About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities from calm, easygoing pups to nervous or strong dogs that sometimes think they’re training me on the leash. I stay calm in challenging situations and handle them safely without adding stress. I always follow owners’ instructions closely and keep routines consistent, but I’m also comfortable making quick, responsible decisions if something unexpected comes up. I’ve helped with medications, senior pets, and special diets when needed. I’m patient, attentive, and very observant with animals. I pay attention to changes in behavior, mood, and energy, and I always keep owners updated with photos and videos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, as I spend most of my time at home and can give pets consistent attention throughout the day. I’m available any day of the week, including weekends, and I’m always home overnight, which makes me a great fit for boarding and extended stays. My flexible schedule allows me to adapt to each pet’s routine and provide a calm, home-like environment where pets feel safe and well cared for. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. Pets in my home are supervised most of the time and cared for in a calm, structured environment. If needed, I can separate pets or use a crate provided by the owner to ensure everyone feels safe. During walks, I always use the owner’s equipment and follow their preferences closely. Walks are kept calm and controlled, and I avoid crowded areas. Pets are never off-leash unless explicitly approved. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strictly follow house rules and handle keys or access responsibly. I communicate promptly about any concerns and will contact a veterinarian immediately in urgent situations.
About: Surrounded by doggy siblings growing up and now as an auntie to my nieces and nephews, I love to care for your furry children! Your pets will be in great hands. I currently work in a hybrid schedule at my 9-5. I enjoy caring for doggy friends on the weekends and before and after work when needed. I am constantly on top of making sure pets feel at home and comfortable in a new space. I will also make sure pets feel safe and loved when in their own space.
“Chris is a friendly and reliable dog walker! He is very communicative, and cares very much about Bonnie. He sent Rover cards and plenty of pictures of my big baby.”

“I totally lucked out finding Griffin through Rover. He was friendly, communicative, and quickly got to know my dog, Poppy's, personality and needs. I felt very secure having him take her out for walks while I was working. He was safety minded; thinking about the right place to walk with her, using a harness, and being mindful of ticks. I think Poppy loved her time with him and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.”

“I'm so grateful for Kristine and her help with my foxhound Cersei. I'm a single dog-parent and Cersei is a lot of work. Kristine is punctual, attentive, includes photos (in which Cersei is always smiling), and goes above and beyond to make sure Cersei is cared for. I can't recommend Kristine more highly!”

“Samantha was absolutely fantastic with our high-energy puppy, even on a rainy day!! She went above and beyond to take care of our dog, and our dog absolutely loved her as well! I would highly recommend!”

“Candice is terrific! We can tell she loves dogs, is very experienced, careful and trustworthy. And our 8 month old pup loves her. Our dog is high energy yet is always tired out after walks with Candice, which is exactly what we need! I would highly recommend Canice to anyone looking for topnotch pet care.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs, and have a lot of experience with training, guided leash walking, and reactivity. I’ve cared for my five-year-old golden retriever since her puppyhood, and have gained a lot of experience walking with, trust-gaining, and loving on an anxious pup. I’m a proud new mom of a human, but my Moosie will always be my first born baby! I’d love to get to know and care for your pup, too :)! I am a school teacher, so I am pretty flexible on hours during the summer. Generally, I am available as follows: Monday- Friday: 10:00 am-7pm. I have a lot of experience walking dogs of all shapes, sizes, and strengths. My own dog is rather reactive, so I like to use walks as fun obedience training opportunities for pups! I find it makes the walk more interactive and bonding, while burning some extra brain energy for our furry friends. I personally appreciate when our walkers play with our girl and give her extra pets before and after walks, and I intend to do the same for yours as well! I will always respect your space and privacy.
About: I’ve taken care of multiple dogs snd cats in my home as a side passion. I love animals and will care for your pet as if it were my own with safety, care, and match their preferences. Petting sitting is a part time passion I do to fill my love for animals. I work from home and am able to board your pet on the weekends or during the week with advance notice. I love to cuddle, pet, play and walk them. I have a pet free home with a large fenced in yard. I also love hiking and walking so I do walks with pets to provide attention and stimulation.
About: I’ve had a passion for dogs since I was young, and that love has only grown over the years. I recently spent a summer in Alaska working as a sled dog handler, caring for 35 Alaskan Huskies, which taught me so much about dedication, patience, and the unique personalities of dogs. Since then, I’ve had the joy of dog sitting all over the world, where I’ve used Rover all over, dog sitting in New Zealand, and most recently Austria for a year. I’ve gained experience with all kinds of breeds and temperaments. Whether it’s playing, going for a walk around the neighborhood, or just hanging out and giving some extra love, I’m always happy to spend quality time with dogs. I look forward to caring for your pup as if they were my own! I am currently free anytime of the day as I have plenty of time on my hands, especially on weekdays. I’m around anytime of the day through 2026. I do not have a fenced in yard so I could not bring dogs to my home if that matters. I am very active so I would be happy to take dogs on walks/runs as I spend a lot of my time outside.
About: As a mature and caring pet lover, I have had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. Years ago, I worked as an assistant at a veterinary hospital, giving me valuable experience in pet care and handling. Also, I have 30 years experience as a medical massage therapist, and I will gladly massage your babies to help with stiffness or for just the pure enjoyment of it. Your furry friend will be treated like my own with love, patience, and attention to their needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just some good belly rubs, I’m here to make sure they feel safe and happy while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I am retired and am very open to most days and weekends for attending to your pets needs. I can pretty much head out at a moment’s notice. Since I have two cats of my own, I could not bring any animals into my house. My cats are lap cats and always sit where I sit. They so enjoy being massaged and loved on. Looking forward to caring for your pets the same way at your home.
“This was our first time using Rover in several years and since moving back to NYC from another state. We engaged Doris to stop by our apartment to walk our two large dogs in the middle of a weekday when we both had to be out of town and it sounds like everything went great. One of our dogs, Molly, can be very shy and skittish, so we left Doris detailed instructions about how to deal with her. Doris gave us specific feedback about how Molly did with her (quite well, as it turned out), which made us feel more comfortable about the next time we will need to employ someone to help with the dogs.”

Maddie was exceptional. We were from out of town camping at the park and needed someone to let the dogs out on the days we were out sightseeing. She made a point meet us and the dogs the day prior and was prompt and conscientious on all days with photos and a report. We felt very comfortable leaving them in her care and highly recommend her.

Nahomi was very responsive, prompt, and professional. She communicated clearly and took great care of Kona. I felt completely at ease knowing Kona was in good hands. It’s clear she’s reliable and truly cares about the dogs she works with. Kona gives her 4 paws 🐾🐾! I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable dog walker. ❤️

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
