebecca was wonderful in sending us pictures and keeping us updated, reassuring us he was doing well. He seemed happy, both in the pictures and when we came to get him. I felt like he was well cared for and loved while we were gone. I would definitely use her again!”

“The most amazing sitter ever! Alana was flexible with the dates and able to change last minute. She took such good care of my dog, sent pictures all the time, and updated me with everything. He was so so happy staying with her & had the best time! Can not say how much I recommend Alana!!”

About: IMPORTANT— I will be in Connecticut from 12/20-1/3. All other dates I will be in Indiana. Unfortunately there is no way to specify location for specific dates in Rover. If you have any questions please let me know! I have taken care of pets my whole life (my own and others). I have two of my own dogs currently — at 70 lb Shepherd x Dalmatian and a 25 lb Jack Russel x Aussie, both of which can get rowdy so I am no stranger to high energy pets! I am happy to help work on basic commands and will make sure your pet gets plenty of physical and mental exercise! I am a graduate student so my schedule is very flexible when it comes to checking in on pets and I typically like to spend >1 hour with them a day. I can provide medications and/or any specific care that your dog might require. I am a graduate student and my schedule can be flexible! For boarding— my own dogs wake me up at 6 am to eat and then often like to go outside around 8 after some more snoozing. As a student I can be gone from 9-5 occasionally, but more often it is 11-4 or something similar. On average I am gone between 4-8 hours at a time depending on my schedule. During the day we usually play and I give them different enrichment toys. When I am home I let the dogs out frequently to romp in the yard! Dinner is around 5 and then usually a calm evening. My weekends I am usually home for the entire day. For at home visits or walks— I am happy to fit your pets needs into my schedule! I can offer up to 3 visits per day and can spend various amounts of time with your pet based on their needs. For boarding—I have a fenced in yard with plenty of room to run and play. I have two dogs who are friendly (albeit loud) and would love to run around with your dog! I do have a crate in the house for your dog if needed. When I am gone my own dogs are closed in my bedroom and I would likely close your pet(s) in a separate room as well— your pet does not need to be crate trained if they are non destructive! Because I do have pets of my own any boarded dogs need to be dog and cat friendly. For home visits and walks— I am slow to introduce myself with each visit to make sure your pet is comfortable with me in their home as it can be stressful!! I typically sit with pets before immediately going for the leash to make sure they feel safe. I am happy to spend time with your pets beyond walking/feeding! In am able to stay for longer periods of time in the evenings to play or sit and just spend time with them. I am comfortable with reactive dogs and will prioritize your pets comfort.
“Thank you to Danielle and family. They all accepted my Suga with open arms and made her feel at home. Suga was happy to see me, and at the same time it was hard for her to leave. I highly recommend them and definitely will be using them in the future.”

“Lucas proved to be an excellent choice for keeping my playful dog for a week. He's caring, responsible, friendly and very good at keeping the doggo happy. I was impressed by how good he handled everything, even keeping me updated on how she was with adorable photos. I'll definitely be giving Lucas a shout next time I'm in Decatur with Bosco.”

“Monica was awesome! She sent lots of photos and updates of our two doggies. She took them on lots of walks and they they got plenty of treats! We will be boarding with her again”

“Paul and his family were very easy to work with and took great care of my dog for a couple days. My dog came back happy and tired, and I would not hesitate to use them again for other trips.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since middle school. I love dogs and have two on my own - a Dalmatian and a Basset Hound. My family is very active and we walk the doggies daily! My job is very flexible and I have a lot of extra time during the day to spend time with the doggies! I have had dogs all my life! I love dogs and I spend a lot of time outdoors with the doggies! I make sure the doggies get at least one walk a day but more often than not they get walked twice daily.
“Odalys was amazing with our Jasper during our wedding weekend. We could tell he had a great time in all of the pictures she sent us while he was in her care. She also made sure to communicate any questions or concerns with us immediately. A great gal and a clean living space as well.”
About: I’ve been a pet lover since I was a kid and my love for pets has only grown over the years! I truly enjoy the companionship that let’s have to offer. Taking care of pets fits right into our everyday life! I’m a stay-at-home dad and husband, so we’re always moving around the house, hanging out in the yard, or heading out to the park. Between toddler adventures and walks, there’s plenty of time for play, fetch, and cuddles, your pup will feel right at home with us. I have a fenced yard and a security camera at my front entrance. I love spending time outdoors and have plenty of energy to take my toddler and pets on walks to the nearby park.
“Samantha was great! She picked up & dropped off my dog, kept me updated throughout the stay, and even reached out to ask how to comfort him when he was crying. I really appreciated how caring and attentive she was. I'd definitely recommend her”

About: I’m 24 and I’ve lived with dogs and cats my whole life—puppies, old timers, and everything in between. Animals aren’t just pets to me, they’re family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, baths, cuddles, feeding, or just hanging out, I’ll do anything when it comes to your four-legged kids. I’ve cared for people’s pets before, and it’s something I enjoy. I’m reliable, always on time, and go above and beyond what’s expected. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely loves animals and takes care of them like they’re his own, I’m your guy! I currently work a salaried position from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. **Weekday Availability:** Evenings after 5:00 PM are wide open for pet sitting, cuddles, and any necessary care—whether it's feeding, walking, or simply keeping your pet company. **Weekend Availability:** The weekends are the real treat! I'm available all day Saturday and Sunday for anything from quick visits to overnight stays. If your pet needs a cozy sleepover, Friday and Saturday nights are ideal. When caring for pets, whether at my home or my client's, their comfort and safety always come first. Your pet's well-being is my top priority. At my home, I offer a wide-open, fenced backyard where animals can explore safely. Inside, I maintain a secure, pet-friendly space with no hazards. If requested by owners, I can accommodate crate-training, though you'll need to provide the crate. I have three playful, friendly male cats (under a year old) who love interacting with other animals. I respect every pet's unique personality, ensuring positive and stress-free interactions. Clear communication with owners about their pet's preferences is key—so you can feel confident your pet is in trustworthy hands. My home is stocked with essentials: fresh food, clean water, and plenty of toys to keep pets active and engaged. There's also climbing furniture for those curious explorers. The setup ensures your pet has fun, stays comfortable, and feels at home. Every service is tailored to the unique needs of the pet and the owner. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Owasco home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Owasco.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Owasco sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
