“I booked Lauren for the second time, and once again she was amazing! She takes such great care of my Xena and really caters to her needs, especially when it comes to food and routines. I love that she sends plenty of updates throughout the visit, it gives me so much peace of mind. She’s professional, attentive, and genuinely cares. I absolutely love her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!”
“From the moment we met her and she welcomed us into her home, we knew she would be a perfect fit for us and our Molly. She brings your pet into her life and her family and takes care of them. You couldn’t ask for anything more. She sent pictures and kept in contact. I already asked to book her again!! It was huge relief and we are grateful for her!”
“Sasha was great with my dogs! I was so nervous because I have never left them with a stranger but Sasha immediately made us all feel comfortable and calm. I appreciate her detailed updates when I ask for them. I got lots of pictures of my pups and loved getting to see them while I was away. One of my dogs is 3 pounds and I was very nervous about her, but Sasha took great care of her. My other dog is a grumpy, older chihuahua with separation anxiety and he was perfectly content when I came to pick them up. We will definitely book with her any time I leave town in the future!”
“Elizabeth did a wonderful job taking care of Sofie. She even got Sofie to go on a walk, which she usually will do only with me! Elizabeth sent frequent photos as this was Sofie's first time staying with her and her boys. The whole family was very loving and caring towards Sofie.”
“Mary did a great job with sending daily updates and following my thorough instructions for my senior dog with cancer. He seemed to get lots of positive stimulation with her and her dogs. Would definitely book again.”
“Scott and Katrina were wonderful! They communicated with us throughout Kona’s stay and sent lots of photos and videos, which we really appreciated. Kona loved playing with their dogs and having their beautiful backyard to run around in. Scott and Katrina were both so sweet with her, and it was obvious that Kona felt happy and comfortable with them. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”
“Emily was great! I really appreciated the photos I got of my dog which she was in her care. Emily was very flexible with drop off and pickup which was very appreciated. I’m sure my dog will be back!”
“We left our puppy with Angela while we took a trip & despite being a little worried about leaving him at first, she definetly squashed those worries. We recieved daily photos, & when I did message, she responded quickly. Our pup always looked happy & healthy, as well as Angela giving him a bath for us so he was also very clean!”
“I’m so impressed with Brandon! They took such great care of my geriatric dog, and I loved receiving pictures and updates throughout the day. They were so kind, great communicators, and most importantly, took amazing care of my girl. Brandon’s two dogs are also so sweet and playful and they seemed to get along really well with my slow potato dog. Brandon was also super accommodating when my plans changed last minute. I’m so thankful they were available to care for my old lady while I was away. I felt confident knowing she was in good hands!”
“This was our first time leaving Pax with Brittany and it was a great match. Pax was well cared for by Brittany and her family. The process was seamless and Brittany sent the most adorable photo/video updates. She really gave me peace of mind while being out of the country. I will definitely work with Brittany again.”
“It is probably the best experience we had from Rover so far. They were great with Benji, he got plenty of attention and play which he needs! Also excellent updates with pics, we knew he was in good caring hands. Will definitely recommend and book again!”
“My dog had an amazing time playing with Paige’s dogs and her cat. They treated her like she was their own and sent many pictures to me, to see how she was going! Paige’s family is the best”
“Travis took great care of them! I could tell he watched them super well since he would describe their behavior and personalities perfectly in his updates. We got videos and pictures twice a day which was perfect! Would board with Travis again.”
“This stay for Lily was great and Cindy and her family are great and our dog loves being with them. We will definitely have Lily stay there again.”
“Michelle and her family were absolutely fantastic! They took care of my pup like he was their own. Great communication and tons of pictures. Would recommend them 10/10!”
“Michelle and Justin were great with communicating with us while we were gone! I got daily pictures and updates knowing my dogs were good and having a fun time. They were also super accommodating with everything. I would book with them again in the future.”
“Amy and her family are amazing with our boy kitty Jade. He was recently diagnosed with a stress disorder but with her updates we knew he was as happy and relaxed as could be. He’s so loved and well cared for by them that we know he’s in the safest hands he could be while we’re away. ❤️”
“Emily was nothing short of phenomenal. I was in a tough spot when my Australian Shepherd named Wendle came down with a cough that needed treated with antibiotics and steroids 2 days before I was scheduled to leave the country on vacation for 10 days. With the alternative being to leave him in isolation at boarding for the entire time or canceling the trip, I was scrambling to find a sitter last minute and we really lucked out connecting with Emily here. She was amazing with Wendle, treating him as her own and I know he loved every minute of his own vacation with her. Emily kept me updated with detailed messages and pictures of Wendle during my trip and had no issues with giving him his medication and taking him on walks and giving him all the attention he needed. I can’t thank her enough for taking in Wendle at the last minute and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter in the future.”
“Carly was amazing with our pup, Sunny! She was attentive, kind, supportive and flexible to fit her needs, and she sent us lots of updates which we loved. I would highly recommend Carly!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Darbyville home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Darbyville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Darbyville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
