For dog walks, I prefer a harness or a sturdy, standard dog leash and a slip-lead (double) for added safety, and I advise against retractable leashes.

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and have over 20 years of hands on experience caring for them. Since I was 10 years old, my family has always had dogs, and over the years I’ve also been trusted to care for family and friends’ pups for days or even weeks at a time. I adopted my own dog at just 10 weeks old, so I’m very familiar with the needs of puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets alike. Whether it’s walks, playtime, medications, maintaining routines, or just providing lots of love and attention, I treat every dog like they’re my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I already structure my days around caring for my own dog. Daily walks, playtime, feeding schedules, enrichment, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for are already a regular part of my life. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to accommodate drop-ins, walks, daycare, and overnight care throughout the week. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets feels less like a task and more like something I truly love doing. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I’m also comfortable administering medications, following detailed care instructions, and adapting to each pet’s personality and needs. I always aim to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. In my own home, pets are treated like family. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment with plenty of supervision, playtime, potty breaks, walks, and space to relax. I also have a friendly, well-socialized dog who does well with other animals, and I always prioritize slow introductions and safety to make sure everyone is comfortable.
